In answer to your question. Yes, I like when you're explaining something and you go back and go more into detail about it. You seem to have a good balance of when to and when not to do that.
Is there anything wrong with feet cause i don't get he stuff? i saw a post blizzard made abut kiri and all the comments were saying it was disgusting but i don't get it it's just FEET or is there a deeper reason behind the feet talk?
Love it! I've been playing Overwatch since S1 Overwatch 1, and no other content creators go over the "secrets" like you do, and to learn about timing and positioning in such an in-depth way is super helpful, and probably the quickest way to improve in the ranks. Obviously, clicking heads is important, but so is cutting off LOS and knowing when to re-group or ult, etc. which is why you see cheaters get absolutely demolished sometimes because of their poor positioning and lack of understanding.
I used to watch Jayne all the time back before owl was a thing, and I used the way he broke vod reviews down to really teach me things about the game that I had never thought about when playing video games and fps games in particular. More breakdowns is always welcome!
Jaynes VOD review series and coaching is what got me out of bronze and into High Gold back in OW1. Breaking stuff down truly helps, because to helps players understand more clearly why something did/didn't work. It's much more useful than just watching a streamer and trying to copy a play they made without understanding why it was done.
I appreciate the more detailed breakdowns, as a less experienced player I find a lot of guides oversimplifying things but the more in depth look helps explain *why* it’s necessary to do x play
Torb wants Winston on that map while still playing Torb WTF. Glad they make it easier to hide chat from certain players (I wonder if you only hide it or do not register it on your client).
I just wanna say, I've been playing overwatch since it came out, and ever since I found this channel, this is the most I've learned on how to play it properly. I have been bingeing these videos while at work lol. This is awesome content 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 please keep it up
Yeah I love the breakdowns. One thing you COULD do though is add which rank it is you're spectating on the screen when you're doing it though, would maybe keep people from asking.
I played Sigma against a Doomfist on circuit royale in QP a while ago and I hit him with accretion almost every time he used his block. At one point he slammed in and I got him right before he landed and we slaughtered him. He was a decent DF (better than me anyway) but they lost pretty hard and he wrote something in the chat like "This team was trash" and I only ever talk shit to anyone when they do it first, especially about their own team, so my reply was "You'd think after you ate 3 or 4 rocks in a row you would try something else tho"
I started playing Sigma really heavy during the brawl meta. I prefer to up close brawl with Sigma as often as I can but as Emongg said. . it nearly requires a slow comp like going up against ana/zen. If the enemy tank has an Ana, my brawl REQUIRES I shield BEHIND their tank, cutting off their Ana for at least 1-3 seconds while she repositions. And you have to communicate to your team when you're going to do that and to push the tank together, not always killing the tank but at least making them want to give up space and reposition.
The break down question, yes. Keep doing it for sure. I'm merely gold/plat but a big part of why i like these is to learn to play better and it totally has helped. So more indepth moments to talk about specifics is really helpful actually.
As a new player for OW i love the breakdowns since it explains so much more things that looks natural for older players but not so much for anyone new/spectators
I can't see a single reason why that Torb thought Sigma should swap. They were cancelling nearly every enemy flux and shatter, against a very organised team. I also can't help but notice the Torb expected him to swap, without ever swapping himself.
yeah I think this was definitely on the DPS the pharah was pharah for way too long considering they had widow and ashe and the torb was really struggling for most of that defence I think people always expect the tank to swap without ever swapping themselves to help the tank
@@DRandR1productionz exactly, counterswapping is almost never a purely tank-based job, unless the rest of the lobby is a mirror, there's always someone else who can help. Running Torb into a Widow/Ashe is crazy business on that map. Unless you're hitting every headshot from behind cover, you're just not winning against double hitscan. And the sombra hacking their turret off cooldown? Poor pharah had to swap to Cass just to help out. 100% not Sig's fault whatsoever, the Torb was just presented with a challenge and took the easy way out, blaming someone else, instead of asking himself what he could do better.
Keep it up, your breakdowns are very well done and intelligently thought out in a way that makes sense to your average OW player. Thats what helps people grow, seeing why they made a mistake
I think it's good to break things down, but it's important to have an idea of where the audience is in terms of rank. A bronze player doesn't really need to optimize their gameplay a ton from a positioning and value perspective because those players are at the "know what the abilities do and turn on your monitor" phase. A breakdown of positioning and ult tek for those players is useless because they don't even have the mechanics (typically) to back it up, so those good habits go to waste even if they do understand and use them. Maybe base it on what rank the player being spectated is in?
Been really enjoying the vids and have learned a lot since coming back to OW, Emongg! In response to the feedback request: Yes -- enjoy the additional breakdowns. I think it would be possible to over do it, but for key examples like this one, bring it on! Maybe one or two per vid on average would be great?
14:52 tip for ulting against a sombra! wait until she hacks u the first time then use ult after the ability lockout ends, bc u r untargetable by manual hack until the rest of hacks effects end.
As a silver player who likes playing tank and supp, I thoroughly enjoy the breakdowns. I've only been playing for about a year so there's so much I don't know
This Sigma was amazing, even though the torb expected a swap, Sigma did everything and anything to win, but ofc with a lot of mistakes. Imo, if Mercy wasnt attached to Pharahs hip and constantly dying, they could have survived the final 3rd round push. Torb and Ana did pretty well
9:12 ok, I watched the first round and he has good mechanics, but I would've 100% switched the moment they went brig. He was totally unable to contest the payload at all. He should've gone Winston, maybe rammatra.
15:45 Yes please! I enjoy watching these videos because i find them entertaining, but there is limited educational value in them for me. I understand why it is that way, though. The series is called "Spectating", not "Coaching", so it's not meant to get into the nitty-gritty of it all. I just personally like it when knowledgeable people gets into the nitty-gritty of things, Learning is fun
I love it when it when u break it down absolutely no hate to flats i watch almost every vid love him but in his breakdowns he sticks more to the negatives 90% of overwatch viewers arent top 500/GM and all could improve i love the breakdowns that could teach me something
I love emongg and all his content and been a fan for a long time. but I need to say and I know this shouldn’t even annoy me but emongg has never pronounced the G in anything that ends in “ing”. My heart yearns for a proper “ing” just once
Dude would be masters in OW1 rank deflation in 2 is crazy I'm Silver 5 with my tank and these games are sweaty as hell I think the Bronze players literally got filtered out of the game
It's not that he is "the issue". The torb is just trying to suggest something that he thinks would win in that situation. You taking it personally made you an issue.
5:19 is it weird that I think they were too focused on the enemy tank? I would have thrown a rock at them and shot at the widow a little while theyre stunned to make the widow back off. It makes me wonder if IM playing the wrong way tbh
Honestly I love the full breakdown of each thought process. I don’t think it takes away from the glow of the video
Agreed... sometimes I skip them but mostly we're all here because we enjoy it
I dont even play overwatch, but its still fun to watch

In answer to your question. Yes, I like when you're explaining something and you go back and go more into detail about it. You seem to have a good balance of when to and when not to do that.
Yesss. I love it when you go back and do into detail about a play. Especially when its from the enemies perspective
w
I knew this was going to be a tough fight as soon as I saw that they were going up against both "WintonFeet" AND "ILoveFeet"
16:07 Yes. It’s important to explain your reasoning.
I love how he showed chat when he asked if we wanted him to break it down, and the first thing that I saw was "i love feet" 16:00
That was one of the players in the vod as well.
@@andguentand the other dps was named "Wintonfeet" so they're probably duo'd, truly an Overwatch moment
You'd think the feet people would be sigma mains?
@@andguent that's probably why their tank was playing Sig, they asked very nicely so they could admire them from the backline
Is there anything wrong with feet cause i don't get he stuff?
i saw a post blizzard made abut kiri and all the comments were saying it was disgusting but i don't get it it's just FEET or is there a deeper reason behind the feet talk?
Always love the full breakdowns. Those kinda discussions are what got me to plat and I am always grateful for the nuance.

That Torb had a pocket healer in a private voice chat is my guess and they were displeased that the tank was taking damage
The replay viewer doesn't display chat that occurred during the game if that's what you're asking in the parentheses.
I just wanna say, I've been playing overwatch since it came out, and ever since I found this channel, this is the most I've learned on how to play it properly. I have been bingeing these videos while at work lol.
This is awesome content 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 please keep it up
0:28 this is why I love emongg sm 😭
the full breakdowns are more effective on yt tbh bc i can always go back and go back through these concrete examples you give and its rly nice
Yeah I love the breakdowns. One thing you COULD do though is add which rank it is you're spectating on the screen when you're doing it though, would maybe keep people from asking.
15:50 yes sirrr!!! Extra knowledge is always a good thing brother❤
18:55 when you’re on different teams, but still share the same brain

I think the breakdown is very informative and useful. Sometimes you notice something that flew right over my head so I love to have your insight!
15:55 absolutely yes, literally it helps so much to hear your feedback bro, love these vod reviews
Me when my tailor just did an okay job : alright sew.
Yes, love the rewind-breakdowns. Very helpful
2:36 HE FINALLY THREW A ROCK! IT TOOK TWO AND A HALF MINUTES BUT HE FINALLY ROCKED SOMEONE!

Love the breakdowns. It helps me understand and adapt my own play better. It's informative and entertaining.
Oh I absolutely love the breakdowns it really helps to give perspective and shows things we may not see
Love it when you break stuff down
i love the breakdowns! it’s helped me get better at making correct decisions and better positioning. good idea to do them!

i think he's been doing a good job
The breakdowns are amazing and have helped me make better plays in my games!
You're giving me a different look on how to play support with my tanks. Continue the breakdowns please and thank you!!
ALRIIGHT SO!!!
The full breakdowns are very helpful!!
i PARTICULARLY love the breakdowns!
I honestly can’t see a single reason why the torb should be talkin shit and asking signs to switch.
The breakdowns help me as a player
Sigma is my tank main and I love him. I love playing against other sigs because they’re long and action-packed
In that OT breakdown with saving Ana she was also at 94% ult charge
The Sigma 1v1 feels a little like rock, paper, scissors with how his abilities interact.
That's true actually lmfao
15:50 yes, please go on and give more explanation and reasoning
the youtube audience can always fast forward through parts they don't want to watch. there's never "too much" info for a youtube video.

Gotta love the enemy Widow named "ilovefeet" 😂

When enemy has sombra, you just dont get to use ult as sigma. You just cant. What a fun and engaging character!
That sigma ult that you were talking about. I felt that.
This submitter ROCKED!!!
yeah i like the breakdown i enjoy learning more
Sigma just might be the best designed character in the game.
The break down is great cuz some people wouldn't understand if you just say it "good"
More full breakdowns please. Even if its just I saw this so I then think do this.
This Sigma was amazing, even though the torb expected a swap, Sigma did everything and anything to win, but ofc with a lot of mistakes. Imo, if Mercy wasnt attached to Pharahs hip and constantly dying, they could have survived the final 3rd round push. Torb and Ana did pretty well

the funny thing about sigma vs sigma is that its like playing rock paper scissors
shield < rock
rock < eat
eat < shield
yea! the breakdowns are good
16:07 More detailed breakdowns please (and thank you) :)
I love it when it when u break it down absolutely no hate to flats i watch almost every vid love him but in his breakdowns he sticks more to the negatives 90% of overwatch viewers arent top 500/GM and all could improve i love the breakdowns that could teach me something
It’s crazy cause someone could play like this then next game get a dps or healer who is wondering around with a shoe lace untied
Yes we love the breakdowns
Keep the breakdowns!
There are few things in this game more respectable than sig mirrors and rein mirrors
okay serious question, whats so wrong with jumping alot? wouldnt it make your head hitbox harder to hit?
Also, doesn't the vortex recover your deployable shields HP?
Crazy cuz Winston against their team is actually good
I love emongg and all his content and been a fan for a long time. but I need to say and I know this shouldn’t even annoy me but emongg has never pronounced the G in anything that ends in “ing”. My heart yearns for a proper “ing” just once

Counterswap culture in OW2 was a mistake. It makes the character issue argument the strongest critique, not skill issue.
It's not that he is "the issue". The torb is just trying to suggest something that he thinks would win in that situation. You taking it personally made you an issue.
Yeah break down works for me

15:50 yes I do

What in the "born after 2012" was that description paragraph at the beginning
I think i can diff this tank (i am bronze gorilla otp)…
your torb positioning was certanly the positioning of all time, holy. honestly you did a pretty good job, and your torb was pretty much ass.
Bro if you dont pause and explain I will go watch a spilo video instead. Love you!
Watch this in .5x speed, and thank me later!! 😂😂😂

ALRIGHT SO!!

pretty good sigma ngl. Like Holy hell he's good at denying the enemy Tank any value. Like VERY good.
Well, obviously not perfect.
Winton goes insanely hard against that comp. I whip out the monke any chance I get.
