Used to catch Ronnie all the time at Manny's NYC. It was incredible. It was more than this guy playing the blues. It was a religious experience. Used to love it when he'd just run insane licks over and over while walking down the main aisle in the place and wound up out on the street still playing those licks while the band was back inside the venue. Great musician and showman
I think you may have seen my timestamp in the comments to this moment in the original video! If so, I'm glad this registered with anyone else because sometimes you think you're crazy when people, even within the blues community, don't mention Ronnie, because he was simply the best in the world for years. Still my favorite living guitar player. He has so many records you could listen to them all, start all over again and again and never remember every mind blowing performance there are so many.
@@oldgrannywheels I got into Ronnie over the last decade. A spellbinding blues guitarist if there ever was one ! Fortunate to have seen him many times. Godspeed Mr Earl!
I couldn't agree more . A huge fan since the early days of Roomful to the Broadcasters. A stunning player. Such feel. Tends to get overlooked, which is a crying shame.
Why does he have to be a genius for borrowing other players style? I guess this is why Elivs has the larger real estate in the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame when Chuck Barry and Little Richard have a 4 ft three shelves and nothing else mentioned about them bringing Rock and Roll to the world.
@@michaelellison9547 lots of folk love SRV. And I saw it first hand. They think he's like them till they make a black joke and he used to break them down. He stopped shows because of drunken bikers using the n word. Yup he was not zz top. HE was anti-racist
Ronnie was an absolute monster in the 80's and 90's....best on the planet!!!
Back then, Ronnie was second to none. So was hits band, The Broadcasters.
