I don't think it's a Jam but a concept between musicians of the highest level. When music has no commercial purpose it becomes a unique event and should not be filmed or recorded because it is not intended for entertainment purposes. I was moved listening to these heroes of mine play together and I hope they get my applause and my gratitude for having taught me so much in music without ever having met ...
Yo what is with that??? I hadn't seen anything of him recently until I saw this same show from an angle showing him. I was like "his technique and kit looks like Vinnie - but that can't be him!" He was huge. I hope he's ok. He's one of the few guys out there that still plays things that make you go "I have never heard anything played like that!"
one of the most famous studio drummers of all time. Ranked #7 in Modern Drummer magazine's "Top 50 Drummers of All Time" [March 2014 issue]. Vinnie has toured and recorded with the likes of Frank Zappa, Sting, Jeff Beck, Joni Mitchell, etc. Check out his performance from The Baked Potato. Incredible!
What in the fat Vinnie was this? Sorry. but it looks like he ( Vinnie) was there to cash the check. That was poor playing on his part. He is also the one driving it, so everyone else will fall down to his level. I don't care if he is one of the best all time ( and he is).,.. this was horrible., period. I'm sure Vinnie would admit it, if he didn't eat the words first
Well that is also poor writing on les part... he used to be much more inventive ... here we have pretty much the same riff for an hour...quite hard to be fresh and inspired the whole show behind the drums...
@@viviencharrier1984 True. But i'd say the drums are the leader; especially here. LIke the say, you're only as good as your drummer. If Vinnie is not enjoying it, then Les is less ( had to do it) likely to be into it, too. both are there for a check though

Colaiuta Claypool ? Uncanny contraption with a touch of Zappa fragrance. Wish them tighter rehearsals and a long life
Thank You
I hope Vinnie loses some weight. We need him around in a world of non musicians.
Thank you for bringing me there!
So appetizing! I've always wanted a Primus-Zappa smoothie
Just what I needed, some Roger Rabbit music for my evening!
This is like Rock and Roll's answer to Eric Dolphy Out to lunch.
Excellent comparison
Vinny is one of my all time favorite drummers, but was hard to see him after the show the way he's been letting himself go as of late.

Awesome
First time i listened i thought it was a mess of jamming , now listening i really got into it
The section after 14:20 reminds me of "Alien" opening scene
Has some tinges of Zappa throughout.
Wickkkkked
Les always has stellar musicians playing with him. That drummer is off the charts badass. Anyone know who he is?
