This was my favourite game of 2016. We're just about to set up the expansion. Thanks for the very clear, very comprehensive overview. This should save us a lot of poring over instructions.
It already feels like the game moves very quickly. Does the expansion slow down the end of the game? I'm worries that there just aren't enough actions that each player takes per game to make branchlets a better choice than the current options.
Hard to say before I play with the expansion but this seems like a great addition to the game. It'd be wildly unhistoric but I think a steampunk addition to the game could be fun as well.

Izathel1 It is a different way of making points. You could be very well win the game without building any of the branchlets.
