I grew up in south Texas my grandpa was a shepherd I remember he had an old John Deere tractor and he used it as if it was a car we used to all jump on and went to the store church exetera, I used to go with my grandpa every morning when I was on school vacations he give me a Winchester 22 caliber rifle to shoot coyotes if they come close to the sheep ( they never did) it was a beautiful time I never knew my father but my grandpa was my mentor from him I learned to love our beautiful nation and respect our authority ( as long as they are respectful to us ) we were not rich but thank God we always have food and a roof over our heads.

I am impressed you found an illustration of the Walter A. Woods machine. That farmer was well-dressed with a vest. 😃The big Ford farm truck at 1:26 seemed like a good deal for $800.

The 59 Edsel is beautiful. Odd that the driver’s side wheels are off. Crosley is cool, an older feller in Aurora CO we see at local shows has an early 50s Crosley pickup truck. Great video, interesting inventory with the Star and the Model A

just found your channel, great stuff.. On this video @ 14:49 minute mark, the snowmobile is a 1970 Ariens 300. A little history, Ariens was known for its snow blowers in the 1970'sand like many major corporations snowmobile manufacturing would be experimented with. Ariens started making snowmobiles in 1969 . The 300 came with a Kohler motor, deep padded seats, ABS tilt-up hood and wrap-around bumpers, front and rear. Ariens manufactured these in Brillion, Wisconsin. By 1973, Ariens was out of the snowmobile business. (citation from 'Vintage Snowmobiles, The Golden years 1968-1982')

Good video I like when you show the items and then the price it sold for at auction much. Much better than watching the full auction. The 100 Honda Motorcycle was a steal at 500 dollars I've seen them go for $3,000 here in California!

Lots of neat old tractors. 54 Buick special; hey a 2dr! Of course the Crosely is a find! Even the model A. The Star is a find as well! The Edsul looks good. I would have snapped that up! I 100% agree with your take, Tim, on automotive innovation not really any great leaps since about 30 years ago. I don’t need the connectivity or touch screens. (My latest project is the first one with either of these options!)

Ok contraption on back of JD unstyled A is a manure loader. Used to load from the barn yard manure pile into a spreader pulled by a 2nd tractor. I've seen pictures of one other in a tractor magazine. Very rare piece as they weren't really a time saver. Two young boys could pitchfork a spreader full faster.AL B.

I thought the Ford trucks were quite reasonable for the condition. The N series (partial cab over) are a bear to work on but look neat. The MM machine just past the AC pull type combine (All Crop) is a baler. A neighbor here has one very similar except it is now pto powered. The one problem with them was that the wire tie models would drop a small piece of wire from each twister when it tied the bale. Little pieces of wire are not good for cows and other animals if they happen to ingest them... Really nice sale. I wonder what that really old grain reaper brought?

  • @kencarney6667
    @kencarney6667 Рік тому +1

Tou could get the Edsel going easily as they used Ford parts under all that
    restyled sheet metal. That's
the one I'd take. The Buick
    looks unique compared to
What you see today. The Star is the best find of the
    day. My Grandma told me
    that when they were younger,
they owned a Month on and a Star. She couldn't tell me what the body styles of these cars were, so I'm gonna guess they were sedans as they had 4 kids
    by then. We lost Grandfather
to scarlet fever in '33, but
Grandma lived to be 90 and
    passed away in 1991. She
told me the stories on both
cars and a whole lot more
    before she passed. Think
my Uncle had a lot of that
old farm gear on his farm
when I was small. He even
used some of it into the early
    '70s when he quit farming
    after an accident took his
right hand. He died not long
    after that. I still remember
all that stuff in the barn too.

I agree about disc brakes, OD trans. FI being the last important innovations but I would add it's amazing how much power the automakers get out of these 6 & 4 cyl engines..Like in the camaro, mustangs & MOPARS etc. & the LS1 motors actually get good mileage compared to earlier design HO V8's.. oh well

I bought a crosley off a car lot in garden Grove ca,in 1959 for about 100. I think ,,,and drive it home,,it was a 1948 two door sedan ,,dark blue as I remember. I was part of a group of local hot rodders, and wanted to make a race car out of it. and I did ,I put in a Ford drive train with a full race flathead with 3 Ford 97 carbs. and ran at local drag strips. when I went in the army my friends took parts off my car ,,to the point that I said sell it and give the money to my mom..the worst part of this story !!!!!,,the car had a V8 60 eng and Ford drive train and I took it out to put in the big eng,,,that car I now know was one of only 8 that were made by crosley. ive Ben crying 😭 ever since
