I was internationally adopted from Korea as a baby. My parent definitely were amazing at trying to keep me in touch with my heritage with books and movies documentaries and got me a hanbok, both as a child and adult. However, one area I have struggled is actually learning and understanding language and would love to teach my daughter since she is half Korean. Thank you for sharing and hope you’ll do more relaxing ASMR videos like this. It’s soothing and interesting. Thanks again!
Honestly, this is amazing. You said you were no good as a teacher, but just proved otherwise. I can't believe it made so much sense to someone who doesn't know any Korean. Please continue teaching us!
It really is! I'm currently teaching Italian (my native tongue) in Japanese and it's so hard 😵 Thank you Soy for your hard work! I hope this will become a regular series 😻
The way you explained that the position of the vowels from horizontal and vertical is a really great tip for beginners to figure out how to write in Korean. I only casually try to learn Korean. Back then, I had a really hard time to write the proper placements of the letters, I only learned it through looking at Korean words for a year. And I have never encountered other youtubers use that as a tip.
i am hopeless at languages but hangul is such an amazing alphabet; it’s easy to learn and very legible. if we ever as a species manage to produce a universal language, i think it’s the best option for the written word
Always had the urge to learn the korean alphabet., so thank you for making it as an asmr video. Though sleeping halfway because of your lovely relaxing voice will defeat my intended purpose. As always, thank you for giving us interesting and artistic videos 💛💛💛

I'm not so sure though...couldn't she actually be writing the regular way and then simply flip the screen over the vertical axis so it becomes legible to the viewer? I am not watching the whole thing, so i might be completely wrong, but it's something to consider 🙂
@@veomasheen9300 Or she could be writing on a mirror, brilliant! I'm glad to see there are still people who are not merely capable of paying attention to details, they even suggest credible alternative explanations! Thanks! You've just made my day! 😊 Cheers, T.S.D

@@seasunshine7550 i just memorized it by writing the alphabet in a notebook and tried to read words i see in hangul! like brands or signs! then it just starts to stick haha

I've dabbled in learning Korean and I can read it for the most part, but that study hack of putting a vowel next to a consonant to help memorize the pronunciation is a great tip! I never thought of that and will definitely try it to keep my mind fresh.
It may just be because it’s the only other non-latin alphabet language I’ve learned, but Han Gul and the Russian Alphabet have a few similarities it seems! Particularly in the way that something is “added” to make a consonant hard (in Han Gul, the letter again, in Russian, the additional letter ы, and having separate vowels for the sound by itself and the sound+ the “y” sound. Its also a pretty interesting coincidence that г and ㄱ are so similar looking!
I'm just starting to learn Korean and this was the most simplified and well described lesson I've watched. Thank you for this, I really appreciate it. It helped me so much.
I’m currently learning Korean because it is such a beautiful language! So I am very happy to have this video to help me even more! Thank you so much Soy❤️
there is nothing like a native speaker teach you the pronunciation of each letter, thank u so much i really hope that u can make more videos like this 🫶🏼
You are a good teacher. I learned more from your videos than anywhere else that I have tried. You showed how letters can be written in more ways than one which is huge for those trying to learn.
This was insane! I had an amazing nap, just woke up and i just feel like it was super soothing, no harsh sounds. My top fav asmr video right know! Pleaseeee make a 2. Part of this Video. Actually when i learned Hangul years ago, it took me so long to understand how to read certain words. For e.g the ending -imnida is not -ipnida but -imnida. The ends of a few words are pronounced very diffrently then one might assume.
As an Spanish classical singer, I study european languages hin order to sing, and your double consonants probably are like the Italian ones, cause if you say them stronger, a double D sounds like T, you wouldn’t probably need to use a double consonant, but just the T sound. You explain everything so well!! A long time ago I watched Latte’s video and learn your alphabet, and with your video I’ve remembered it!!! 🤩🤩🤩 Thanks a lot!
As someone with an auditory processing disorder (for those that don’t know what that is, it basically means I may either process audible things incorrectly or even not at all. I’m not deaf, my hearing’s actually pretty good! It’s more so something with my brain causing it, iirc), writing everything down is super helpful on top of how calm (and easy to keep up with, as sometimes I can’t keep up well if someone speaks fast) your voice is while talking. In other words, educational, easy to understand, and relaxing!
The fact that you😊 know all of the English consonants and Korean consonants is amazing because I don’t even what consonants means and what they are so good job 👍 anyway amazing video thank you for your hard work
