Incredibly useful demo! Thank you! I’m all for sound demos on UA-cam despite everyone knowing that they pale in comparison to actually being there, you can still clearly hear that the 703’s would do beautifully for music, yet the R11’s kill it for Home Cinema with those dynamic swings. Hopefully next time you visit you could also demo the Martin Logan’s (XT F100) against the Kefs for example - since I saw them as one of the three setups there? Great format man… keep it up!
Thank you so much! I was hoping to demo the XT-F100’s but this store is still waiting on the new line from ML. Hopefully next time! Thanks for the nice comment!
I compared at Best Buy the KEF R11 Meta vs the Martin Logan XT-F100, driven by a McIntosh power amp, for music, and the KEF almost matched the F100's for impact and dynamics, which is no small feat. Plus, you get the advantages of the coaxial driver setup.
Nice. Thanks for the feedback. The MLs are on my list to audition as well. Assuming you auditioned them at a Magnolia Design Center because McIntosh is not available at regular Best Buy’s.
@@magnoliamo Yes, Design Center, which they don't call it any more. And, yes, they were able to drive them with the McIntosh hybrid power amp. I think it produces 200 wpc.
I’m a 2 channel man, home theatre not my forte. I recently upgraded my speakers. Among many others I auditioned the R11s and the B&W. I now proudly own the R11s. ATC SCM40 would have been my 2nd choice.
Bud, when you're doing sound demo, please sit, or stand in exact same position, and do not move around! You can then move around after the demo is done. Thanks!
@@AudiS4orce1 Thanks for the great feedback. Very true and agree. At the time I wasn’t sure how UA-cam would react to the video of the Dolby Atmos Demo. I was afraid of getting a copyright flag on the video which would have been sad. That’s why I didn’t want to center the video to the display. I apologize for that. I will take the risk the next time.
@@magnoliamo No worries, I hate stupid copyright stuff on UA-cam, makes sense now. Although, unless you have dedicated multi-channel microphone setup, it's next to impossible to capture home theatre sound on a phone. Good to know about Kef, I might be in the market for one, and now between B&W, Focal and Kef!
@@magnoliamo What do you think about Kef R7, not as large as R11, but same drivers, just 2 less bass drivers. Did they have it there to compare to R11?
The Best Buy I went to had the R5 and R11. I haven’t auditioned the R7 but it is very close to the R11 from a frequency response perspective. I do believe that the 4 vs 2 6.5 inch hybrid aluminum cones is the reason for the excellent dynamics on the R11. For smaller rooms R7 would be good while for medium and large rooms R11 is the only way to go.

Kef R11 will wipe the floor any day with the bowers and wilkins
@@willworld3007 It certainly made the 703 S3 sound inferior.
@magnoliamo I have heard them with my own ears in person the 703 can't touch those for sure
I believe you and agree. R11 sounded more dynamic and well balanced.

Loved the reaction of the Best Buy employees when you walked in 😂

I cant believe the r11 is still that expensive. Wild...
I believe it’s worth the price
Fortunately Kef runs sales and places like Crutchfield sell B-stock
