I suggest watching and listening to this only about 5 minutes at a time. It's so rich and there's so much to be taken in that it should be spread out over a good long while.
This is so wonderful. He just attacked one of my issues! (Don't "breath" then "blow".) What a revelation! Go for resonance. Such a great lesson. He just changed my whole concept of breathing.
Felicidades!! Gracias, felicidades!!!!
If you blow, you suck! I'll never forget it... What a different and interesting approach.. I am also experiencing the difference for good!! Thank you all!!!
He is so close. The instrument tone is the primary resistance. Yet players don't recognize this. And the "free blowing" nonsense is all you hear from players.
This video should not only be watched by trumpeters. It will be of tremendous benefit to any musician: singers, clarinetists, etc.

I just played a solo performance where I did the things he said to do and it was the best I’ve ever played. It was an amazing experience.
Here I am 5 years later. Thus is great. I'm that guy, doing it wrong. Thank you thank you for this. You have changed my concept completely. Thank you!

Gold. Much, much appreciation for posting.
This is wonderful! Thank you so much!
I just learned more in 10 minutes than in 10 years of trumpet study.
Nice work, Tom!
Lots of new things for me to think about and new ways to practice 👏👏Thank you so much👏🕺🎺🎺
I knew you were going to say Bill Chase!
I was wanting to hear "The Sweet Spot", when he talked about the 6 Iron :)
Great!
Truth spoken!

Facts
Do you have to buzz when playing the 🎺
Technically no you don't buzz. The trumpet provide compression.
James Morrison explains it in one of his tutorial series videos here on youtube
The man interviewing broke into a jersey/New York accent after all the laughs 😂
Sing with the lips. The lips are only a couple of inches away from the vocal cords. Lift the soft palate and use the bodies resonance.
Is that gravity’s rainbow
