Thank you Jim , Stephany and Griffin . Looks like another plant that I’ll have to find so I can plant one. I can’t wait to see the daffodils in the spring. 🍁🍂🍁🦃💚🙃
I planted a Color Guard Yucca about 5 years ago and love the variegated leaves. I wasn't sure it would even live in my heavy clay soil, but it's still alive and so is the Russian Sage (which has spread everywhere) that I planted near it. I have never watered either of these plants, and they don't get watered from the underground sprinklers. I had to stop using my underground sprinklers nearly 10 years ago because our town has a strict water usage policy.
i bought two of these gorgeous plants this fall on clearance. I have them in the ground. I have heavy clay soil like you, but so far they are doing great. In the spring i'll dig them up and replant them in well draining soil
This plant is not rabbit resistant. I live in the Phoenix, AZ area and bought 10 to plant around my patio, they were a border around a stone patio to gravel on the outer edge. they looked great for 1 year and then the rabbits ate them to the ground. Only little knubs left. I sprayed with Liquid fence and that did not deter them. This is a beautiful, low maintenance plant but did not work for me.
'Color Guard's' translucent leaves really light up in the low winter sun. Mine are near the sidewalk where many dogs walk their humans each day. Funny, none of them are interested in yuccas.
Be careful where you plant this yucca. When you realize that it outgrows the space such as a dry rock garden, you will never get rid of all the tubers and every year dig and rip up your mistake. A container is a perfect spot for this.
Working at a nursery I sell so many of the color guard that I prefer ‘bright edge’ & more unique varieties. The rice hulls that growers are using are cool, but I don’t like the goo that’s around the fertilizer. How’s your windmill palm?
Container inspector Griffin has the cutest face Jim. :)
He is a very cute dog and he's getting more self control everyday!

I like your idea of underplanting the yucca with bulbs! Very clever! I've never seen this particular combo before. 👌
The star appears at the end 👏👏
This plant shines in winter here in zone 5. It's a real winner.

Thanks you for watching!
Home Depot has them for 50% off right now.
Yes!!! This video showed up just in time. I just bought 10 of these from Lowes on clearance for $3 bucks each. Love your video! Thank you😉
Good find!
me too, but i think i paid $7 for each.
Interesting about the rice! I noticed that on plants I bought this spring. Looking forward to seeing the daffodils bloom!

It's great. Happy in the ground so far. I would definitely want my fertilizer premixed in my soil media, if I was topdressing
I bought a color guard. all the babies came out solid green. urgh!
