Homemade Pesto: 4 cups basil 3 cloves garlic 1/3 cup nuts 1/2 tsp salt 1/2 tsp pepper 1 cup olive oil 1 cup shredded parmesan Blend garlic, basil, nuts, salt and pepper while drizzling in the olive oil. After blended, add parmesan cheese and blend until desired consistency.

Keto has been a blessing from God for me..I'll be 80 the end of July and been on keto for 3 1/2 years..hope it is good for you as well..happy to see Kevin looking good and feeling well.
My son is diabetic, and this sounds like a good recipe for him. It is also another tasty recipe for zucchini, we always have so much in the summer. Thank you.

Dave’s wife here. For some strange reason we had problems with our basil this year but our parsley did great so we tried parsley pesto! Our daughters loved it too! Take care!
@@allenferry9632 Actually we did it from seed. I had pretty good luck with cilantro also, which usually never happens. We live in Central Florida and had a fairly cool spring considering all the crazy weather and it didn’t seem as hot until about two weeks ago.
@@jeremiahbullfrog9288 You can really use several different kinds of nuts but I think that one's it with a higher fat content are probably better. Pine nuts are traditional but about $30 a pound so I don't do those. Sara is using walnuts. And you can also use unsalted macadamia nuts.
Thank you for sharing such a great recipe! I love your videos so much, you guys (unlike some other homestead UA-camrs..) are never pretentious or contrived, you’re just humbly and honestly you! I love that, it is so refreshing & relatable, so thank you. Keep up the good work
Been following you guys since before 50k subs and I believe that was one of your guys's best videos ever. The rhythm of the video, story, execution and editing was outstanding. It really felt full on professional. Prayers for you family as well✌
Wow, this looks like a yummy yummy recipe! It’s great to see Kevin up and moving around😊 One thing that I really adore about your videos is the fact that you say, “God bless “😊
Thanks, Sarah! I will make this Pesto Chicken Pasta this week. I pray Kevin and his parents are improving and, as always, looking forward to more videos as you can.
Sarah, Thank you for going through your dinner recipe complete with pesto sauce! It is great to see Kevin up and about I hope he is feeling better. Please continue updates, we will continue praying 😊🙏
I hope my basil is bountiful. I want basil pesto and zucchini noodles. I made zoodles with hot sausage and spaghetti sauce. Family said it was good. Praying for your family.
Your kitchen must have smelled wonderful while processing the basil! I occasionally pick a few leaves and crush them in my hands so I can enjoy their fragrance like free cologne!
I just made this with my basil and boy is it delicious! We froze 7 cups. My favorite is parsley pesto, with the same ingredients but we had so much basil, I wanted to give it a try. So good- thank you Sarah! 🌿❤️
Karen here with a suggestion: on your zucchini noodles, would it work using your noodles raw? Raw vegetables carry so much more of their benefits. I remember zucchini in a salad is good, so I would think sliced as a noodle would be delicious.
I use the larger zucchini in the spiral cutter. It takes out the middle and it stays in the cutter so that is the waste. I like the ruching better too. I finally pla Ted enough basil this year to make my own pesto. Thanks for the recipe.
I have found a peeler with 2 sides. One is a regular peeler and the other side makes the noodles, I have used it for all kinds of things. Carrots are great to put into salads or in my house put into sauces so that they disappear. (picky eater) Glad to see Kevin is up and around. God bless.
I made your recipe a couple months ago but put it straight into the freezer. Tonight I used it for dinner and it was a hit! So delicious! Thank you Sarah
Didn't realize pesto could be frozen... awesome. I enjoy spiralized zukes with cherry tomatoes & garlic sauteed in olive oil with Italian seasoning. This looks yummy, too!
I was baptised at 7 but my home life was difficult and I strayed as a teen. I have struggled with doubts ever since. I have been praying and prayed over time and time again with every reason to be closer in my faith yet I feel farther and farther and farther away. My life and usefulness wasting away the older I get (51). Went back to church 25 years ago stopped during the pandemic due to immunosuppression from transplant drugs. My life has been full of blessings yet my soul is in a constant battle. I know my personality and history and mental health make me inclined to distrust and fear of intimacy. It will take a miracle for me to overcome. My hope is withering as there are so many reasons for me to blfeel sold out yet I am plagued by an evil voice of "but what abouts?"
SEPT 2024. Thanks for this recipe Sara, I made two batches today for the freezer. I did add 1 tablespoon of lemon juice to each batch to see if it would keep it from going brown right away. There are many recipes on the internet but I trust you so it is the one I have copied and saved for future basil harvests. I live in Alberta Canada so my growing season is short and I do not have a green house but managed to use basil all summer in my salads and then let it alone to get a nice big harvest for pesto. I used the Genovese Basil this year and it was the best basil I have ever grown where I live. 🌷
One if the tastiest ways to eat zucchini, in my opinion, is to slice it into rounds, put parmesean cheese on each round and heat in oven until brown and bubbly. Yum! 😋
Thank you for sharing this recipe and tutorial. So great to see Kevin too. I just got my Sawyers insect spray today. I have not had ticks yet, but after two major chigger attacks, I'm willing to try anything! We just spotted our first Japanese beetles on Wednesday. The bags really helped last year, so we're getting those ready to hang in the woods. God bless your Independence Day celebrations. God bless America!
Thanks Sarah! As always that recipe looks delicious. We will have to try it when are zucchini gets ripe. Kevin you are looking a lot better in this video. I hope you’re feeling better and resting. The greenhouse is really doing great! Thanks and God Bless! Chuck Henry.
We also are keto and grainfree. Have you guys tried freeze drying your zoodles? That was a game changer for us. Is takes all that extra water out and the zoodles absorb any extra moisture from the sauce. We spiralize ours and the whole family loves them...we also use them as our noodles for chicken noodle soup. God Bless!
I have to agree with you Sarah, basil is my favorite herb. I love the smell of it! I have two pots of basil (1 big pot and 1 small pot) but certainly enough to make this recipe. Thank you for sharing a very timely recipe since my basil needs another cut!
As always you did another awesome tutorial. I have never tried Pesto. But after watch you make this meal I think I’m going to give this a try! thanks and God Bless you and your Family !❤️
We also live in SW Missouri, and 2 years ago, my little dog got Ehrlichiosis from a tick bite. She had to stay overnight at the vet with IV fluids and was on antibiotics for two weeks. I almost lost her. It really weakened her immune system. It just really alerted me to the fact that ticks can be very dangerous and so we also are vigilant about checking every night for them.
I found a citrus basil and have grown it for a few years. It amazingly doesn't turn brown and smells like lemon basil. It's a delight. It also grows much faster and produces a good harvest multiple times a year. I will find the name of it.
I just planted in the herb garden this year, and thanks to you I harvested my basil and made my first ever batch of pesto. I used pumpkin seeds, organic sprouted, pumpkin seeds and everybody really liked it, including myself who doesn’t think she likes pesto but I do now! Your recipe for the chicken pesto, zucchini noodles is going to be a dinner this week! Thank you thank you thank you. God bless you.

Love zuke noodles. The oversized zukes make great lasagna noodles. I use cooked cubed zukes to press in bottom of pan (I think peeled & sliced would work too) as a pizza crust.
Homemade Pesto:
4 cups basil

1/3 cup nuts
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper

Blend garlic, basil, nuts, salt and pepper while drizzling in the olive oil. After blended, add parmesan cheese and blend until desired consistency.
