My daughter and I heard a cougar calling at night near our house about a week ago and then walked into the woods. Its call sounded like a woman screaming. Our dog woke up and started barking so she heard it too. Never have heard that in 15 years of living here, near Prior Lake!
i see lots of cougars around town, especially on senior discount day at the grocery stores
The cougar is probably headed to Las Vegas to watch the Vikings game this weekend.
We saw cougars in my neighborhood in Beverly Hills all the time, especially when their husbands were at work.
I thought cougars were only spotted at Hy-Vee.
I live in the mountains, among mountain lions, yet I have never seen one. They are extremely elusive critters.
I was hiking in a park in Gilroy (CA), mountain lion country. I was huffing and puffing coming up a trail. Got to the top of the trail, saw a mountain lion dive into the bushes. Beautiful looking animal, could have cleaned my clock if it was so inclined.

Thank goodness the dnr was able to confirm that. We never would have known if it wasn't for them.

A cougar grabbed my cousins dog in California the other day. A Jack Russell and my cousin heard it, ran out and found them, she saved her dog but he had a big gaping hole in his neck. They drove an hour away to get a vet. Took 4 hours of surgery to save him. He’s got tubes coming out his neck. They are hoping he makes it. So keep your dogs, cats safe.
A cougar grabbed me once I was lucky to escape before she tried to buy me a round of drinks and take me back to her place. It was a very close call.

Seen one in person about 10 minutes south of Flint, MI. It was about 2 years ago. I was beyond lucky it didn’t pursue me. It was dark out and I turned and ran back to the house.

Running was risky. Cats are attracted to motion. You're lucky you weren't killed. The best move is to back slowly away, not turning your back, and NEVER running.

Once, about ten years ago a client & I watched a big cat walking along the edge of the woods where i was working. We both thought it might be a couger, but weren't sure. After seeing this video I'm sure!
We saw two cougars in Woodbury on February 2nd at 7:15 pm, crossing Wimbledon Dr. at Dartford Rd while giving a behind the wheel driving lesson!

I had a cougar jump out at me along the desplaines river in lemont il. Years later i saw one again a block away from my first encounter. They travel everywere via railroad tracks.

Cougars roam from coast to coast and from northern Canada down to South America. It’s not rare, it’s just not on camera all the time.
I lived in Malibu in the mountains and a big cougar, a mountain lion was crouched near my house about 10 feet from me. I rushed back inside and it turned out it was jumping on a rabbit. I was afraid it was jumping me. This was a huge cougar like a lion or tiger in a zoo. I've since bought and always carry a concealed, loaded 357 handgun. A gun shop owner told me I could kill a cougar with it.
I've seen a lot of cougars in the bars of Minneapolis.

Cougars are protected. Even though Minnesota is a loony cess pool state where you can’t protect yourself, others, or your things. You’d be safer and better off getting a human than a cougar in Minnesota. 😂
@@Carl_McMelvin Laws don’t stop people from doing stuff, they’ll still go for it. Murder is against the law, but we still get high body counts. Some animals are protected but they still get hunted and killed…not all people are bad though we’ve got lots of looney ones out there.
@@zelilee5312 I don’t disagree. But for anyone that knows about them, they should know killing one of them is a big problem for them if they’re found out. Unfortunately dumb people still kill wolves too (which is dumb to do even if it was allowed), but taking a mountain lion is much more severe than taking a wolf. You’re not even legally allowed to take a mountain lion if it’s eating your pet. Which is ridiculous and I certainly would end it given the opportunity in that situation. But better not report it if you ever find yourself in that situation. 🤣

Just because you don't see them doesn't mean they are super rare. Used to live in the north side of the city heard them mating any times. Sounds like child being murdered, pretty hard to mistake.

Had one harassing my horses in western mn a few years back. It had been seen for many years at the time. It disappeared shortly after I spotted it. Pretty sure a farmer or rancher shot it because it started messing with livestock.

There is indeed a very rare cougar. There are apparently lots of cougars in Minneapolis, but that is the first one I have seen that is a quadraped Most of them are bipedal- with fake hair boobs lots of make up 80s clothes, looking for a young man to drag back to their apartment lair😂
