1997. Overall, all 3 races... are still to this day, the "best" complete triple crown series since 1997. I can't think of a better one. Certainly not when you take into effect the rivalry of Touch Gold, Free House, Silver Charm and Captain Bodgit, with Free House and Silver Charm being the main characters. Wow. What a year for the TC series! Silver Charm was my first love of horse racing. He's what got me started. He doesn't have much time left with us on Earth. :( His memories he gave us will last forever. RIP Bob and Beverly Lewis. They let Silver Charm run into his 5 year old season. 21 times in the money out of 24 races. Enjoy your twilight years old boy.
Still the “ love of my life” horse 🤍 I loved Sunday Silence also, but SC just captured my heart the first time I saw him run and to this day I follow him. He’s special. I will cry like a baby when he’s gone. He will always be my favorite 🤍
This Horse Left His Heart and Guts on The Track....Tough as Nails!!....Been Retired and Living Like a King With His Biggest Fan in The World Taking Care of Him and Spoiling Him
With all due respect Kevin. Silver Charm was a steel charcoal gray colt at the start of his 2 yr. maiden race. He began roaning out as he aged .His foal registration states his color as gray. There's no such thing as a bad color on a good horse, a quote my father Dr. William E. Worthington DVM used to say.
Love Silver Charm. What an honor it was to meet him at Old Friends! Fed him carrots, had the coolest pic taken with him. He is so sweet! 🐎❤🥕
Silver Charm and Free House a rivalry for the ages.
This silvercharm was our family favorites ❤

Those battles with Free House were epic.
Fantastic memories. TY 🏇
I love silver charm xox
Love em forever and always. From Buena Park CA USA
Amazing, gritty Silver Charm.
Back when they still campaigned winners vs syndicated breeding rights. Silver Charm is a great one with a fantastic disposition…
My dad Saw Sivers charm
And my mom too
Santa Anita ain’t the same without Trevor on the mic 🎙️
Free House eventually became the better of the 2. But what a rivalry that was
The announcers calling Free House gray like Silver Charm isn't.🤦
So I met this incredible horse this week, can someone tell me why he is silver/gray now but seemed to be black back when he ran? Just asking.

A fair question! It is crazy how he’s changed color. Still beautiful and forever my favorite 🤍
