Remember buying this on 12” and dancing around to it in my bedroom with my best friend, my mum banging on the kitchen ceiling below with her broom yelling at me to turn it down 🤣🤣 About 43 years ago, remember it clear as day 🤣🤣 Still sounds brilliant.
In the mid 70's i had the pleasure of being backstage in Phoenix Az with my best friends Roger Troutman and the Zapp band & Charlie Wilson and the Gap band . You talk about sharing praises for two of the baddest funk bands in history. Talk about a blessing. They both epitomize what stage presence and showmanship are, treating their fans as family. You gotta love these guys. R.I.P. to my brother Roger. I miss you. Funk for life !!
Thanks for a great story!!, I grew up listening to the gap band And Roger troutman and zapp, great memories, just saw the sinbad concert with them back in the day, they had the crowd going crazy, best wishes, happy new year, Jake
As good as Charlie Wilson has been over the years, nothing touches when he and his brothers were together and I never missed a concert when they came to Atlanta most of the time leaving the Omni crowd in awe, they were younger, stronger, and most times high but, they never disappointed,I’m glad that he’s still here doing it because we’ve lost so many over the years, the concerts are not as good as they were back in the day,go Charlie💯💯💯
Brings back great memories !🔥 I first saw them in London in a place called The Venue (in Victoria) in 1983. I submitted some photos that I took as an new amateur photographer to then England,s best black music paper (Echoes), I made front cover and that launched my professional photo and now video career which continues today! Thank you guys, it has been a great journey!👏🏾👍🏾🙏🏾 🏴🇸🇪🇹🇹
Here's an interesting off stage story from Snoop himself: After having a discussion with Charlie Wilson, Snoop called one of his buddies and said, "Uncle Charlie said we need to stop smoking weed." And they did! (At least for a time).

As much as I DO love disco funk and soul as much as I DO DISLIKE (c)rap (s)hit hop
So much better than rap !!
He needs to do some NEW FUNK in his own music. Everything new he releases HAS BEEN SLOW.
Uncle Charlie still has it!!!!
