I swear this whole album at the right time and with the right marketing would have topped the charts here in Australia. And at the cooler end of this 109°F summers day with a few cold beers it just screams out BBQ rock vibes of times gone past.
It really is a groove, The first bit reminded me of White Zombie and then some of the vocal riffs along with the guitar reminded me of some older Queen amongst others. Floor singing always does it for me. Certainly like you said sexy and gritty at the same time.

Great analysis as usual Eric. Just when I thought I’ve heard everything that Floor can do, she brings out this raunchy bluesy voice! There’s always a surprise somewhere with Floor. Great guitar too.
A studio only project, both Floor and guitarist Jorn Viggo Lofstad (Pagan's Mind) are just too busy with their respective bands and other projects, to do any touring for this. Took them over a decade just to get time to record the album. You have done one other song from them, "While Love Died", but that was about 14 months ago. Halestorm would make sense, Floor is a big Lzzy Hale fan.
For me the best song of this album, because of Jørn Viggo's guitar work and the lyrics like "I need" from the same album ( that are a bit more "provocative") And hey: nice t-shirt in Tuomas style!

AMERICA is missing OUT by not putting ALL this music out from all these bands introduced through Nightwish and Floor Jansen!!!!!! If Evanescence could chart, why not Northward????? This album is GREAT!!!!
I had to come back to your reaction as I finally remembered where my brain went on my first listen to the track when I bought the album. Alannah Myles It has the same raunchy rock as Alannah's album, but with the added sophistication that Floor and Jørn can bring.
When you started talking abt the attraction to this rock vibe and referenced the OBWAT's ladies, my mind veered off into space to a Firefly scene where capt. Malcolm Reynolds knows he's walking into his death saying "Oh.. I'm going to a special h3ll" 😂 Agree that it's a crime that rock ch!ck Floor hasn't been dominating the airwaves for decades. OTOH, that leaves plenty of stuff for musical treasure hunts like yours. Great stuff indeed. Cheers! 🤘
You did "While Love Died" from the same album a while back and I remember you getting annoyed that the track had never crossed your desk. IIRC, I suggested "Big Boy" back then as I knew it would tick the boxes for you. The entire album would've been a massive hit on U.S. rock radio if anyone had bothered to listen back in 2018.
BTW, can you take your camera off of "interlaced" video as seeing your hands in "egg slicer" mode is distracting. If this unfamiliar to you, take your camera off of 1080i and put it on 1080p. It also could be an issue with your editing software if you create a new project and it defaults to 1080i. That happened to me while back when after an update, my editing software suddenly decided all by itself that all my new projects should be in 1080i. Very annoying.
Yeah, I was fiddling around with stuff after listening to a tutorial video and my settings got all screwed up! I've adjusted everything back to the prior settings and all seems well. I'm starting to use OBS during live streams and I was misled as to the settings. I don't need to stream 1080 and I never do, aside from the last batch of reactions. And I realized it when I was loading them into my editing software and it was taking forever due to the resolution and size. All is back to normal and according to the chat from today, the stream looks and sounds better. Thanks! Cheers, Eric
