    If you open a wet wipe pack for a couple days it'll dry out. Then when you are hunting if it happens to get wet it won't fall apart like TP, it will just be a wet wipe again. And if they are dry you could also use them for tinder like TP also

    Great vid Brady. You may want to just step on a scale with just your hunting clothes and then do it again with your pack and weapon. I find this more accurate. Also on a side note. My company works with google and Microsoft on a corporate level. Google is very anti hunting and Microsoft has a handful of people that hunt. You do you, but I have a hard time now using google products. Good luck in your hunts in 2022 every. 🤜🏼🤛🏼

    Never realized how much of a gear nerd I was until I started watching these videos. Have my first elk hunt this year and will be a base camp/backpack hunt. Hoping for more elk/deer related gear videos closer to the fall!

    That’s a pretty comprehensive list! You should consider some Hammers for that RUM, not cheap but the availability is consistent and they hit hard

    @Brady Miller Why'd you take the ATX over the BTX since for bear you don't really need a lot of zoom for judging antlers? Weight saving? I'm trying to decide which one to buy between the two. Thanks!

    Would you know what type of a carrying system one could use for archery? I plan on going out w/ a bow. And still a but clueless on what to use for my bow. TYIA.

      I thought about it long and hard. The place I'm going this year it would be nice to have the BTX. But I'm thinking about leaving it home which really hurts to say because since I paid for it... I want to use it.

    • @bradymiller6317
      @bradymiller6317 2 роки тому +1

      I wouldn't use it as I don't want to pack the weight. Ticks are annoying, but not the end of the world for me. It might be a good solution if you're doing a basecamp.

    Hey Brady can you break down why you switched bipods?

    • @bradymiller6317
      @bradymiller6317 2 роки тому +1

      Happy to help explain that, Jamie. So the main reason I made the switch was wanting something that was a little more veristile without giving up stability. Back in 2020 when bear hunting, a situation that presented itself was where I was anticipating a bear to show up on a steep mountain I glassed him up before, so we moved in and got setup off an old closed logging road. So before the bear showed up, I got behind my gun and tried to see if I could take a shot and did some dry fire practice. I tried my normal 7-10" bipod and I couldn't lay prone behind it if a bear showed up. I then tried to put my backpack upright to see if I could get stabile enough and I didn't feel confident. So what I did was snag the bipod from Neville's rifle (his went a lot taller) and I found I could comfortably get behind his bipod to shoot, but to me, the legs were a little to wobbly to make a shot. It turned out the bear didn't show up on that steep mountain, and I was able to take the bear that afternoon with a normal low bipod height setup. So that just got me thinking that I needed something else to accommodate some other situations when mule deer hunting. So I searched and did a ton of research before buying that MDT bipod. And just like everyone, I paid full price for that bipod. It hurt to buy, but I have no regrets and I've now taken a ton of animals with the new bipod. Does my other bipod still work? Absolutely. But I just wanted something that could cover a little more situations, have more adjustments and still be rock solid. Hope that helps. Great, great question!

    As a woman watching these I'm like 90% sure my most important piece of gear for the backcountry is a boyfriend lol. I need to try and go as lightweight as possible, so I have to spend a lot of time planning every piece of gear, and my philosophy is to take multi purpose items, make compromises, and if needed be a bit inventive since I can't just muscle through it like the boys can.

      Haha, just probably thinking about my love of ticks ;) Sometimes on these I emphasize things too hard as the number of people who like to rip apart the gear I use as they take these videos and in-depth articles I do and assume that what I talk about means my gear is the only way to hunt (which I never would say), or they try to rip into what my gear costs (and then I have to dive in to the lengths I go through to use the gear I love). You'd be surprises at the comments on old gear list videos and articles. But if I can help one person out on a piece of gear they didn't think about, or a tactic that helps them be more successful... that means the world to me.
