What I fear is that in the future, every new unit becomes a "must pull". And it is already happening. For example Jiu, 6 and TF are "must pull" units, but atleast their updates are apart far enough, so you can save up for them. But now each update there is now one or two "must pull" units. Getian is often praised to be a really great unit and Isolde is T0. But now I need a Plant DPS, since as of now I only have Bkorn and AAL. So I want Markus. But this would mean as a f2p I would have to pull for 2 6 Stars in 1.7. And there is also a chance that thats the same with 1.8.
To be fair no units in reverse 1999 are "must-pull" UNLESS you value obtaining SSS in raids which does not even give game-changing rewards so it's not really something that you should aim for. The rest of the gamemodes can be cleared by just using well-built units and a little bit of strategizing. TF, 6, and Jiu are great units to have and they can make your gameplay at ease but you can still progress without them. On top of that, the game is generous in giving pulls and as a F2P Day 1 player, I have no problem obtaining units. I can even pull each of the new 6 star characters per patch despite losing the 50/50.
As a f2p it is quite overwhelming because of our limited summoning resources. However the "must pull units" is the meta and if you like the meta then go for it. But as long as I beat the UTTU I'm happy. Just an opinion from a Charlie main.
chasing the meta as f2p is pointless. sure, tf/6/jiu will make your life much easier, you should pull them if you can, but there is no need to get any character just bc they are strong and t0 or whatever. the worst thing that can happen is only getting A~S rank in a raid or not being able to clear the last limbo stage, its not a big deal. also, aside from jiu, you can still get any character you missed a few patches later -- you're gonna be fine even if you struggle with endgame for a few months. i say this as someone that skipped jessica, melania and kaalaa, currently "t0" dps in global. it's gonna be worth it later when i get the characters i actually want.

Before, I found Jessica cute (and because her ult makes her look like a serial killer, which I really liked because I love slasher movies) and wanted to give a few pulls on her banner, but people kept saying, "Oh, poison team is meta in the future," "Jessica power creeps Druvis III" and "Jessica is a MUST pull, " which really strayed me away from her. Nowadays, I find it annoying whenever I encounter enemies with poison. The same with 37. TBH, I agree with 6 about his opinions of 37. Overall, If I can clear limbo, go to Chapters 29-30 on UTTU, and reach a minimum of S-rank on raids, then it's okay. Chasing for meta will just make the game boring and probably make me quit playing, so I only pull 1 character per patch or maybe even skip a patch.

No. Aim for a copy every banner if possible and consider dupes on reruns. You'll have a much enjoyable time. Needless to say, the game can be cleared with lower rarity, so a copy of 6* is enough unless you're a 🐋

I think the power creep happens because TF and not that i hate her it just everything need TF... So for those that not have her every thing looks hard even if we got 6 because 6 is buffer and debuffer so he can't be compared to healers... Another unit that not bad are dikke she some what works as genesis damage+heal... And match it with medicine pocket and the healer duo is quite strong... Shamine can be a bridge to to connect them with reality carry like melania or centurion... But of course it still abit grain of salt in it essential we do need TF if we against mineral so that is so bad about beasts and there overly populated healers... Not to mention if you got no other healer the 4 star unit gonna be needed for sometime rather than no healer at all....
Imagine tantrum about necrologis but can't accept Ms. new Babbel higher tier than Necro. Tbf Ms new babbel at uttu become good unit at uttu at the right card.
