Gaynor, Such a lovely surprise to have another video show up to enjoy with my morning coffee! I love how you share your outings integrated with your process. Your focus and experimentation with the snake plant work are providing inspiration now, yet will stand the test of time. Wishing you some nice weather. Be well!
Really glad that you like the 'mix' .... I worry that there is not enough of this or that !!! I go with my instincts and cross my fingers, so that you very much for a lovely encouraging comment. 🥰
I love your paintings your exuberance is refreshing . You are a beautiful person inside and out. I saw one of your videos where you spoke of people sending negative messages. Don’t let yourself be bothered by people who don’t appreciate beauty and sincerity. Your paintings always make me feel so happy and your attitude makes me want to get busy and make art. I am a novice but I’m learning and I’m passionate about what I create. I think it is all so wonderful. I’m constantly amazed and think did I do that. Wow!
Rewatching this video and your trip to Bexhill on Sea reminded me of a local saying back in the day when international visitors came to sub tropical Durban. You always knew the British visitors by their brollies and a cardi over their arm. 😊
So interesting to see your process and how you resolved your gorgeous snake plant painting. You are very generous to share all this. I will keep watching, love your videos!
So fan of your Videos full of inspiration . Sharing the way you go and progress through your projects is very helpfull . I understand I must take so much more time choosing among various options between each step of the project …especially when I have many doubts. Thank you so much !
I absolutely love your taking a subject-snake plant-and exploring all the myriad ways to use that image/subject for inspiration in art work. Picasso was great at that in his last years-bird, fish in ceramics and paintings. Bravo you have inspired me to give it a go!
So grateful for your videos! I have been in a creative slump since January and your videos has given me insight into new ways to create and paint. Thank you💗
I love your outings. I have a fascination with geography and maps, so I always look up the locations you take us to, and I'm learning quite a bit about English geography while being inspired by your paintings too! 🙂
I look forward to your video every week. I love your snake canvas, thank you so much. You give me energy to create, go create with the messes sometimes. Have a lovely day.
Oh, Gaynor, I can't seem to stop watching your videos. You seem like an art friend that I want to hop on a plane from Seattle and visit (I'm not a stalker....well, maybe!). Thanks for sharing! You inspire me to keep on!
Really enjoying your videos - great resolution of your painting. This points out to me that I quit far too soon, for fear of messing up. Using cut-outs is a good method. Thank you, again. p.s. Here in the Canadian Rockies, I share your angst over the cold. Take pleasure from not suffering a 5th month of snow and ice.
Crumbs Ann, how do you do it ?!! Are there thermal layers thick enough ? I spent many years in fear of messing up and now I rejoice in it - it doesn't come naturally but it is so worthwhile 😍
LP and JB loved this video. Lots of smiles 😃 Love the abstract snakey board from the start of the video. Look forward to seeing its next steps. And really loved the final snake board. 💌💚
Hi Gaynor! Just LOVE your videos - so inspiring and quirky and full of fun! Question for you: When you go back to a painting that needs more work, is there a checklist in your head of things to try? In other words, do you think about contrast, or variety, or color … or is it all just intuitive? Thanks for all your videos - they are so helpful!
Hello Rebecca, great question...it varies, sometimes after a good long while, I walk in and know what to do to improve a painting, other times, I know something is missing and experiment. I do try to give things time to brew 😂Thank you for a lovely comment and have a great week 🥰
Good morning Gaynor...this repetition, pushing on with your snake plant art is inspiring ...loving this last finished piece...will you go larger? Look forward to the gelli printing next week..have to admit, my gelli print equipment hasn't seen the light of day for a very long time...but, it is a fun thing to do...have a good week...cold and sunny few days forecast here in SW Wales ...
Hello Linda, We made our first trip to Wales last year, spending a few days in Porth Cawl, and I loved it! Friends have told us to go to Pembrokeshire this year. I now have a very meaningful relationship with my only two houseplants !!!! Have a lovely week 🥰
I’m relatively new to your channel and love your approach. The Mother-in-law’s Tongue plant is a great subject! What are the square boards you use please? Keep warm 😊 Jill R. PS you should get wood burner for your cabin(s) Transformed our cold house this winter x
Hello and welcome. I use mostly Seawhite Canvas Boards, they come in all sizes. The idea of a lovely wood burner is on the back burner at the moment !!!!! Thank you for your kind comments.🥰
I live in Bexhill. My husband runs very early in the mornings and has photos of wonderful sky’s over the sea. I suppose I should try and paint them but the sea is not my best subject.
I love the shapes on the leaves remind me of feathers love the black and white one. Oooh if you go ahead with the gelli printing there is a huge audience out there for it so make sure you mention it I think you would get a lot of views I’m obsessed with it good luck xx
Another lovely video. I especially like the sketchbook/card experiments, as well as the use of paper shapes to try out ideas. Good plan. Thank you Gaynor. 💐
Thank you Gaynor for another great video. Loved your little monoprints from your sketchbook and am so looking forward to seeing what you do with the geliplate next week.
Another injection of joy and inspiration. Love the design and subtle colours in your snake plant painting but my eye is now being drawn to the two black pots at the bottom. Maybe this too much black??? but no doubt the lighter grey frame will balance this out. I'm sure you will work your magic on it.
Hello Anita, I love receiving your thoughts ..... I am at that stage where I might need to put the painting out of sight for a little while in order to see it afresh ! 🥰
Yes!! Like the snake + baby snake composition
I'm so glad you put in the second plant as it coverd up the lecherous chicken. 😊
