Who cares that this can crusher is over-built, too expensive or overly complex for what it does. Man does not build things because it is easy or because it is hard. For no other reason, he builds things because he can. Retirement: A period of time when you have nothing to do and all day to get 'er done.
Reply I highly doubt that machine can deliver enough force to crush a full can. A full can can support something like 200+ pounds, no way in hell does that machine generate over 200 pounds of pressure!
@@Renwoxing13 those little hit-miss engines can do a lot. The way that appears to be geared it would have no problem crushing a full can. The weak link is the wood bar, on purpose I assume, like on a sickle mower. That looks like 1/2” plate at the end. I bet that can press a couple thousand pounds.
I'm a big fan of PLC's and automation, but I'm an even bigger fan of old school linkage systems and hit-n-miss motors!! Well done man. As a millwright I can really appreciate this!
Awesome!!! I don't know what's more amazing, the ingenuity of this machine or the stupidity of comments about the amount of time/effort/money was involved!
Its not how much money is wasted on things like that...money spent on things like rhat is from recycled beer cans...and alot of beard stroking pondering i bet...awesome job...!!!
NEETO!! I only have one negative comment and one unbelievable observation. You failed to show the ?Hit and Miss? (Power unit) and your comment section was lacking the OSHA Gestapo, Thank You for posting this.
I am proud of you. Greta would not. More energy being spent for so little in return. On the other hand Greta mite approve her logic is guided by appearance. And it appears you are recycling cans for the good of the earth The truth to me appears you like making cool looking stuff. But again that, just my opinion formed by the facts president to me. Hay I just got a idea for a news channel. I’ll call it just facts. Umm. The JF news. Ok I got to go. P.S killer JOB !
So just a guess here but : these mechanical can crushers come from country/states with no bottle deposit, and cans only sell for aluminam scrap value!? Anyone who has a machine like that is obviously a hardcore aluminum scrap/bulk collector!
I wish someone on the south side of Indianapolis Indiana has all kind of scrap metal material or new scrap material metal to help me redesign a can crusher device that I like but I want it redesign but with thicker in a heavy metal material I live on Indianapolis Indiana on the south side if anybody's on the south side knows how I put one together let me know so I can give you an idea how I want this one to be put together and then I need a skid table to mount it on so once it's all send then I can probably put it on UA-cam channel so people can see my candy crushing device but for right now I'm praying for a miracle that someone that lives here in Indianapolis Indiana on the south side has all kind of experience with different types of metal and Welding and maybe teach me how to rebuild my Canon Crusher that will call it the Kevin's Crusher that's the nickname of the candy crusher can't tell you what the name is because if I do that then I'll give it away then everybody be want to redesign it to make it better I just wanted to redesign for me and me only so everybody is out there that is reading this I'm not hard to find 4202 Southeast Street on Hannah Pine Glen that's all I'm saying for now have a blessed holidays
Somebody has far more time, money, and materials than anyone I know... I'm pretty sure that you can get a can crusher for $15 that only takes up twice the space as the can you'd like to crush. Manually operated, but compared to the amount of work required to build this Rube Goldberg crusher???
Question what is actually the Motive Power behind this machine since it's so quiet I take it electric? Unfortunately really couldn't see much from when the camera was pan that direction would have been nice to get a better view of the other end of things as well but nice design and just cool to have the classic flat belt drive. If they had a way they were crushing tin cans back in the day it would probably have been something like this
wow this has to be the most over engineered can crusher yet. too much going on for a simple concept. if this cost you alot to make, you will never recoup that cost in recycling. ever. so basically pointless
when your beer drinking has reached industrial levels...
Wes Gore I made one that crushes 6 cans at once 👍😎
Well there Diet Dr Pepper cans, so it’s not that great. I don’t trust anyone who won’t have a beer!
You should drink water from the facet, it’s simple, economical and healthier.
Not beer tho.
@@Brichards1126 Hello there, 'well there'. Don't care? There there.
This video is sodapressing
The internet awards you 100 points.
Groan! LOL!
Pretty clever!
This is the best comment I’ve ever seen
Lol, I was gonna post when your soda goes flat !!!
I think this is fantastic in it's simplicity. Please do more like this.

People just don't understand Man
@Dan Burch very well put my dude
Do hobbies, instead of spending time doing nothing can help us more healthy,
Correct. This could’ve been built with a wiper motor and $15 worth of parts from ace.
No we do it things not because they are easy **but** because they are hard
Very good build. Very professional looking.👍
Awesome, I want one! I don't crush cans but I still want one.
Do it again this time with full cans !!

@@Renwoxing13 WOW EDUCATION
@@Renwoxing13 are you sure about that?
I suspect that thing has ungawdly torque.

I can beerly hold my enthusiasim for this...jus sayin
More art than can crusher! Beautiful machine! Well built.
Prettiest can crusher I'll ever see.. EVER 😆😆👍👍
Old Skool is the best Skool.
That's pretty awesome I gotta admit! Would've loved to have that back in my drinking days!
Great job of building!!!! See the most of the comments don't even merit a response
It works very well indeed but a little over kill on the drive set up. LOL
True
Popcorn Shiner
never enough over kill lol
Tidy job...the lifter plate in the feed chute is a smart idea..well done.
When you build a complex Redstone mechanism in minecraft, just to open some doors.
I do believe that someone has finally found the Killer App for Steam Power.
AT LEAST IT DOESN'T TAKE UP MUCH SPACE IN YOUR GARAGE. I applaud your engineering though, and it crushes nicely. :)
Oh wow. I didn’t realize can crushers came this compact. Very convenient.
This is one of the coolest machines I seen. Keep up the great work. I loved it.
Very clever, with thought given by evidence of grease cups for all the wear points

A little bit overkill, but really cool. Sure wish I'd had that when I was a kid.
That's sick
Fantastic amount of work involved in making this. overengineered?

Rube Goldberg lives! "COOL"
It'll never pay for itself, but it's awesome. Lol
lmdetect , it's a work of art! Nice job!
It'll pay for itself from the savings of Aspercreme and Ben-Gay for the inventor's muscles!
Hobbies seldom pay for themselves. It is the challenge.
You should make a 10hr loop video of this. Cool rig.
Show de bola essa maquina eu vejo tanta latinha nas ruas. Like
I could sit there and feed cans to that thin all day
Did you have Forrest Gump over to drink all those free Dr. Pepper?
have you ever, just for the hell of it, yelled "release the Kraken" just before you lift the retaining lever?
Damn things 50' long, wtf. My hand to my forehead is only 2'6".
I need this for beer cans in my apartment.
Thought I was going to see a hit-miss for second. Threshing machine for cans,if they had aluminum cans in the early 1900's.
That is the coolest can crusher yet
If you drink that much beer and need a machine like that to crush your cans I think you need to check into AA
I'd be the one to make a hopper that automatically lined up the cans to be crushed, using the same engine.
I'm just that lazy, LOL!
do you have any idea how much beer you could have bought with the money spent on this!?
I thought the same thing. I like it though.
it's the other way around, you drink beer in order to feed the cans to this contraption!
Maybe he gets a lot of cans from his neigbours.
You drink beer, crush cans, get money from cans, buy beer and start over again
If you bought beer with the money how would you crush the cans?
Why did he build this? The answer is obvious...because he can! Am I simple minded if I think it’s cool?
Yes! I could watch that crush cans for hours.
Creative mind fella. I'm sure a few recycling depots would love this.
Ok thats the best I've seen, but awfully large and pto of of what?
Very creative
I just love seeing builds like this. Its so mesmerizing!
Since we have a cardboard bailer, place cans in plastic bag and within a thick cardboard box and let magic do its job.
Oh yeah, that thing is great.....👍🏻🇺🇸
BOA NOITE TOP EM PARABÉNS 🎉
Seems like alot of trouble and money when Yu can just step on them lmao
I've done stomping way and this is better.
Really great looking !!! I wish I had your talent.
Nice paint job .. I like the feed device .. Very clever !

it works on the small cans but does it do the bigger one????

Most satisfying machine ever
it is going to take a lot of drinking to keep that machine productive.....never mind TO THE OFF LICENCE!
That's pretty slick, I like it. Thinking about making a smaller more compact version?
Way to much creation for a can crusher. Bicycle invention was more realistic and far much cheaper and didn't take up the whole garage.
Um cubo redutor eliminava todas essas polias e a máquina ficaria com menos de um metro. Essa ficou parecendo uma locomotiva, só faltou ser a vapor!!!
Pull a full can on the end then re-shoot the video. BOOM!
This just goes to show you anything done with patience and a little craftsmanship can be art lol
love the fact of using a popping John for power.
why is it so damn relaxing to watch cans being crushed by machines
By God I like it.
Love the old school mechanicals. It’s a dieing art that should come back into every day work life.
"hey I've got two cans to throw in recycling"....cool give me ten minutes to start up this machine.
Perfect but to much and big belts and pulleys just for can crusher, but like I said Perfect and genius
The sound is mesmerizing I like it. Relaxing to watch great machine
They sell that hand operated one at Harbor freight for 5 dollars. In hindsight, this one seems just a "little" over engineered.
When it absolutely, positively needs to be crushed
My foot is cheaper and I'm pretty sure faster. I bet the millions are pouring in with this.
Очень крохотная машинка)))
Dude! Best one I have seen yet, I need to make one and run it on my hit n miss engine... Damn this is right up my alley

Good engineering
This is sexual harasment
Those who drink beer by the gallons will need a can crusher
What about the motor? I didn't get to see it all that well. Steam powered???
Someone has a little too much time on their hands.
Whats the polish rod made out of?
Put your fist in there!
Umm no that’s a... it’s a.. you know what nevermind.
if this thing were any bigger it would be a Rube Goldberg machine.
Is there like a more compact version of this I like what you did but I don't think my furnished basement or filled garage will fit this
You got a forehead for a reason
Or you can step on them and save money and the build of a useless machine

The amount of work put into building and maintaining this machine could've crushed any amount of cans by hand.
