I can get the pulley and the friction wheel assembly on and off without lifting the engine off the mount. Does the water pump itself need that extra room to go in or might it fit from underneath with the friction wheel out of the way?
@@zevisgarage thanks! I'm sorry if you answered it in the video.... I admit I didn't watch any of the engine lift but was curious about the possibility of doing it without.
@@zevisgarageI definitely had to find the right trick / right shallow tools when working in that area. I used a simple box wrench on the bolts while holding the other two bolts with the wedged screwdriver. This let me loosen all the bolts before taking it off. The tensioner was annoying, but not as much work as the engine mounts. I don't trust holding the engine with just a jack. If I'm going to lift the engine, it's with a engine bay spanning hoist bar and the jack is backup.
@@underourrock did you see the part where I lift the engine? I don’t lift from the pan like most people do, I used to with wood but after damaging one pan I jack from the engine/trans meeting point
if you want good quality you can take german or us manufactor: SKF, INA, Gates, Dayco, Delphi, Bosch, Febi, MEyle, Continental, Magneti, Valeo etc... if you take thermostat (on other engine side) in china also aviable from full aluminium frame
What your take on valve train noise from the two mechanical pumps👀
I think it wasn’t the water pump if it was your second or third pulley, it must have been the friction wheel causing the issue
@@noumanchoudry3147 everything else had been replaced. Replacing the pump itself fixed the issue

@@underourrock I’ve done both jobs all different ways including not lifting the engine as mentioned. It’s just tight so I prefer to make more room

@@underourrock definitely possible, just not favorable. Someone told me to try it that way once and I wasn’t impressed
