I know you aren't going to take ALL the credit, Mark.. Merri helped immensely on this lol.. This was seriously awesome!! The ingenuity, which comes out of your garage/workshop is beyond my comprehension!!!
Kiss Kiss yeah, I cleaned the house, cooked for him, reminded him to eat and shower, washed his stinky laundry, which enabled him to be out there alone this time. 🤣 I also told him I pretty much hated ever idea we ever saw for mounting these...until he came up with this. 🤯 He blows my mind. 😉
Thank you! I Just made these today, took less then and hour to make all four. I even polished them on the buffer to make them shine like chrome they look amazing.
Very Nice! I used some 4" 1/2' bolts and wing nuts on a flat stock steel and rigged up a saddle for the factory rack.. Yours is much cleaner! I can't wait to get a aftermarket rack!
amazing video I have ours mounted to the Prinsu with just long carriage bolts but the nut on the end got seized up on one of ours one time so I like this idea so much better
You should be selling these pins. I have never seen anything like it and I've been researching my van almost 5 years now because I wanted to be a builder of vans.
We have the holes for the clips putting a little tension on the boards so they don't move at all. I suppose a person could put a spring on each pin below the boards to provide tension too. Maybe we'll try that next time.
I'm completely lost as to how this could apply to a stock roof rack. (FJ) The channel feature on your aftermarket setup is the huge difference maker. Thank you
Why not using a piece of threaded rod? This way you can save the drilling and tapping of a thread. The idea is great to mount the boards is great and cheaper than the stuff you can buy from e.g Maxtrax.
I’ve never, in my life, wanted to be neighbors with someone, more than I do with you two! Another GREAT video!
Thanks 👍
I get endless ideas from your videos

Have the same maxxsa boards. Saved my half ton a few times. I even lent it to some guy with a giant dump truck to bail him out.

Sounds great!
are you willing to sell any? unfortunately i don’t have the tools to make it
Great video, thanks for sharing your design.
One minor nit-pack: You should always clamp your work when using a drill press!

Thanks Jeremy, and thanks for watching!
A great idea, and so simple that anyone can make and fit.
Thanks Tim!
Genius stuff there Mark!! $5 instead of hundreds. Thanks.
This is awesome! Exactly what I needed for my 4runner. Keep up the great videos!
Great to hear!
Great idea guys! Love it. Thanks for sharing!
It's our pleasure my friend!
Nice work, as usual!
Thank you! Cheers!
Love it! Thanks for the how to. I’m headed to the big hardware store to get materials for mine!
That's great craftsmanship! Well done 👏
Thank you very much!
Appreciate the video man, I’m going to do something similar for my OEM FJC rack. 🤙
Glad I could help
Genius. I live in a tiny house, if anyone ends up making a set of these and is willing to make 4 extra I'd love to grab a set.
This is brilliant. Well done sir.
Thank you!!!

You should make and sell these! I would buy a set today lol
Hello guys, I love watching all you videos..I was wondering if u sell these as well???
No I'm sorry, we don't sell them.
Can I buy a set? Lol Awesome 👏🏻
Super helpful, thank you.👍👍👍
Glad it was helpful!
Great stuff guys !
Thanks Jeff!
Great idea! Do they vibrate or move when you drive down the road at highway speeds?

Nice design.
Thanks Mike!
Great idea. I’m definitely going to make a couple
This is a great design I love it!
Thank you! Cheers!
Very cool. Thank you.

The aluminum rod mounted vertically on a flat bar on a U bracket?
Won't you be ny neighbor? LOL!
Nice video as usual.
Are the pins for sale? Willing to buy as well…
Sorry, no.
ARE YOU ABLE TO PURCHASE THE ROD ALREADY WITH THE INSIDE THREADED?
Maybe, but I've never seen it that way.
I want to mount my traction boards on top of the rifle case. You have any idea on what I can use?
You can use the same method here. Just use bolts instead of the studs.
Do you need a drill press or would my cordless get the job done?
Cordless will work too.
Very nice!!
Thanks!
Maybe put the lanyard under the fender washer then it will be held in place and not come off......

Because that roof bar accepts 1/4” bolts. He wanted to go 1/2” to fill the mounting holes in the board to eliminate any slop.
Great meeting and talking to you today! I subscribed and I’ll be sure to check out your vids. Are you guys on Instagram?
It was nice meeting you too! We're on Insta under wanderlost_overland
Now I need to buy the $k tools to make the four $30 pins, lol.
I will send you 50 bucks for 4 of them 5" long😂.
Those boards must shake rattle and roll
Not at all!
Just found your channel good stuff, nice 4R. Like other comments I would also be super stoked to buy mounting pins like the ones you made!!
