I don't have the least bit of sympathy for anybody making EVs, selling EVs, or trying to force people to buy EVs. As far as I'm concerned, they are all criminals.
And this is why nobody takes anti-EV nuts seriously. Criminals, eh?
Lol, get real
?
@@Tom-pt3jfEV owners are evangelical to the point of being deranged. They have to try and justify what is turning out to be a terrible buying decision - worse for the environment, more expensive, horrific depreciation, short life span ,limited range and more expensive to charge than petrol if using public chargers .

Can I also do it??? My life is facing lots of challenges lately
It's odd how when politicians invest taxpayer money it's always a failure but when they invest their own money....$$$$$.
Profits are privatized and losses are socialized.
It's called "friends of rent seekers and "front running".
It is odd how they call it "investing" and not just "spending". Investing sounds wise.
They are addicted to OPIUM , Other Peoples Infinitely Unlimited Money.
It’s called insider trading
The EV dominoes are starting to fall. They won't be the only ones.
Lol, they were a start up company
Fisker was never relevant. The guy has multiple car start up bankruptcies. This dies not hurt the EV industry at all. Did people scream ICE was failing when all those poorly cobbled together British carmakers folded?
read in swedish news today that we will get 12% higher cost of electricity.... so I guess we were losers in this aswell.
@@dizzydella1 Not very efficient use of manpower if they have double Toyota's workforce but produce fewer vehicles.
My exact words.😊 Thumperjdm.
"global supply chain issues" You mean there is not enough raw material to make the batteries needed for all these new EVs
Nah. As someone that’s worked in cars and business overall for 40+ years. It’s a typical CEO or Board ‘looking for an external excuse rather than shine a light on our own decisions’. No CEO wants to be seen to not be able to see their strategy was wrong. And they don’t want the public to know that. Sadly many believe them.
Tesla and BYD are not struggling for raw materials and they are smashing the sales numbers out the park.

Biggest problem is, how much more money will the governments throw at the problem before they realize it's a lost cause.
What would they care, it's not their money, same with most decisions made by govt.
Limitless amounts of
What do you mean “realize it’s a lost cause”? They have always known that this whole EV / climate fiasco was a no win for us, the people. It’s just been a way for them to spend our tax dollars on stupid stuff and put a “green” label on it. They want us, the plebs, under their thumbs and poor as all hell.
Vietnam, Snowy 2, Iraq, Afghanistan....
They have always known, however when it is not their money they are wasting why would that bother them, in their eyes it is wealth redistribution, that only ever goes one way, from the poor to the rich, always!! And we also pay the interest on the money that they borrow in our name
The market is the best mechanism for picking winners and losers. It gets it right every time.
Just like the Titanic, the OCEAN has claimed another victim, Fisker.
😢😢
Just a poorly run company. Not really a surprise.
Truth be told, they lasted longer than I expected.
This is the third time they went bankrupt. Don't worry though they'll resurface again later.
Hey, they're Chinese. I know how they operate...badly. Firsthand personal knowledge.
That and the fact that he was backing a losing proposition in battery evs. I don’t think they deserve capitalization, btw. He is usually undercapitalized and has a good but not great product.
If they were called the "Fister" they probably would have been more popular with your average EV buyer.
No, they only have room for Daddy Elon.
🎶Another one bites the dust🎶
Fisker certainly haven’t been the ‘Queen’ of the crop!!
As byd overtakes Toyota, get real dude
@@dizzydella1 Considering Toyota aren't putting all their eggs in one basket like BYD, so of course BYD have overtaken them. Toyota will just watch them crash and burn as the EV market tanks.
@@dizzydella1Toyota operates in a real world. bYD is a dictatorship supported company living on government largesse. Toyota has to actually earn a living. BYD can keep discounting to buy market share and an authoritarian government will continue to support it. Big difference little boy.
@@dizzydella1 that has NOTHING to do with Fisker and all the other EV upstarts that are falling by the wayside.
I don't want EVs to go away, I just don't want to be forced to get one.
I want them to stop being financed with my tax dollars. I do want Battery cars to go away.
I don't want to subsidize them - or the charging points, or the safety requirements needed in case on catches fire! I don't want my car insurance to subsidise the EV short life expectancy or likelihood of creating mayhem when it catches fire...
@@Hoojammyflip Aye, this too.
They've been coming and going so many times throughout history. Don't worry if they go away, they have a habit of resurging only to fail again and again.
@@onsokumaru4663 The difference is that this time it's being pushed by an ideology. I don't think this happened during the pre war era, or during the 70s.
Standard business practice for Fisker.
Keep the EVs on the RC miniracing track... 🙂
As the guy above said all good except when they fly of the track and get stuck under the sofa
I don't even have anything against EVs. The problem is that they are being pushed on us due to politics and ideology. This never ends well.

I’m an inventor. I’ve always told people that I’ve tried to help with inventions to never waste their time on an elegant solution to a non-problem. I thought that was the biggest mistake you could ever make because you waste so much time, effort and money on a stupid idea. I realize now I was totally wrong. The biggest mistake you can make is developing a really crappy solution to a non-problem that’s even dumber.
It depends what you are trying to achieve.
If you really are trying to engineer a new product, then you are right.
However if your main goal is to grab the government hand outs then you go for making shiny stuff that looks cool (and ignore the proper engineering underpinnings).
@@cccmmm1234 You’re absolutely right. My comment has to do ,as I’m sure you know, with not wasting your time on solutions that only generate yawns and no sales.New products need to attract a following and if the government is behind your product, regardless of its stupidity,I’d definitely give a green light.

Fisker has been in trouble since the get go. This should be no surprise to anyone who knows anything about the company's history, and not really anything to be high-fiving about.
Sad news for the employees but they must have seen this coming.
How many more will go the same way before the goverments wake up to reality.
As a polite reminder, EVs are selling in record numbers globally. Literally smashing sales records constantly. What ‘reality’ are you referring to?
I agree with remedy dude
@@Audioremedy0785 Clearly you live in a different world to the rest of us.
Sales of EV's are not at record numbers or the likes of Fisker would not be going out of business.
There are stockpiles of unsold ones that will never turn another wheel.
Hertz rentals are selling all their EV fleet and can be bought for very low prices.

I'm fed up of comments from people ridiculing EVs. They don't know what they're talking about. Personally, I drive two top of the range EVs, a Jaguar and a Porsche Their acceleration and handling is fantastic. They look brilliant and they're really cheap to run. They need hardly any maintenance and haven't depreciated since I bought them. I swallowed the sinker but not the hook
Amazingly on some EV channels people were still talking about buying Fisker’s a few weeks ago as they were such good value. Fully knowing that Fisker would likely go bust.
The usual fanboys with their blinkers firmly attached.
Those are the sort of people that would go back in a Time Machine excited they had tickets on the Hindenburg.
Thanks. Great news to wake up to.
The mental gymnastics they go through instead of saying they made a product no one wanted.
You have nailed it. In my working days, part of my skill set was writing this sort of word salad to avoid companies having to give honest answers. But the team at Fisker have taken it to the realm of high art: "we have faced various market and macroeconomic headwinds that have impacted our ability to operate efficiently". It is exactly what you say: they made a product few people wanted ("various market headwinds") and what product they did sell cost them more to make ("various macroeconomic factors") than they could sell them for ("unable to operate efficiently"). It is crazy that we live in a world where this sort of double-speak is normal.
Great! Rivian and Lucid next.
CEO OK. Shareholders NIL. Employees - no job.
Coincidentally an advert for POLESTAR has just screened on The Masked Singer (US) for an SUV with 0% finance from a company in serious financial difficulties. The finance on offer was underwritten by Volvo, a major Shareholder.
I wonder how long any Warranty will be available?
My Polestar advert offered up to $10,000 off. I’m sure the people that bought one a month ago would be happy they over paid.
@@xr6lad :If all these EV companies can shave tens of thousands of dollars off their products at a stroke it begs the question as to what business model they were working to in the first place upon such a flawed product that shows 120+ years of failure. Massive profits it strikes me. I have never seen such company ineptitude worldwide in my 70+ years on this currently insane planet.
stay away from polestar. theyre next on chapter 11. if the car is sold in the us that is.
I was under the impression that Volvo had unloaded Polestar as sales were low, non profitable & also stopped supplying cash for further development.
(Open to correction, things may have changed at Volvo Polestar)
Hilarious vindication!!! Excellent. Crap ideas need to fail.
So anyone with a fisker car wont be able to get parts in the event of an accident and any warranty will no longer be available 😂
Even worse when the software bricks the car.
I live in Montana have relatives in California, call them last week got “your call cannot go through at this time“ turned out a major blackout in the San Francisco Bay Area that lasted overnight, pity all the people with electric cars that were expecting them to be fully charged Wednesday morning - and they’re not even in the hot summer months yet when brownout and blackouts are more extensive

WONDERFUL News
It says something when a company like Nissan bails out of the deal to save Fisker. With the highly questionable products that company already produces Fisker's lineup would've fitted perfectly in its dubious inventory selection.
The first of many more to come!
will your car be repairable without a manufacturer?
Not just repairs. Who's going to keep the software operating?
How repairable are EVs WITH a manufacturer? Just asking, so many of them seem to get written off after even a fairly minor shunt.
@@maifantasia3650 Honestly, it's probably easier writing new software for a car from a defunct brand than it is to use anapproved parts on a Tesla.
Yes. Just need an arc welder and a donor drivetrain from a jeep.

Isn't this Fisker's second time going bankrupt, He also filed for bankruptcy back in 2013.
Didn't Fisker buy Saab when they went bankrupt?
That was Spyker, and the sale never went through.
But… with those photovoltaic cells on the car roofs their cars have been SO BRILLIANT that Doug De Muro seemed almost to need to change his trousers after a video about the Fisker Ocean!

I Love Fisker so much, the Cars are amazing,Sadly they are still quite expensiv Here in Switzerland
Fun Fact: Fisker do not own any assets! They got the cars made at Magna-Steyer in Austria, so Fisker do not own a manufactor line. All Fisker has is the drawing of an EV-car that has been trashed in reviews!

I thought fiskers made scissors.
You mean FISKARS 😂
Well. His prototype when he started this version of Fisker had scissor doors as well as a 700-mile range that charged in minutes. All that changed when someone whispered the word, "SPAC" (Special Purpose Acquisition Corp).
Fisker files for bankruptcy? i suspected that may happen
There must be a template for these Ch11 press releases. Those damn "macroeconomic headwinds" get them every single time. 😂
Hopefully tesla is next!!
Ah well, what a shame, nevermind!
Very Good!
We determined that no one wanted our cars.
The thing is, it’s a massive growing industry. New companies all want a piece of the pie. But it’s not really news that a company I have never heard of is going bankrupt. It has nothing to do with tax payer money. It’s to do with companies making a product that can’t compete.
The same model in ICE version shall be a success !!!
I have to agree.
If Fisker had restarted with IC engines I seem to think they could have been a bit more successful.
Building something that customers actually want makes a difference.
@@danielsteyn7464 True, but producing a modern competitive IC engine isn't like wiring up some batteries to an electric motor- it's a lot more technologically challenging. And you have to do it without all the subsidies/carbon credits etc.

@@dizzydella1 / I’m in farm country, so… rare. You must be in a metro area with repair services. Will they stay afloat?
@@conservativemike3768 Polestar (like Volvo) are owned by Geely, which is a massive Chinese company. One prong of China's "beat the West" manufacturing strategy. They'll be around for a while...
@@RodneyW China is ready to cut losses also. How long can NIO survive with their stock selling for $4 USD per share?
@@robertkubrick3738 I hope you're right. They seem to be very determined, and the response from much of the West has been ... weak!
In the United States, the EV tax credit is not enough to jump start EV sales because buyers know that if they purchase an EV, the tax credit won't cover the depreciation and repair costs of the EV. EVs are disposable cars.
I really have no issue if anyone wants to buy an EV to virtue signal his "green" they are, there will always be niche markets for expensive toys... My issue is with governments trying to mandate the stupidity and wasting my tax dollars on subsidizing the companies and the customers.
That's the problem with all the incentives- they don't apply to the used market. So whatever you gain in subsidies, you lose when you sell the car.. This just didn't show up for a couple of years because the lockdown supply issues were artificially propping up used prices also..
A friend of mine worked at Fisker and was laid off last month.
That’s when he learned the company’s flexible paid time-off (PTO) is basically no real PTO.
He got just 1 week of pay and no PTO payments.
Yep, flexible leave is an accounting trick. How much leave you should get is not booked and thus no liability in financial reports and nothing booked for employee at separation.
Thank you for the update.
deja-vu
Sad in many ways. Second time Henrik has failed. I was behind a Fisker Ocean yesterday, and they do look innovative. It had an opening rear screen which harks back to old American Station wagons. I don’t much love EVs, but I am sad to hear this one failed
Priceless!
Don't feel to bad for the C-Suite. They'll get an awesome compensation package while the workers get nothing. I don't think Rivian will be far behind.
Makes you wonder why workers don't join the C-suite then?
ahhh, the joys of central planning !!!
If they made a product at the right price that people want, that company would do well.
How many federal tax dollar incentives did Fisker receive and then give their CEO's huge bonuses that are taxed differently than their regular paycheck they receive unless they are filed as an 801. (C)3 so they can avoid land and school tax. Here in our County in upstate NY 60% of the land in the county is tax exempt and the rest of the landowners have to pay the cheaters way after they deceive the public.
The companies, news, and govt's all are intentionally leaving out the real reasons: no one wants modern EV's with their dangers, high costs, expensive insurance, environmental impact, and high depreciation.
Stevie Wonder saw this coming months and months ago

Fisker himself is a designer but a bad businessman. Bought his wife in as CFO who had no automotive or engineering experience at all.
They both interfered in engineering and component decisions and have left key suppliers and customers to swing in the breeze
It's a total shitshow
Fisker's real issue was its leadership. Kept making the same mistakes from their last go at EV building. With supply chain issues and inflation, it was a tougher go this time.

Fisker struggled to sell ICE cars too and went bust. Shame, he designs great looking vehicles but ts the software this time that let the vehicles down.
