In my opinion, needing to have a certain build for some missions in AC is something I really like about it, figuring it out and planning, and then having your AC fail miserably and forcing you to go back to the drawing board. On the other hand ac6 making that part not as necessary and just letting you dodge everything like its dark souls and then punch the shit out of everything is really fucking good

A'ight I gotta say it. This AC pilot just reinforced the entire primary concept of Core Theory, the literal reason Armored Cores exist in lore. I don't think I need to elaborate on that, everyone else in the comments seems to be a fan much like myself. I'm just in sheer awe is all.
@@britishneko3906 I don't think the game ever spells out explicitly what core theory is, but it seems to be a design philosophy/combat doctrine that underpins most ACs, based around using speed, agility, and aggression to bring fights into short ranges and overwhelm any opponent who doesn't also commit to core theory. It's often contrasted with and said to have largely replaced forms of mechanized warfare more similar to what we know in the real world, where main weapons can destroy enemies in one good hit and combat tends to revolve around detecting and obliterating enemies at extreme ranges. So here we have Nepenthes, a massive artillery system designed to engage and obliterate enemies at extreme ranges, but a single AC is able to use its speed and agility to just dance through the lasers and bring the fight into close range, where Nepenthes is defenseless.

A'ight I gotta say it. This AC pilot just reinforced the entire primary concept of Core Theory, the literal reason Armored Cores exist in lore. I don't think I need to elaborate on that, everyone else in the comments seems to be a fan much like myself. I'm just in sheer awe is all.

@@britishneko3906 I don't think the game ever spells out explicitly what core theory is, but it seems to be a design philosophy/combat doctrine that underpins most ACs, based around using speed, agility, and aggression to bring fights into short ranges and overwhelm any opponent who doesn't also commit to core theory. It's often contrasted with and said to have largely replaced forms of mechanized warfare more similar to what we know in the real world, where main weapons can destroy enemies in one good hit and combat tends to revolve around detecting and obliterating enemies at extreme ranges.
So here we have Nepenthes, a massive artillery system designed to engage and obliterate enemies at extreme ranges, but a single AC is able to use its speed and agility to just dance through the lasers and bring the fight into close range, where Nepenthes is defenseless.
