1) Too long for today's 37 minute format, though watching Drew try to play Skee Ball would be a trip... And it's a nice game of lots of suspense. The problem is that the game is too long for "We Must Jam Every Commercial Known To Mankind", AKA the current version of the show. 2) Without the gun for obvious reasons, the main problem might be too similar to a lot of the other grocery games now. Wasn't a bad game at all! 3) This is a yes. Hit Me was retired for being "too hard" for the contestants. It's a simple game, around the game of blackjack. Especially with the generic non-fee plug fee plugs, this is one which should be brought back. 4) Probably a victim of the Mikey Richards Dark Era. As you noted, it had pedigree all the way back to the show's beginnings with Give or Keep -- and one or the other really should be on the show. 5) A victim of time, frankly. It's Double Prices for three prizes, with The Monty Hall Problem and $500 thrown in. That's really all it is. So there's duplicity and probably time, maybe a splash of budget as well. And the Drew rookie mistake is nothing compared to the time a model actually gave away a car in Five Price Tags, or when a production error showed all three prices immediately in Ten Chances! 6) Oh God. Time, the logistics of at-home contestants, etc. and so forth. It was a great game and gave a new dimension to The Price is Right, around the time of the episodes on the Barker Era streaming channels... Would not work today for about 5 or 6 different reasons. 7) GAH!!!! And that could be a problem, as many of us who attended the show knew. 8) Yeah, between the Technical Win you described and the prop issues... Yeah... 9) That one's not happening, and the game itself is a point of much contention in the streaming reruns. As of right now, issues with the oversexualization of the models in Bump (at least in their opinion -- otherwise why would some of the other episodes air when it looked like at least one model was falling out of her swimsuit/bikini??) have actually had all Bump episodes (save one erroneous airing) removed from the early part of the game's run on the Barker Era streaming channels. It could also be that game (and how to eventually deal with it's over 200 playings) that could be holding up future Barker Era episodes at all! 10) That's a victim of the decreasing number of three-digit prizes, more than anything. Otherwise, nothing wrong with this game at all.
3) At first I thought you said "The MARY Richards Dark Era". Mary Richards was too nice to have any dark sides. She worked with Lou, Ted, Murray, and Gordy after all, and was dear friends with Rhoda and Phyllis to boot.
To The Penny is the update edition of Penny Ante. It is played with five grocery items and a chance to win up to twenty Five Grand. It is more challenging with five grocery items. I would make these changes to sons existing games. 1. Increase the top prize on Plinko to 100 Grand. 2. Increase Grand Game to 20 Grand. 3.Adjust the display contrast & brightness on some of as one of the games (Now and Then). 4. Increase the target price to $8.00 on Grand Game.
1: Plinko was played for a million, with $200,000 as the top prize in the middle. It is home to the biggest winner on the Daytime TPIR. (Said contestant won $202,000.) 2: It's already happened. 3: It's yet to be seen, but it needs to happen. 4: They have since increased the target price due to inflation.
1. What really need to happen is that the outside values need to be increased ($500, $1,000, $2,500). 2. No it hasn’t. 3. I don’t really know what that means. 4. IIRC, the target price for Grand Game changes from playing to playing.
Super Ball for cash prizes I like. Super Saver I like your idea of if you reach $1.00 in less than 4 choices, you win automatically. Maybe add a cash bonus if a player is able to do so in just 3 picks. Buy Or Sell was somewhat confusing, but was retooled as More or Less, which still has 3 base prizes plus a car at the end, so if only for that reason, I'd say Buy or Sell is not needed as that would be somewhat redundant (e.g. Easy as 1-2-3 & Clearance Sale). Barker's Markers should return definitely! To the Penny is kind of a Penny Ante game of sorts. Bump seemed to be replaced with Switch?, another poster made my point about It's In The Bag being a retooled Phone Home Game, Hit Me was a sensational game, Hurdles was awesome, Poker Game I could take or leave though, but I did love love love Poker Game's game board!
They brought back the Phone Home Game in 1997 as It’s In the Bag. The game is played better as IITB since the contestants don’t have to share their winnings with a home viewer.
I’ve been watching tpir since the mid 80’s. I’ve always loved Bob but Drew is doing a great job now. I still watch it faithfully every day! ( now into their 50th anniversary year)
Super Ball can arguably be brought back as Money Ball, with a top prize of say, $30,000. The board would basically be a regular Skee Ball board, with the following layout: - Gutter (or an outright miss): $0 - Outer Ring: $1,000 - Second Ring: $2,000 - Third Ring: $3,000 - Bull's Eye: $5,000 - Corner Pocket: $10,000 The player would have to win all 3 balls just like in Super Ball (same process and everything), but as opposed to Plinko which is entirely luck-based, Money Ball would depend primarily on the throwing skill of the player. And it wouldn't take an exceedingly long time to play, either.
I agree. I think those games should come back. In fact I think The Price is Right should do a special tribute episode to Bob Barker when he passes away, and bring back 6 retired pricing games. And also get rid of That's Too Much and Gas Money.
My favorite retired game that should come back is Penny Ante. I remember Hit me well. I bet if Hit me were to retire today, it would be because the host of the game suggests a contestant punching the host lol.
We now have To The Penny which is a revamped version of Penny Ante. The game works like this: You start with 5 pennies. There are five grocery items, each with a choice between 2-6 different prices for that respective item (only one is the correct price). Each time you guessed the correct price, you won an escalating cash prize which can be taken home at any time. The top prize is $25,000. You can also use your pennies for a few things. You can remove one incorrect choice from the board for 1 penny each, or continue on an incorrect guess for 2 pennies. If you guess incorrectly and don't have enough pennies to continue, the game ends with you winning nothing.
I remember back when Drew Carey was still married he actually had his wife model for an episode but I think since that episode they got divorced so they could bring bump back and it’s original format but I would think if they did bring it back, they would tone down on the sexual aspect of the game
7:43 Too hard for contestants to know? Weird since there is a casino on every block now.

I had read Buy Or Sell was retired because More Or Less debuted and the producers liked it better
Poker Game should be played with grocery item for a bonus prize.
That would be curious. Use the prices of grocery items?
@@willmack5909 Instead of playing for 3 digit prizes... Play it for 4 grocery items, same rules apply if they win they win a bonus prize.
The other reason Hurdles got retired is because it had the same concept of the Grand Game.
20:25 just use the last three numbers for the Poker Game
The Credit Card game should be brought back.

More like retire Stack the Deck because we rarely have winners on that game
@@jackcroley9004 I said stack the deck. But I know the reason behind why they retired Step Up
“That’s Too Much!”? Maybe. Gas Money? Nah. I quite like that one. Also, if I were in charge, I would either retire Stack the Deck or revise it.
@@petercolbeysgameshowmania7176 Gas money played similar to danger price. However it's played just like the game show Trivia Trap.
@@LittleRockElevatorsandmore I just came up with an equation for this game-Gas Money = Danger Price + 5 Price Tags
Poker Game should be brought back.I could also see Hit Me make a comeback.
Agree. In "Poker Game" with four-digit prizes, the first number can be omitted.
Y does he gas Mask on if his alone, when i'm alone i don't use It.
There was a playing of BUMP where Ray Combs promoted the reboot of Family Feud on CBS starting on July 4th, 1988.

I agree with the list man on what should be brought back. They brought back Penny Anne with To The Penny man.
Sort of. I consider it a spiritual successor.
i love the price is right.
Hey, how come you stopped making vids so often?
Busy. Getting ready to move, so I don't have a lot of free time. I can't seem to get five minutes to myself right now.
@@NerdNest83 Ah, that's fair enough. Life is more important than UA-cam. Good luck with the move!
2020 was actually pretty good for me.
Phone Home game: no, though I do like people winning from home. Play Along feature should be brought back.
I like the "Give and Keep" game.
the price is right

Super Ball I agree with you. Bring it back for cash.
Though I like Hit Me, it should stay retired. Too many people did not understand Blackjack.
Penny Ante is now To The Penny.
I would love for split decision and credit card to return
Buy or Sell: too complicated
the price is right
