Mike Dillon is probably the most talented musician that walks this earth. That night, and that show were absolute fire. It was billed for 2 AM and the line went for blocks and blocks and they didn’t open the doors until three and I think it was getting light when we left that morning.nothing like jazz vest to bring out the best of the best
I like that les made his $ with primus and then just did what he wants. Fearless frog brigade/Lennon claypool delirium and everything in between. Dudes the best. Prob the greatest as of now as a bass player. Like everything he does.
@@tygepolston2582 they are not turning as this. Primus is on tour with their now 3 year long FTK tour. This was a one off. This was the band that was more or less the Fancy band in early mid 2000's (just missing Gabby). This was my favorite period of Les. Saw them 7 times
😮😊😮 So tight ! Was hoping to catch these cats play in SF for New years but couldnt make it. So bummed , hope they reform after Claypool tours with Primus ! Primus socks ! I need a pair or two or three.............
Great bass player, song, increíble. Love his art as a musitian, sólo, etcétera. 30 year of best player. My best group in american . Just a great artist.
This is strangely reminding me of Tack>>Head. Pretty sure the drummer knows who Keith LeBlanc is. A Les Claypool/Doug Wimbish jam would blow this universe in a million new dimensions.
It’s called Bastard Jazz, not jazzy jazz. Mike D and Stanton both have jazz backgrounds. There are obviously fun overtones but regardless of genres this is excellent music.

That was the best! I saw The Cult down the street the night before, walked over to be maybe 6th in line. Magical evening.
I feel like I died and went to heaven right now❤🎉
ANYTHING Les Claypool does is phenomenal, second to none!!!!!

Claypool: Oh, they've invited me to do some jazz thing. I should brush up on my jazz.
Claypool:
Claypool: OK, I can do this.
21st Century Zappa? Nah 😎
Les in the new Zappa no doubts
@@txerkys comparing a durian to kombucha
@@lazuliwinters743 who to who? Les just makes better music than zappa tho.
Wish there was a performance released as an album, this is amazing
UA-cam to mp3 converter is your friend
Or catch them on tour. Tix on sale now
while not this exactly, the fancy band era is more or less this. Check out his solo whales and woe

@@GregGolightly they literally are doling a mini bastard jazz tour this summer bro
moments of blinding brilliance
Love every genre/style of music Les plays. The only comparable artist I can think of is Frank Zappa!
And now Vinnie Colaiuta is playing drums with this band at the Napa shows! Even MORE Zappa-esq!
Totally happy Zappa vibes…. I feel like I’m in high school again.❤
Agree. He is our and then some generation of zappa. And zappa was even weirder 😂but les is the shit no matter what he does
King Crimson, Rush, The Mahavishnu Orchestra, The Talking Heads, Ween
Les AND Stanton Moore??? That's a groove-monster!
Recall them playing together at the first Bonnaroo-early morning jamming.

Too cool...also super fun to jam to....shredding it! 🤘🤘🤘
I'm gonna go see them at the Guild in Menlo Park in July.

Try Headhunters or Medeski, Martin and Wood
Very of Wales and woe and I dig it
Thanks for posting this.
Did I catch a little Fantastic Voyage into Tommy the Cat around 15ish minutes?! So cool
Les Claypool and the Mothers of ReInvention. 👌 Actually, write that down!
Actually - trademark it!!
Very nice ☺️👏
♥️ claypool para presidente de México ♥️
Rey de México.
An enlighted king for sure.

May I just say one thing? SKERRRRRRRRIIIIIIIIK!
Maradona and Messi, Zappa and Claypool
Ribs and spine? Whats goin on with my ribs and spine?
Nice
I like this view. 😛
POWAH
23:45 Lightning fingers...
Mrs. Claypool is a lucky women.
who are the others? Pretty sure the one guy is Mike Dillon, is that Skerik on the sax? It kind of looks like him but I can't tell.
Mike Dillon
Skerik
Stanton Moore
@@myname8888 almost got the frog brigade back together, just needed a couple of the others
Yesssssss it's Skerik...the one and only
My wish list: Les Claypool, Guthrie Govan & Jojo Mayer produced by Jacob Collier.
Hell nah. All those dudes have way different styles.
I would totally agree...absolute Traum Konstellation 😇👍👍👍
Is that Mike Dillion Playing the xylophone
Yup
@@brianh7470 He is an incredible percussionist. Awesome.
It’s not a xylophone, it’s a vibraphone. And he doesn’t play it, he slaughters it. Mike D is God‘s gift to percussion.
One night stand music
Patrick Star: "I don't get jazz..."
At one point Les says “What is The Bastard Jazz?.. two words that sound cool together”
Is that a Jazz bass? 🧐
nee a Funk bassen
Its a pachyderm bass (Les' own brand)
It is when Les plays jazz
A funk jam band, not jazz.

It all sounds like the same song. And it sure doesn't swing. I guess by "jazz" he's thinking more Soft Machine/Zappa/Grateful Dead/Brand X variety.
I love this guy but this is just noodling
Poor mans Zappa. Zappa wannabes without good songs and musicianship.
The psyche ward seems to be missing a patient...
If Zappa was around to hear you say that, he'd disown you as a fan 🙄
Oh shut up Dave
You seem like a sad person
Les has played with Dweezil's band and is a friend of the Zappa family
