  • On Monday, Calgary-based discount airline Lynx Air, which launched a mere two years ago, ceased operations. For customers, that means they’re likely not getting refunds and will have to find alternate and possibly more expensive tickets to their destinations.

I had a terrible experience with Lynx in Jan. I wanted to fly to Van for my stepfather's birthday. I looked for flights to leave Wpg on Thursday and return on Sunday. Flight on Sunday was late morning so I could easily get the airport on the Canada Line. Perfect. I had meetings on Wednesday and Monday so the flights were perfect. I booked these flights 3 months in advance. 1 week before my flight, my Thursday flight was moved to Monday. Yeah. They said I could cancel and book another airline. Too late for that. OK fine. I sucked it up, moved my meetings and arranged to work remotely. Then, they moved my return flight (Sunday) to a 6AM flight on Monday. Yeah. So I had to reschedule another day of work AND I could not get to the airport on Canada Line (first train is at 5AM). Again, not enough time to find another airline. I would never fly them again. And I guess I never will!
