    I don't think I've ever seen anyone take an injury, especially of this magnitude, as well as Hafthor. He was super calm and collected about it.

    Man, you can fight trough this. I know this is hard for you, all the pressure and especially having the feeling that all this powerlifting stuff might be over, it’s not. As long as you keep pushing it will never be over. And even when you decide to retire. I’ll still be here❤

    This was painful to watch, and made me a little less upset to be so weak on bench. Been using front delts instead of pecs and just now finally got a trainer to fix all my wrong forms after 10 years of wondering why I couldn't improve on some lifts. Stay healthy and recover well brother!

    Tore my chest last year, not fun. Was told surgery couldn't fix my muscle tear. Glad to see yours was able to be fixed.

    Same thing happened to me when I was trying to escape an armbar from one of my black belt jiu jitsu coaches. Tore the muscle off the tendon not the tendon off the bone. Unfixable. But I adjusted the way I use it and made it work for me!! Warriors never quit!!

      Thanks for sharing. I think back when I was in my 20's and can't believe how lucky I was. I had no business lifting heavy with no technical knowledge of lifting. Super lucky.

      @RealSB same here! I am 45 now and I don't know how I can even stand up straight all of the punishment I out my body through for 20 years of mma training and heavy weight lifting! Now I stick to medium weight high reps. It works for me!

    I'm surprised that you are still recovering. Check if you need some extra magnesium and vitamin C to rebuild the tendons or muscle fibers. Very important is the quality of magnesium such as treonate. All the best from 💪Spain

    You know, if you had lifted in metric pounds instead of kilos or imperial pounds, the amount of weight would have came out to a nicer 505 metric lb, abd still retained the benefits of being utilizable in the metric system sinde the metric pound is eaual to 500g.

    Same thing happened to me about 5 years ago. It took awhile to recover. But now I'm able to bench close to what I was before the tear...

      @DarkoFitCoach it happened 5 or 6 years ago, so I can't recall exactly. It was probably about 2 years to get back to normal, and that's without any medical attention. But I couldn't focus on recovery because of a really stressful job, so...and I'm sure my tear was nowhere near as bad as hafthor's.

    That was foolish thing u did, I herniated 2 lower back vertebrates 8 years ago during squats and now am living with that 😢. If I do get surgery I fear that I will end up like Ronnie. 😐 please don't try this ever again.

    I hate to be "Mr. Form" but it is the elbows flaring out for me... I think elbows tucked in is the way to do it. Every pec tear I've seen from benching the unfortunate fella has their elbows flared out instead of tucked in.

    Damn. I literally told him a week before the competition to take a week off. Tendons require 6 recovery days in a row every so often. I guess he didn't see my comment
