yknow, the thing that makes us special is our ability to “savescum” and restart from a checkpoint. It’s not Iguazu’s fault that everytime he actually does beat raven his timeline collapses and he ceases to exist.
That's dark as fuck if you apply that same logic to every opponent in most games. They are _all_ fully capable of killing the protagonist, it's just that there's literally no universe that exists where they win because that universe lacks what makes it exist in the first place: The player. The observer. Without us looking in on the story, it cannot be told.

@-kg-2999 iguazu kept attacking 621 tho, wouldn't that make him majima, or would he just be so much of a bitch that he has to ambush majima with an assassin?
It kinda makes sense. Allmind is just a mimic, it steals AC and combat data rather than learn to fight itself. It knew the freelancer was going to have to die as part of its endgame, so why not choose the one pilot who would agree to *anything* including and beyond damnation, just to kill the one person you want dead anyway?
One thing I really do like about Iguazu being the final boss is that he’s the antithesis to our character. Our story is that we gain agency, the ability to make decisions, and we grow through the decisions we make - the sacrifices we endure. Iguazu does none of that. He’s never in charge of his own fate - constantly under the thumb of Michigan, unable to beat Raven, unable even to pay someone to do it for him, or to move past his petty frustrations. He’s a slave to someone every step of the way, right up until his being what Allmind sees as the best option to take us on. The perfect, predictable vector for its plans. If we, Raven, become a symbol of freedom, Iguazu is the opposite. A symbol of being enslaved. And so it’s quite fitting and satisfying that when we beat him for a final time, he’s still enslaved. He throws off every shackle, even the control of allmind. As the AI says, ‘nobody can stop him now’. But he still can’t overcome his hatred for Raven. He dies admitting the last and greatest shackle that he could never overcome - his envy for the Raven that he could never clip the wings of.
I don’t agree with the part about Michigan. You can’t help but to like the guy. Which made his mission so agonizingly. Especially when his team starts to shit talk him after he left and he shuts that shit down. I still think Iguazu is a clown but I have small kernel of respect for G5 because of Michigan. There must be something likable about Iguazu if G1 is willing to defend someone so hard. Which includes you as well.
@@ivans3483 I think that’s to an extent fair, but it’s noted multiple times that Iguazu resents Michigan pretty relentlessly. Michigan’s own cool factor doesn’t really redeem Iguazu imo.

@-kg-2999 iguazu kept attacking 621 tho, wouldn't that make him majima, or would he just be so much of a bitch that he has to ambush majima with an assassin?
Cut to my baffled response when ending 3 came around and I was like "Him you chose him!"

@@jds0798 its on the test
Hold on, putting this in my study guide.
Grudges and resentment? You ARE Iguana at that point.
His name is iguabu
This. This right here is what I like.
@@astratan2238 Iguazu doesn’t like Michigan but I think he still respects him. Michigan is just everything that Iguazu hates. A person that talks down to him and has authority over him.
@@astratan2238 it’s never been said that he hates him as far I can remember. Iguazu just doesn’t like taking shit but begrudgingly accepts it from Michigan because he also walks the talk he gives out. He acknowledges the pecking order that he wants to sit at top of.
Something must be right by him to pass the Michigan vibe test cause I know Snail didn’t pass it.
Iguazu’s like a player who keeps returning to a boss they’re stuck on
So nice of FromSoft to give us our very own obsessed hater.

Iguazu's so petty he literally assimilates into an AI super intelligence, takes it over, and still fails
Fromsoft narrative staff were laughing their asses off when they decided he should be the final boss

Iguazu and Rusty are awesome long-term characters. Honestly love the scripts and VA, can’t wait for a sequel

Michigan has a better understanding. It really depends on how you degrade someone.
The final boss is literally some random guy mad at the main character and probably sh1tposts online.
Nice.
Remember that the only thing that is more potent than Iguazus salt is 621's sheer swagger.
Frankly, Iguazu lasted longer than Walter in a fight.
The last time you see Iguazu in game was a very large surprise for me. I honestly didn't expect to see him where he was doing what he was doing. But honestly, I wouldn't want anyone else there.

@@Dkoarn He’s a well written character with troupes that I enjoy, an interesting story, and is just fun to see on the screen. He can be seen just as a spiteful anime bully, but I think thats really underselling a very well written character. It would be like saying that Guts from Beserk is just an angry want to kill anime guy. I don’t think Iguazu is as good of a character as Gut’s but it would be similar to that.
@@Dkoarn I like to think him putting you down is just in an attempt to make him feel better about his own ineptitude. Also, during which mission does this assassin come after you? I keep on hearing people talk about this but I haven’t seen it yet.

"There's a balam service medal of honor for whoever bags gun 13. They're nice too, they go real far when you throw them :)."
The twist at the end with iguazu elevating his levels of absolute hater as each ng progresses was a fucking experience that, by the end of the game, shot him up to being y favorite character. Dude was such a top tier hater that he OVERWHELMED THE OVERPOWERED AI WITH HIS FUCKING DATA ALONE. Being a hater of 621 was such a massive part of everything about him that it TAKES CONTROL OF THE AI LIKE GOD DAMN WHAT A FUCKIN HATER I LOVE HIM
Truly one of the best characters. Someone who wanted to cast the die but ended up getting gen 4 augmentation. A coward hiding behind a shield and shooting at you with rifles, someone who abandoned the redguns, ambushed you (or sent Coldcall), Iguazu if not fought at the data breach mission descends himself just to fight you because he still doesn't know how strong you are as a pilot. Only at his end he finally had growth as a character, grabbing the reigns himself, making it into a one on one fight, confessing that he was always jealous of you, the literal double lobotomite with an AI girlfriend.
this guy is literally just like "spot" from across the spiderverse.
Nobody takes him seriously, and hes the true final boss.
Fighting Iguazu is like kicking an aggressive puppy whose been wronged it’s whole life. You’re just reinforcing their prejudice.
Seeing Iguazu as the final boss felt like getting the opportunity to do a slam dunk right as the clock hits zero.
Ngl, for jumping you with the 4 minions in the end, Iguazu deserves every second.
Iguazu's gamer rage accumulated during NG and NG+ was enough to overthrow the supercomputer in NG++. He's not just a jackass, but a *very* determinate jackass.
I feels its now a tradition in the mech series to have a character so salty to the point he would chase you to the ends of the earth and gain all powerful mech just to be killed by the protagonist with a new mech too
my opinion of all the Redgun's that have spoken dialogue
G1 Michigan: fun uncle
G2 Nile: I don't even remember a single line from this guy
G3 Wu Huahai: delusions of grandeur about becoming a somebody in Arqubeus just for killing me, you're getting a pile bunker in your ass
G4 Volta: meh, kinda an asshole in the dam complex mission, but your log in the next mission we get off you're corpse is kinda sad.
g5 iguazu: the fact i didn't capitalise the g or his name should tell you everything you need to know.
G6 Red: little man, he must be protected.

I'm gonna be honest. I think the only difference between us and G5 Iguazu...
Is that we get to reload every time we fail.
He gets the one attempt. Loses. And has to live with the consequences.
Of course he's salty asf.
Uploading his consciousness to an AI gestalt hive mind just so he can be a hater for just a little longer - I love this guy
