I’m going to get Scorn day one, and I’m going to make a Gambit Machine gun deck with Scorn and Misery and I will be happy even if the deck is bad
she'll be my first instant buy in a long time since I do love modok Discard
As a non-hela discard main, I am definitely getting Scorn. Helps that I also don't have Jean but if I pull Scorn before Jean then I'll just save and get Jean another day.
Hopefully Discard can eat good with this engine and I'm excited.
I cant WAIT for Scorn. I play classic Discard all the time and win against really good players all the time using it.
I like to use Moon Girl with my Collector/Discard. I think it will be even better with Scorn being copied.
Here is my perspective as a hardcore discard fan:
Scorn looks like a promising card, it's an obvious alternative to Swarm, and i am really curious to see how she will perform, i hope her release also means that we see more people experimenting with Discard packedges as a whole again. I am unsure how to say it, but even though she seems to be a strong card, i kind of doubt that she will make Apoc Discard meta again in her current form. But i do think she will be a noticeable Upgrade to the archetype as a whole. At worst, i can put her in a Discard Deck and stop worrying about drawing Swarm on Turn 6 when i might want/need to play Modoc on Turn 6 for several reasons and this case alone is enough for me to buy her.
Within classic Discard Scorn, she has two big differences to Swarm:
1. Her buff mechanic theoretically can scale less than Swarms self multiplication, but in exchange, she doesn't take as much hand and board space. Scorn has a higher possible ceiling overall, other synergies with cards like Shaw, Daken or Scarlet Spider (even thou i doubt they are viable). On the other hand, Scorn has slightly less synergy with Collector and no advantage on certain locations that want to be filled up fast. Buffing as mechanic also means that Scorn is better against clog but more vulnerable against Shadow King.
2. Her default cost is 1 instead of 2 power. And this may be a bigger deal than you think -> not only changes this Scorn's interactions with many of the targeted discard effects,
BUT
Like i said it also fixes one of the biggest weaknesses/annoyances of "Classic Dependable Discard" since the American Chavez change: if you want/need to play Modoc on turn 6, you often run into the danger of drawing Swarm before you can discard or play him (mostly T6), possibly reducing the chance that your Dracula hits Apoc down to a 1/3 at worst. (The option of running Corvus Glaive could already kinda fix that, but it is rarely worth it as you do not always draw him, and his effect with 2 random discards always runs the danger of dicarding your other key cards)
Now with Scorn, you always should be able to empty your hand without big problems; (except you if you run Helicarrier, but i dont consider that classic discard, and even if you do it's a lot more manageable as drawing Swarm last turn)
I know i mostly rambled on about a little edge case here that only applies to less than 10% of games, but i truly believe that this one of the most frustrating things about Classic Discard currently. Drawing Swarm T6 can and will make you lose otherwise save games out of "nowhere" that you would have won otherwise. Or in other words, it made snapping before you drew Swarm a huge gamble even though you drew every other key card.

Since I have Surfer I've been saving keys so I can for sure get Shaw. I wouldn't mind getting Scorn for discard, even if I don't have Dracula yet.

Big discard fan! Definitely gonna get Scorn! Maybe Jean too. Guardians control is a thing so is war machine ongoing. Maybe we can have some cool brews. Thanks for the great explanation. The problem in discard Dracula was that if you didn't have apocalypse in hand, threre was practically no plan b.
How about using Moongirl to get 2 Scorns that are already boosted. Modok on T5.

Can see Scorn finding a niche in machine gun Gambit-type decks, as both a contingency for Swarm and Apoc while able to put somewhat decent stats on the board.
Everywhere else seems like a dud unless Scorn can create her own archetype. Hela is obviously very selective with its discarding (e.g. Sif but only if Hela is not in hand or both Hela and Death are in hand), and even Traditional Discard is selective in that it wants to focus discards on Apocalypse and use cards like Moon Knight to discard Swarm/Proxima.
Scorn wants to be in a deck that doesn't care too much about what it discards from hand, where a card that regenerates and adds value isn't too bad. There aren't many existing Discard decks actually doing that.
Corvus decks.... And they nerfed Hellcow to discard one card only :(

Red Guardian doesn't counter Scorn, as Scorn is not meant to be played.
Scorn counter is Doctor Octopus or Baron Zemo.
Red Guardian indirectly counters Scorn - Scorn will love Morbius & Dracula which both get hard countered by Red Guardian.
1. After Scorn and Surtur in November traditional discard will never really exist anymore. There will be 4 or five different discard type of decks with various win conditions and finally traditional discard will be forgotten.
2. Never play red guardian with white widdow... is a waste. Wait for WW rework and play red guardian in decks as a counter to something important such as a Wong.
3. Scream is good :P but is played in the wrong type of deck :P
Looking for some advice i have 4 keys and 7000 tokens i will be getting scorn and toxin i need to cards from each. I'm not sure who to use keys on.

I think that Scorn is a very interesting card, and i'm playing discard specially to complete bounties, but unfortunately, i'm going to skip her because i have 2 keys saved for Toxin and maybe Elsa Bloodstone, and i'm afraid that if i use them now, i could get a repeated card, or Sebastian Shaw who is just good on Surfer decks only. I'm one of those guys who has full inked discard, I think im gonna use tokens to get scorn and revive the OG discard deck
Will probs buy her with tokens to be honest, genuinely a really exciting card that looks really fun to play
Hey Docty I have a question. Do you think they should give some kind of compensation to players who got a card after it gets nerfed?
Normally - No. They are very vocal about OTA/Patch schedules and they buff/nerf cards all the time. Hearthstone gave refunds for nerfed cards but rarely nerfed cards; it's a completely different system.
The exception being a card that gets nerfed ASAP. I wouldn't mind cards that get nerfed within 30 days of release [or a different short time frame] to be compensated ~500 tokens or some small but meaningful amount.
Discarding her a bunch and playing scorn + Modok on 6 is gonna feel great

you should really only pull if you have 4 keys. keep 6k tokens for situations like this. easier said than done I know, but you really shouldn't pull unless you have 4 keys

If one wants to play discord she can be insane but if one has no desire to play discard then she's the easiest skip of this month. Saying that I highly doubt she will be discarded more then two times a game
