Aye Ecothrift is a goated spot😂 I thought I recognized those tags lmao
FANTASTICCCCC and inspiring!!! I'm so ready to start my boro/sashiko/patchwork/scrappy journey :)
Ok instead of scissors for the shredding try a box cutter! 😊Sharper, cheap, easy to use, and gets a nice shred for distressed fabric/denim.
I love how the shape of the pants changed after you added the patches, now they look more smooth/structured and the patches and stitches gave them life. 😊💕
I really like what you did here! The Sashiko stitching is a really nice touch. Thanks for sharing your talents!
They look great ! Very inspiring ! 😃👍🏼
I am loving all your videos! The only missing piece is interfacing 🙃 nothing wrong with your fabrics or your stitching! Without interfacing your fabric will scrunch up & won’t lay flat. Interfacing is used on almost all patchwork, embroidery, button holes, etc. All the pants you are recreating have interfacing between the fabrics also. Pellon 101 fusible interfacing is the most common one used. Hope this helps!
wow i love this pants
Hi Julius, TLDR: New tool recommendation to help speed things up?/Future video idea suggestion?/Big thanks from me, to you!
Howdy, I'm _so_ new to your channel, BUT I'm a few videos deep. Been sewing for over 40 years & I gots a suggestion to aid you with pulling out them threads when distressing denim: Grab yourself a pair of needle-nosed tweezers! Pull those pesky little vertical threads & with the tweezers, it'll get easier & faster, as you go. The tweezers can be the same kind you'd use pullin' out a splinter. (Try to get a separate pair. Cause, you know, sanitary reasons.)
Oh, have you started a "distressin' tool box" yet? I find the more you make, create, build new creations, you're gonna NEED all your tools at hand & ready to go when inspiration strikes! Maybe, make a video on starting one & what's in yours? I'd _love_ to see your... let's just call them what they are, tools of the trade. Plyers, hammer, tape measure, grommets, grommet tool, glue, tweezers, heavy duty threads & needles, sand paper, hem tape etc... Plus, the fancy box you keep em' all in.
Have yourself a _wonderful_ day. Thanks a TON for all of your help & inspirational ideas. TBH, I'm _so_ out of touch with the current trends in young mens fashion. But if you ever need help with _anything_ home decor _or_ if you need help dressing up dressing like a 45 year old woman, I got your back! Just ask.😁👍

Thats a good video idea ill probably make that soon and give you a shoutout haha. and i appreciate the recommendations as well! can never go wrong with applying more efficient techniques 🙏🏼
Excellent idea on the distressing toolbox. I can’t tell you how many times I’m grabbing random crap to distress with because I’ve scattered everything out all over my workroom.
@@fadedcharacter8481 IKR?! Imagine hanging out with a few friends you're _all_ messin' around doing your own jeans. You're located down stairs in the rec room of your house, that's the bottom floor, of a 4 level house. BUT y'all decide you _need_ to switch rooms... to get closer to the kitchen where the beer is. (Okay, & the bathroom too :) Switching rooms _with_ a tool kit means picking up EVERYTHING at once & just _moving_ it. BTW, I'm so sorry of this sounds a little _too_ detailed. It ah, um _may_ have actually been exactly what happened to get me. THIS is what got me to create mine. LoL!
No more of this running _all_ over the house to collect what you need, only to sit down & say CRAP I forgot ____. Have a great day (or night). 😁👍
@@Digitalhunny best reply ever!!!🤣🤣🤣

Really nice video, I've been exploring Boro and Sashiko for my clothing brand, one question I had though, why did you fold the edges of the panels? was this just a prefence cause I dont fold my edges, I like the raw edge and the fact they fray up, add to the look - at least I think so.
Really like
Boro is a practical solution with an aesthetic side effect. Taking a new garment and making boro patchwork is like taking a new car and replacing some of the body panels and doors with old ones.
love this project! but i was wondering why you hid the raw edge of the patches for the front, but not for the back (the raw edges were visible on the back). i like how both look but i noticed that there was that difference
✌🏽
New subscriber looks like yohji Yamamoto 🔥
one of my inspirations 🙏🏼
Fab fab fab
What kind of thread did you use for stitching, could you tell
Красиво! 😊🌋
The people who made boro originally only had indigo dye available to them. So maybe that’s what feels off to you
🔥🔥🔥 roughly how long did it take and how strenuous was it on your hands.
about 16 hours of hand sewing i think? i did stab my fingers a couple times too 😂
Супер.
Broo are you from the bay? I swear thats the Savers in Hayward, CA
aha
PLEASE GO BACK FOR THAT BABY TAPESTRY ARE YOU KIDDING ME 😭😭
you know i might have to lmao
So hard
You could have done this with ur sewing machine bro lol 😂 your poor hands but great job as always none the less .
i wouldve! but boro is all about hand sewing so i had to stay true to the definition 😅
