Three months ago I went to Ritz Carlton, Dorado and was so impressed with their plants and park. I was trying to compare Dorado and Palmas and I wasn't sure what is prettier. Then we went again to Dorado this February 2020. Again, the plants in Dorado are amazing. Never the less when we came back to Palmas I had to admit that Palmas IMHO is such a beautiful and superior place because it's a beautiful town, not a hotel with a park.
Vadim Daskal having been to both as well, I feel like Dorado Beach East is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been to. However, much of DBE doesn’t have a great view of the ocean at all unless you own/rent a beach front property. -P
Hmm... live large on the island or live in an off-grid tiny cabin in the American wilderness. I can never decide what to do. I just love every option in life so much.
Great production quality on the deliverable. Its a different world "living" on any Island. Obvious things that can easily be taken for granted include (to name a few): electricity, water, health care, law enforcement as well as seasonal weather patterns. Consider those before deciding to "live" on any island permanently. For a vacation the USVI is a great and easy destination to experience and explore. Gratefully.
Strangely enough, I feel like the weather in Puerto Rico is more predictable than anywhere I've lived before. There are essentially two seasons, wet in the summer and dry in the winter. The only real difference between the two is the summer is about 10 degrees hotter and there is no wind at all. In the winter, it is cooler and the wind picks up (which is good for kiteboarding but bad for boating). Of course there are hurricanes in the summer/fall but as I've said before, most storms become hurricanes after Puerto Rico and I was much more affected by hurricanes when living in South Carolina and the Panhandle area of Florida. The reason I say the weather is more predictable here is that every single day it is beautiful with warm weather and then it rains 1-6 times a day for 10 mins max. Every where else I lived, it could be overcast and rainy for days, and then beautiful for days with no rain, and then tornadoes, and then snow, and the ocean would be warm half the year and then freezing the other half. Puerto Rico does feel more consistent but I will say, lacking the seasons does take it's toll on me in that I get bored with 70-80 degrees every single day. -P
@@FStoppers Indeed, our family lived in St. Croix for most of my childhood (10+ years) and loved every minute of it, including the beautiful weather. We lived oceanfront on the Northwest side of the island "Countryside". Always the BEST sunsets on the West side! Every region has it's natural risks and vulnerabilities, agreed. California comes with it's fair share of faults including: droughts, fires, floods, mudslides, earthquakes and the toxic "political climate" that has lead many to abandon this once great State for more affordable and rational destinations. But hey that's a different topic. Maybe it is time to move back to the USVI :) Living on an island quickly teaches one how to be prepared, grateful and conservative in the use of all things. These lessons I've honored and cherished all my life. From my "limiited" experience conservation becomes essential and the "take it for granted entitlements" quickly abandoned in order to conform and reduce wasteful habits. If you live on an island you live by a different set of practical rules. As a family we would always be prepared with plumbers candles, lighters, matches, kerosene lamps, batteries, a gasoline generator, flashlights, full cistern, working well pumps, medical kit, bleach, two way radios, 55 gallon drums for rain water collection, machetes and a host of other survival ready contingencies. Thankfully we seldom ever needed to exercise many of these items. Good advice not matter your station, staying prepared in any environment is always a good idea. "Hurricane Parties" is what they were called in the mid to late 60s and 70s. That 4-12 hour lock down period in someones cinder block house was the safe haven until the storm passed and things settled down. Good times! I miss the beauty of it all and all the lessons learned. It's a wonderful place to call "home" and also visit. Puerto Rico wears the crown for one of the richest experiences in the Caribbean region. Gratefully.
Love all the PR videos! We are thinking about moving here with our 2 kids, Do you have any information about schools? Any or all information is super helpful! Thanks

Palmas del Mar in Humacao: Middle High Class and High Class. The only problem of living in Palmas is Having to go to San Juan and Work everyday. But most of the people here have Corporate Jobs or run they’re company’s from home.
It’s a very nice expat community, and expected to reflect the upper class visitors living there. I haven’t followed all of your videos while in PR, but if you haven’t already, some real local videos would be interesting. Compare and contrast. I’ve been an expat in London and Hong Kong for many years. Living more locally gave me the best experience and taste of those cultures (well, specifically HK and China). No criticisms, just more realistic. Big fan of your work...enjoy.
We do post some shoot out videos where we explore the island and show much of the natural beauty. Our intention was to interview a local couple who have lived here for years (most residents of Palmas are Puerto Rican and have been here for 20-50 years), but the scheduled time kept getting pushed back and this video had to go out (it's been done since Dec). If you visit Palmas Del Mar, you can see for yourself it's about 80/20 locals to expats. -P

Beautiful.
Just perfect! Does anyone know the name of the music/song used on this video ?
My God is that what you got out of this video?
Puerto Rico's Tourism Company should be very proud of this video... you guys make much better videos than they do...lol.
That's because is a state run entity and anything run by the state sucks.
My beautiful island ❤
Missing Home already!!! Nicely done!!!
WOULD LIKE TO APPLAY FOR SECTION 8 IN THE BEST PLACE TO LIVE IN P.R....
El Mar 🌊❤️🇵🇷
Puerto Rico is more than el Viejo San Juan and beautiful beaches.
Maybe it is time to move back to the USVI :)
Living on an island quickly teaches one how to be prepared, grateful and conservative in the use of all things.
Gratefully.
For some reason I feel like I want to go.
Don’t we don’t want you in the island.
Love all the PR videos! We are thinking about moving here with our 2 kids, Do you have any information about schools? Any or all information is super helpful! Thanks
Me encanto estuve una semana fuie maravilloso
Can anyone tell me if the food is good? Are there good resturants and grocery stores? Is there fine dinning? I've heard bad things about vegetables and meat in peurto Rico. Is the food dinning and groceries good in these upscale neighborhoods?
👏point👏blank👏period. Puerto Rico is insane 😍😍🔥🔥
YOUR IS INSANE ;PUERTO RICO IS A BEAUTIFUL ISLAND AND AMAZING PLACE TO LIVE. PALMA DEL MAR IS A GREAT AND BEAUTIFUL COMMUNITY. SAN JUAN, EL MORRO,EL YUNQUE,OBSERVATORIO DE ARECIBO, FLAMENCO BEACH AND ALL THE ISLAND ARE AMAZING WITH MANY BEAUTY PLACES .PUERTO RICO IS A PARADISE.
@@carlosfranco6577 I think they meant by "insane" as like really awesome, or pretty
God bless me with Lotto this is where I want to go but for now I prefer the Campo which is great too thank you for the video
The island has had some problems in the past... I'm working on moving there while the prices are low
Get out of PR you’re the problem.
is not the best place to live in Puerto Rico. choose any mountain town and it will be 100% better
I think it's what suits your lifestyle.
That's your opinion...no one cares..
I was watching a JLD video and this auto played after it - I totally thought it was a tourism video and was blown away at the quality of it. And then boom - it's you guys at FStoppers! Nice work!
Ha thanks! This video was just a fun project we did for FujiFilm and over time it's become the main recruitment video for Palmas Del Mar. Can't tell you how many people I've met who have moved here because of this video....maybe you are next? -P
Being from the island, this is truly the best spot in the whole carribean to raise a family.
Went there back in the '93. It was absolutely stunning. Spent the whole day there eating swimming and talking to folks from all over the globe. Then I had to go back to the hood in Caguas. Talk about a downgrade
I would LOVE to live here if I could afford it. I would need a place with no stairs. That would be a priority. Have been visiting since the early 1990s.
If you could afford it? Dude Puerto Rico is one of the most affordable places lol
@@jujasname palmas del mar is expensive
jujasnames j not Palmas de Mar. It’s is a community for rich people. There are better places than Palmas that are more affordable.
im puerto rican and puerto rico got other places to it looks like ya dont know About PR❤️🇵🇷
Ok, I'm sold!
Thank you for the information
Good work!
Palmas del Mar in Humacao: Middle High Class and High Class. The only problem of living in Palmas is Having to go to San Juan and Work everyday. But most of the people here have Corporate Jobs or run they’re company’s from home.
Especially with the DTOP assholes working at PR-30 during the day causing unnecessary congestion.
Fstoppers Cheers.....
How is it an expat community when its Americans moving to another part of America technically?
@@nesq4104 yes, you are quite right. Just seems like an expat community.
@@MattKantecki I only brought that up because I tend to see a lot of "Americans" who move to Puerto Rico call themselves expats. It's like moving from New York to ohio and calling yourself an expat. But I get your point
What the? I moved from PR to MD 8 years ago with my parents of course but I visit my dad and grandparents every year and I have never heard of this place o:
Hello beautiful Queen
I live in the island and this year is the first time I hear about this place, is more Americanized than anything...
Palmas is beautiful.the only downfall is, most hurricanes come in through there.Humacao, Yabucoa.
Not one Puerto Rican in the video
I live in Puerto Rico lol and I wholeheartedly disagree with the title of this video...sure...Palmas is a great place to live in...if you're a tourist lol...there are so many awesome places in Puerto Rico that are 10 times better and way cheaper than the premier, most expensive neighborhood to live on the island.
Wow, you must be fun at parties. How about you name one and see if people agree with you. "10 times better"?
Al P currently hanging out in Rincon and although it has a cool vibe and I do like their food options and surfing, things like traffic and lack of good hardwired internet and cell service make life a bit more difficult. I do like it out here though, but Palmas is prob better on the grand scheme of things. -P
Freddie I. False. The most expensive area is Dorado Beach East. Second would be Palmas del Mar.
Where can I get more information?
Awesome!!
This isnt PR...this is a millionaires club....
Que carajo dices??? what shit you talking about? I’m from Humacao and yes this is Palmas del mar close to Buena Vista and Candelero Abajo mijo busca informacion y fotos o ve visita el area Este Humacao para que no quede en ridiculo tu comentario 😂😂😂🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️
You guys arw amazing. Ive been researshing schools and real estate, and palmas del mar looks like a place where i'd want to raise my kids at. God Bless
God bless puerto rico.... Always in my heart..
Where do I sign?
