Thank you for the flawless dictation, ma’am. I’m from India and have been learning Pitman stenography for 1.5 years. I can write at speeds of 90 to 100 words per minute. However, I struggle with capturing new words that appear in dictations, although I can transcribe familiar words efficiently. As I prepare for the government job exam (SSC stenographer), which often includes dictations of parliamentary speeches, I'm eager to improve my ability to transcribe unfamiliar words. Could you please provide tips on how to tackle this challenge? Additionally, when I encounter difficult words and skip them, I find myself getting distracted and unable to focus on the rest of the passage, resulting in a disrupted flow. Any advice on maintaining focus and concentration would be greatly appreciated. If you could create a video addressing these issues, it would be immensely helpful. Thank you!"

The problem you describe is encountered by everyone. It is easy to give advice, but putting that advice into practice is difficult. For myself, if I cannot readily think of a word, I write part of that word, even if it is only the first letter, and once I identify the new word, I drill it over and over again, saying it out loud to myself as I do so. Keep a list of such words and visit that list regularly. Pitman is far more difficult than Teeline, and I congratulate you on your achievement so far. I am so pleased the dictations are helping you.
