It's great that we have these conversations because if you aren't already in freelance work or something similar, many of us come in not knowing anything about this process. I think these numbers can definitely serve as a solid base, but there are so many factors that go into it, as you stated. It's annoying when company's solely go by following, but the right company WILL PAY. So, if you're reading this, please do not settle. You can charge 4-figures well under 10K followers as long as you have the quality content and learn how to communicate your worth effectively.

Omg I was a beauty influencer and before I stop posting I was at 27k followers with great engagement on videos I would get 80,000 views on post sometimes 30k views,20k views and on pictures I would get 2k-3k likes and on one photo 100-200 comments I had many brands I worked with and charged nothing !!!! I’m about to start back and I’m charging them all once I build my engagement back ! It takes so much hard work to create content ! Lesson learned 💯
This is interesting I'm nano influencer ( I make hair videos) and honestly the hrs it takes to do my hair then edit a video is alot of working. I'm over getting free product. I truly feel like I should be charging more than what the standard price is.
If you feel that way then charge more! You know your worth, back yourself and ask for a fee!

Jade, thank you for this video it is so helpful. I am a small up and coming influencer and just got an offer for my first deal. They want to send me free product to promote but has not mentioned a commission or getting paid to post. I am so grateful for my 1st deal, however in the back of my head there is that little voice that is telling me I should be getting paid...? If you have any ideas on how I can approach them to discuss this or can point me in the right direction of a video that talks about it i would so much appreciate it ☺

i have 30k followers on tiktok for my business and brands are starting to reach out and im thinking i dont have enough followers to ask for money yet smh so i told them just send free stuff 🤦♀ and they asking for like 2 tiktoks for the free stuff! thankfully one is a brand i use daily so i dont mind because i love them. the other brand hasn"t finalized the deal yet. when i told her i would do video for the stuff she emailed me back like in shock lol confirming i would do it without payment. after watching this video i need $500.

I love these figures, but they seem very unrealistic to me. I have almost 15K followers on Instagram (makeup/beauty influencer) and on average 250 likes per post, but the most I got paid by a brand was $20 for two posts + a Story. I wanted to charge them $30, but they only agreed to pay $20, and I had to accept, because there is no brand in line waiting to pay me 500-1000 pounds or even USD. And most brands even decline my $30-$35 rates per post even when that includes the right to use my image on their website. All that being said, I only managed to get these deals 2-3 times in total even though I contact brands all the time and some brands contact me themselves. Am I doing something really wrong?..

It's difficult for me to pin point the exact reason why your having trouble negotiating higher fees with brands without seeing your page or content. I know this video is kind of old but being in the beauty space for several years with over 100K, I will say that almost no major brands are willing to pay that figure per post. If you ask for it, they will say there is no budget for that and can't accommodate and move onto someone else who will do it cheaper.
Damn... I just found out I’m seriously underpaid! I’m over 40k on Instagram and get nowhere near that... neither any of the pages I talk to, some of them with over 150k followers. Nor quite sure if that’s a general thing or a specific niche. Good video though.
I should flag that these numbers are specific to influencer channels vs theme pages! I thought the same thing though, this is why these conversations are so important as so many of us are underpaid!!
