Hey great video I think you really hit all the points nicely. One quick lesser known fact is that Madison was originally modeled off of Geneva, Switzerland which makes a lot of sense when you look at it as a whole.
❤ hi 👋 thank you so very much for the informative video..i been asking around so much about Madison... Hopefully I will get to come and visit before i make my move there ...
End of Summer or beginning of Fall are the peak times to visit imo. If you're on the fence, just do it. If nothing else you'll eat some good food, see Wisconsin's capital, and enjoy a nice cool and beautiful fall landscape.
Some good information here, but your statement that Madison's politics are evenly divided between liberal and conservative is insane.. While that might be true of Wisconsin as a whole, Madison is one of the most overwhelmingly liberal/progressive cities in the US. That's not exactly a secret, and I find it hard to believe that anybody who's ever lived here wouldn't know that.
I spent some time in Madison this past weekend for the first time. It was absolutely beautiful and we had a great time, but it’s very obviously a liberal leaning city. Just drive close to the capitol building and you can see that.
I've lived in Madison for 24 years, it's great, I love Madison! I love it, but to just dwell on the few bad things about it for a moment: • the homeless beggars can be aggressive (the city is very safe overall though) • Most mid-priced restaurants are of low quality • Lots of marijuana, lots, it’s everywhere • traffic is bad bc the lakes bottle things up - lots and lots and lots of street construction • Housing and rents are too expensive • Good luck trying to find a dine-in coffee shop open after 8 p.m. - The winters can be brutal, but just like any Midwestern city
You can search recent crime activity on this link here - communitycrimemap.com/?address=Madison,%20WI It's a mixed community and you'll notice high priced luxury homes along the lake shore and lower priced properties not on the lake.
. Madison is divided politically? Really? Do you really live there? Also the schools are pretty decent. But to say that Madison is split is absolutely ridiculous.
If you're going to complain about people whining, I would at least expect you to be able to behave in a youtube comment section without, well, whining.

It's the most ridiculous thing I've heard, for sure. In fact the reputation is known all over for being quite liberal.
@@dubhtail eh, I'd say Madison is more progressive than liberal. Liberal =/= progressive.

I'll keep living in Eau Claire
Nearly all big cities are liberal.

West side for life yo
huh? Dane county voted like 75%-25% for Biden. The surrounding counties are pretty split 50-50 though
A.K.A. The People's Republic of Madistan. Need one say more? 90 square miles surrounded by reality.
Aw, did the liberals hurt your feelings? It’ll be okay little buddy
@ozzyistheking21 What are you on and where can I buy some?

I am proud to say, yes, I have lived in Madison and the surrounding communities for most of my life!
it doesn't cost so much to be respectful
Equally divided??? They don't call it The People's Republic of Madistan for nothing.
Madison blows. Left 20 years ago, don’t miss it.
High taxes, bad weather, wokesters, drunkards, bad roads. Need I say more
You haven't missed much except the constitution of the New and waist full bus system and pro soccer team
Thanks!
I lived in Madison for twenty years, it sucks! Nothing but whiners!
Well then, sounds like you really are from Madison!
