Scrambled O another cool video! Glad to see you discovered bank line: cheaper than paracord plus it won’t hang around for a hundred years without rotting in the woods if you leave it out there. Great stuff when you’ve got a lot of lashing to do. Also, the fire pit is looking great! I can’t wait until I’m somewhere I can set up a Base camp in the woods, no spots available to me here at my current duty station. Thanks for the inspiration!
Dude, I have to say, I have been subscribed to your channel for about a year. Enjoy your videos, this past year I started having panic attacks, which have gotten better. But I have always been able to watch your videos and relax. Also I moved in with a friend of mine who needed a full time babysitter while she works night. You definitely have a future subscriber in her 7 month old, she always enjoys sitting in my lap and watching your videos with me. So thank you for what you do. Jerry
This a phenomenal bushcraft channel and the video he’s makes are great way for people learning about bushcraft and to be education about outdoors activities and I am glad to support this amazing man and his experience exciting bushcraft channel and I hope he gets more subscribers soon 🤴🤴🤴🤴🤴🤴🤴🤴🤴🤴🤴🤴🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀👍👍👍
something I have seen others do in their camps was raise the height of their fire reflector which is supposed to act as a chimney to draw the smoke up. I have also seen the Siberian fire lay done where the top logs are touching each other in the front instead of fanned out. nice use of the naan for your breakfast!
Another great breakfast there O. Something I've done people all the time through out grills so I snagged the grates out of them. Little welding, little chain and some imagination and you can come up with a great cook system for your camp. Be waiting for your next video have a great day.
Wonderful intro, with ice cracking and everything! LOL Damn BOY! That sandwich looks great, that flavour and crispiness...amazing! haha. Always enjoy your videos Martin, thumbs up from Sweden!
Find an old kids swing set and get the chains off it and use 3 lengths to hang an old round grill grate. just cut the end links into hooks for the grate. Great video
Fire looks like a great way to deal with wind coming in the direction of the lean of the awning. Like the slow zoom in on the bacon lol. Great camera work btw and nice gomboy ;)
another great video, but I have to confess i laughed when you almost fell on the ice, just because you normally are so cool and as you danced along cutting up as per your usual, then suddenly a few ooopsy words, LOL, it was sort of comical because you are such a cut-up. Love watching your vids. Thanks!
Loved the new vid. I check youtube everyday for your new vids. I can almost smell the bacon cook'n. Sure wish I was there with ya bro. Keep'em coming man.
Looks delish! I'll try that here at home! If I may offer a suggestion about your table? If you split those round pieces of wood in half and then lay them alternating flat-side up, flat side down, you will have a much more stable platform. Also, you'll only need half as many pieces of wood!
Next time place the pan under the bacon to catch some fat drippings before cooking the eggs. It'll help prevent sticking. I carried about 2 feet of light duty chain and a couple S hooks to hang my grill from a tripod. Easy to pack, light and most important, adjustable. Great videos, I like the fact that you share as you learn.
i use a small stainless chain and made 4 legs star from the chain that holds the circle shaped grill and from there a single chain that is connected to the four legs is going up the tripot, this way it is stable adjustable and easy to move away when you don't need it, i use it for years now.
Great video, as usual. I really enjoy the condensed videos you make where you are just showing what needs shown. It's a much better video than these feature movie length vids some are starting to make. Keep it up and I'll keep checkin' innnnn....
Get 2 pieces of rebar and put them back underneath the rocks on the other side with 9-10 inches sticking out over the fire pit. That should although you to put a small rack or your griddle on them. Then you will be able to push coals under it and what not! Should Work! Have fun! Love your videos!!!
Didnt expect that ice to break - that was funny Mr. Squishy foot. By the way - the Fire pit looks good. Great idea on the fire ! Can't wait to try a fire in that fashion.
You actually don't need a fire reflector if you have a decent Siberian logfire. It shoots the heat forward. Les batoning, no reflector and less maintenance at night make this an ideal wintercamping fire. For more info check out the survival Russia page. I'm a fan. I Think it is awesome that you are using this firelay in this video. I see waaaay to much batonning and reflectorbuilding. It seems redundant
I sure do love yer vids. Also, busted out laughing with your "dirt flavoring".......maybe you could bottle up some dirt and market it as authentic camp flavoring😀
Great video as always sir. When I see scrambled o and bacon in the title I know it’s going to be a good weekend. Taco thing looked sooo good. How do you not have more subs??? You’re my Favorite youtuber out there. Keep up the great videos!
I am sorry you busted through the ice like that. I have done that before and I know how obnoxious it can be. BUT, it made me laugh so hard. Thank you. I needed that this morning.
The top logs on your Siberian Fire need to be much thicker and longer. Like 6" thick and 6' long or more. As the logs get consumed you just kick the ends of the logs to add more new fuel. Once it's going you don't need to add any more fuel at the bottom. The Siberian Fire is intended to last for hours as you sleep.
Good 'bacon hack!' I often bake bacon in an oven at home...it takes about 25 minutes at 350F. As you say, it takes more time than many of us imagine to cook bacon crisp without burning it in spots.
For your hanging grill, get a round grill, attach 3 or 4 heavy chains to hang it from the top of your tripod. It's not Bush crafty buy neither is a frying pan lol. Just a thought.
Like everything you did in this video especially the bacon rack. ......... it looked like you've broken your Silky saw . Just remember it only cuts on the pull so when you are pushing forward with it do not push down or get in a hurry. Let the saw do the work and not you . One really cannot speed up a Silky saw it is designed to save your energy. It does that on its own and needs no assistance from you. Once you learn that it will be your best friend because it keeps you warm . Great video !
Great Vid buddy. Nice to see you trying a new fire. If you spread the over hang logs at the back so they do not touch each other, in a fan like set up, you can just push them in as needed. They tend not to spread the fire along the logs. Hope that kinda made sense . Catch you on the next one.
1. Use rocks for your grill, not a stick that can burn. 2. You have a pan. Cook the bacon in the pan on the grill (no.1 above). Then you have grease to cook the egg. 3. Don't complicate things :). 4. Have fun!
bank line is indeed tarred and binds on itself very easily. but being tarred it also lights easily so near fire it could be an issue. also it seperates into 3 strands which make excellent thread to repair tarps and other stuff with.
Mmmmmm.... love me some bankline, it holds knots (especially like the Canadian jam knot) better than paracord, etc.. Plus it's cheap too! I usually keep a roll of #36 and #96 on-hand.
Smaller rocks positioned to place your grill/griddle on, you will have to feed your fire then slide coals under(some work is good). About the smoke swirl, i dunno, but thinking about trying to place my next fire pit elevated along the bottom of the ridge/hill-side my camp is next too. It will also be better to access as far as not having to stoop. I'm 6'2" and a bit older, just noodling ideas.. ATB
Health tip: Burning/smoldering bank line and food don't go well together. Even fumes from bank line heating up can be problematic if it gets into the food... Try to keep the joints with the bank line as far from the fire and food as possible.
Consider trying the spiral wood auger in a stump (vs Swedish fire torch) and have contained fire and cooking platform. Also long log fire, drill horizontal hole for the opening, then make a backwards diagonal drill hole for the chimney. Do this for multiple burn spots across the log, vs a total global warming Burning Man event. The opening is on the outside (unfortunately of facing the shelter, while the diagonal chimney is pointed toward the shelter shooting the forced hot air (and actually less smoke) toward the person and the shelter heating system (and even better with a Mors supershelter as the hot air is forced against the plastic sheeting (or my Tyvek). Contained fire, longer burning time, more concentrated burning and use of the heat - instead of warming up the planet.
*Come find me on Instagram @scrambled_o* Hope you guys enjoy this little video. :)🌲🔥😁

Good lookin breakfast taco!
Dirt seasoning... Cracked me up!
I'll have to try that fire lay, nice vid Martin! Happy New Year!
Great video!
What will people forget first, Scrambled dropping his bacon or Joe losing his firesteel?
Saw up small fist size pieces of wood to feed the fire. Leave some out to gather water to add smoke flavor.Just a suggestion. That's how I bbq.
Great Vid buddy. Nice to see you trying a new fire. If you spread the over hang logs at the back so they do not touch each other, in a fan like set up, you can just push them in as needed. They tend not to spread the fire along the logs. Hope that kinda made sense . Catch you on the next one.
