Actually in my opinion the Game Gear version has the better music. Don't get me wrong the Genesis version still kicks ass but the Game Gear version is better by just a little bit.
Lyrics (Verse 1): Labyrinth Is Here On Master System and Game Gear, Compared to The Genesis Version, It's Quite Tame, But That's Not Saying Much Because This Zone is Still Insane, Enemies are Still Everywhere, They're All Around, Whether They're Swimming Or Underground, And You Still Have to Keep From Drowning, But It's Not Quite as Short, So Quit Your Frowning,
I discovered the Master System version this year with my nephew playing on one of those bootleg consoles his father was given. This is Labyrinth zone ? (Nephew is 7 and has never played any game before, so he is stuck at the bridge zone for now) It's so catchy! The Megadrive one was my least favorite of the ost. This one steals the show !
At least this version of Labyrinth was nowhere near as hellish as the Mega Drive version. Quite possibly the first underwater levels I experienced in a game.
A lot of people are saying they think this is more fitting of Labyrinth than the Genesis version, but I actually think this has the vibe of a Casino zone, which... oh boy. I don't think the Master System would've handled well at all.
I am late and I dont even know if you use youtube anymore and you probably know this but , right click the video and click "Replay" and it goes on an infinite loop
The fact that the 8 bit sonic 1 and 2 songs get overshadowed to oblivion is criminal. These are great songs.
They're certainly lesser known than Yuzo's other works, for sure
Agreed
in my opinion the master system versions are better
The 8 bit Labrynth music is a lot better in my (not so) humble opinion. It's spookier.

I agree
Perhaps, but MD version is still heaps better
It’s cause Yuzo Koshiro did the soundtrack and he’s mad talented
I don’t think this sounds like a water level, sounds like a casino/urban level
@@TortoiseMaximus but this fits more considering the difficulty and danger of the zone
This makes the GG/MS versions of Labyrinth Zone feel so much more fun than the grueling painful experience of the Megadrive version
I honestly prefer this version of Labyrinth Zone over the Mega Drive version
Damn right.
Me too
This song has been going through my head for a long time and I didn't know what it was. Now I've finally found it!
this song is WAY better than the genesis version. i might do a remastered version of the soundtrack to unleash this soundtrack to its full potential!
MrSmash64 do it
I think both are great.
@Love made in Japan nah, not Sonic 2
I find this version rather generic. The MD version is a masterpiece with insanely catchy melody
Patralgan the Megadrive version gets repetitive and Boring very Easily
Sounds more fitting for the zone than the Genesis counterpart.
Much more dramatic and sinister.

The same as bridge zone that fits in tropical island level theme
This fits in better than the genesis version cuz of how this emphasizes how evil labyrinth is way better.

Labyrinth on the Genesis is great. But this… this is spectacular. Jazzy and funky. This song is so much better than it’s 16-bit counterpart.

People after playing the MD version playing this one:
Ah shit, here we go again.

A lot of people are saying they think this is more fitting of Labyrinth than the Genesis version, but I actually think this has the vibe of a Casino zone, which... oh boy. I don't think the Master System would've handled well at all.
More unforgiving than the mega drive version. You can’t lose your rings and catch them again, and boss zones always have zero rings. How it should be
I can imagine a jazz remix to this.
OH YAYYYYYYYY!
I bet that is where Boosters theme from Super Mario RPG got an inspiration.
Minecraft players when listening to this song: Why does this sounds like Pigstep?
One of the only good water levels in a sonic game (Mainly because drowning is very easy to deal with and this game is way slower paced)
Eu ando pensando que a OST do Master System é melhor que a do Mega Drive (por pouco, mas é).
A música da Scrap Brain Zone é uma das coisas mais linda desse jogo e não é à toa que é o minha fase favorita do Sonic
