- I had the opportunity to try the new Zulu X from Aerodyne.
Size: 102 - Wing load 1.75
My first impression was WOW and the WOW remained through all the jumps I made on it. Consistent Soft and On-Heading openings. Powerful flare and super easy to land in no wind conditions.
The canopy has a steep angle of attack and a long recovery arch, therefore not for beginners.
Light-to-steer rear risers making recovery from long spots an easy job. Important to mention the canopy has a way better range flying on rears than half brakes.
Super responsive on harness inputs. A simple harness turn creates speed enough for a safe & fun landing.
I’m super happy with the performance of the canopy, and I've just ordered one.
I just ordered a Zulu X 172, are the openings kinda hard/positive? I’m not seeing much snivel
The openings are positive, but not hard and on heading. Very important to set the slider properly. You can push the nose of the canopy inside (roll the nose) just before rolling the tail to add a little delay.
I'm curious to know how it jumps, once you get it. What are you loading?
@@TheChaboikin My Wingloading is 1,77. The canopy flares nicely, opens on heading and flies well on rears.
What is the difference in the Zulu X and the original I just bought a Zulu X 132
Hi. I haven't jumped the original Zulu but I'm super happy with the Zulu X.
Is this the new version of the old Mamba?
Hi Steve. No connection at all between Mamba and Zulu X.
@@TheSkydivingTherapist That's too bad... mamba was awesome. Maybe this is a similar category.
