I blame Mia for everything Jimmy is going through. She is the one who kept pushing him to rodeo again even though the doctors had told him of what might happen if he did and he promised John to stay away from trying to rodeo again. So when she says he didn't pick her just made me mad because he most certainly did pick her by trying to rodeo again. So now Jimmy has to leave the ranch because of his choice to do what Mia kept pushing him to do.
I agree. She talked him up on that horse again. Jimmy wasn’t betrayed. Jimmy shouldn’t have to justify to Mia, his commitment to the ranch. John Dutton gave him a home and family.

Jimmy is desperate to fit in and feel cared about. He's tried to cowboy up, but in walks the selfish Mia .

Na, that's Jimmy's call. He should of explained to her his life is more important than some rodeo dream couple Mia wants. It really comes to show that they're not meant to be as the show moves forward.
Yet she doesn't see that he DID choose her. She goaded him into getting on that bronc. He wouldn't have done it otherwise. Risked his life and livelihood for her.

Really like Mo. Always have. He watches and quietly observes. Wisdom runs deep with this one. Really like that they are developing this character more.

One of my fave scenes of the entire series is before they bust into the militia's hideout to rescue Tate, and Mo "protects" Rip's horse. It's such a powerful moment. I'd love some more scenes between the 2 of them (as long as they're not fighting *each other*!)

Glad someone else shares the same feelings. Beth is about the only gal in this series that isn't obnoxious and overbearing. Sheridan does a fantastic job of writing amazing characters for the men, but the lady roles aren't much to talk about.

Exactly, mia basically told Jimmy "keep rodeoing and you can have me" if only mia had met Jimmy before he got the brand, maybe she would think differently. Give her credit she stuck by him in physical therapy but Jimmy had a job and was willing to provide for Mia and that wasn't enough. Kind of like nothing is ever good enough for Monica. She had no problem being John Dutton daughter in law when it got her a nice new job at the college or when she asked John Dutton to take Tate out camping while building the new cattle cabin. But the ranch is evil. Huh so when Monica was part of the set up when the perv got shot in the head ontop of her was that in the ranch? How bout when her brother killed Kaycee brother in season 1 , was that on the ranch? Or when the student punched her and gave her a concussion, was that on the ranch? Oh it was on the reservation you say? I thought it was all rainbows and butterflies on the reservation?
They aren’t bunnies though. As barrel racers They are actual rodeo performers. Buckle bunnies chase after the rodeo guys.
my favorite part of the episode is getting to see Moe at home
Kayce had no choice but snap his son out that funk. The poor kid only did what he had to do, and it made me wonder where Grandpa was for this. I liked what Mo and Rainwater did for John, and yes Rainwater wants to defeat John but only in the right fight. Hopefully, we'll see Jamie get more involved with who planned the ambush and the family drama will kick up another level. LOVE THIS SERIES! WELL DONE MR. SHERIDAN!

Luke in this episode was SUPERB, Kayce is spot on when dealing with Tate and his lines were amazingly delivered. Finally we get to see more of Mo's life, and hopefully even more in the future. This episode has much better pace than eps 1/2.
The woman who played Mo’s wife is his real-life wife.

Sorry, I would never have allowed either of my son's to hide under the bed for 2 months. And yes, it's "allowed", because at some point you have to step up and be a strong parent ... especially when your child is traumatized. If Monica doesn't feel the ranch is a safe place for her child, fine, take action. But getting professional help for her child should have already been happening.

Monica makes it very hard to like her. She has no problem taking the perks of John Dutton, like the job at the college, which led to apartment and more income, new clothes and so on. Kaycee was fine staying in the apartment and traveling to work, he didn't force her to move into a big beautiful house on a ranch, where her boy can have his own horse. But plenty of bad things have happened on the reservation too. Did she forget her brother killing the oldest Dutton boy in the first season in cold blood? Or the student punching her and giving her a concussion? How bout when she was all Gaga over her physical therapist while still married. Or when she set up the sting operation and had a guy get shot in the head while on top of her? Very bad person and had it coming, but she acts like the reservation is all rainbows and flowers. Monica did ask John Dutton to take Tate out camping when they were building a new cattle camo right? Bad things happen every where. Like I said Monica makes it very hard to like her.
@@chadbinette3201 Uh Monica supported Kayce for a decade before John decided he wanted to know his grandfather. She was pretty happy in the beginning just being a school teacher. Y'all really should rewatch the show. Kayce literally told Monica "I don't know how to not be with you", and she moved in to the ranch for Kayce's sake.
Bad things happened at the Res, yes, at a school, and on open fields. Its' different than when your boy is kidnapped in front of the ranch, and then armed men tried to kill you and your kid. The idea that its' wrong she was traumatized by living in the house and wanting to leave is absurd. They needed a change of scenery, since all sense of safety left after the attack.

Monica literally forgave Kayce for killing her own brother. She understood what her brother became.
Yeah, and she had to care for Tate alone, while Kayce was in the military. Not easy is it. When Kayce was out of the military, Monica was more than happy to support him. She only took the teaching job AFTER she recovered and Kayce moved back into the ranch. She only did it in order to care for her kid and keep him safe.
The entire clothes argument is just ludicrous. Most of her outfits have been flannels. Yes she likes to wear clothes with her heritage.
The idea that Monica giving Tate bathes, who's 10, maybe 12 in the show btw, is worse than him being kidnapped or him having to shoot someone to save his mom's life is just amazing. Yes, totally mate, Monica is the problem. There's absolutely nothing wrong with what's happened to Tate during his time on the ranch.
Considering the Ranch and the Res are at best a wash, it makes sense why Monica would rather live by her friends and relatives. Its' her people that helped Tate recover from his PTSD.

My problem with Monica is that she’s not Native American, the producers definitely should have used a Native American to play a Native American, otherwise I love the show

Jamie's dad is behind it. He just got out of prison, the guy was probably is old cellmate. I think that's why you see Jamie go "oh no" after Kayce brings the warrants to him. Two and two, Jamie feels betrayed again, and shoots his real Dad. I think the next two episodes are going to be epic!!

I was thinking the same thing....Jamie is has been used by his bio dad and is going to have to make amends with his "real" father John and his siblings. Like John told him a real father isn't the one who gave you life, the real father is the one who raised you and gave you "A life"

@@hiker4life4020 Not sure what you're asking but no one said anything about Jamie's bio dad knowing or pretending to know about ranching. But he did try to give Jamie advice when the told him to NOT buy horses, to buy Kawasaki mules instead. Anyway, Jamie would listen to anyone who he wanted approval from because he has always be insecure and craved approval. I think that is his greatest weakness.
Yes you are right thats only reason knew who john was. I hope rain water and Dunton make amends because they have alot in common.
Loved seeing Mo at home
Beth delivered the best line of the show to the mother accusing her of child abuse when she told her she knew nothing about resistance.

I LOVE the cinematography. The color grading is amazing. Not only is the show well written and has an amazing cast, but it has a distinct look as well.
Colter Wall’s song at the very beginning when the boys were taking down the militia was so fitting! Big fan of his music!
"Someone from the outside" contacts the guy in prison, who contacts the party planner.... who just got out of prison? Jamie's dad.... too convenient but the signs are pointing to it
Not only do I think your dead on Nate…but I also believe Jamie will have to be the one to put him down…More than likely, he will have to choose btwn John and his biological father and Jamie will choose John causing Beth to possibly ease up on him some. Jamie may not like Beth but he would never do anything to hurt her, John, Kayce, his nephew Tate or Rip who’s always been like another brother to him. It’s one thing to turn your back but another thing to pull triggers. No way he chooses his Dad over John.

@@bloun003 Agreed. This is why Jamie is one of my favorite characters. No matter what, he is right when he tells John that Beth comes to him when she has problems. One was the abortion, which I just think both didn't realize what they were getting themselves into, and then later on when she breaks and is about to commit suicide and Jamie stops her.
@@spirittammyk Oh I’m with you. Jamie is definitely one of the more intriguing characters and a favorite of mine. My only complaint is that he isn’t blood related to John. I wanted there to be another reason why John seemed so distant towards him vs his love for Kayce and Lee. I wish it wasn’t because he was adopted.

I have been annoyed with the writing for the women in this show so far this episode. They kinda just get on my nerves with, of course the exception of Beth.
Agreed. We haven't been able to stand Monica for a long time. And Jimmy's girl is even worse. She is the reason Jimmy got back on that horse...JD knew what would happen, and yet, she blames everyone but herself.
All of us I think, Monica is weak and making Tate weak, she is only strong when she wants to be, if it is important to her, never there when Kayce needs her and still saying horrible things about John after all he has done for her and Tate. As for Mia, all of this tragedy for Jimmy is because of her nagging him into it. Beth is actually the one everyone can depend on.

Now there's a war inside my heart... cause I was ready to come here and say truly that Yellowstone is my favorite show ever! I love the story, the crew! Everything is perfect! The soundtrack is amazing, introducing me a new song every episode. But the war began as soon I began to watch 1883. Now I'm afraid that I need to set a spot in my heart to say that I love both! I just can't wait what comes next. I just wanna say "Thank You!" for all these priceless TV shows! I never was the same since I met that. That's we call the true work: when you mark the lives of people that attend you.

Unfortunately I live in a very rural area with Internet via satellite. That means streaming is impossible. I wish the prequel to Yellowstone (1813?) and 6666 could be on TV as well. I know a lot of folks are cutting the cord but I get TV via satellite as well and just can’t do streaming. My big fear is Yellowstone will one day move to Paramount+ also. 🙁

Very good episode. I actually thought this was the most balanced episode so far this season and it felt more like the Yellowstone I fell in love with the first 3 seasons
Especially with the monica and tate scene. Kayce proved again why he deserves to protect the ranch. Tate is in good hands great episode

Quick question, when John Dutton was changing the tire for the lady last season, there was a boy with her. That boy did not get shot. Does anyone know what happened to the boy? As far as this episode goes, it killed me that both Beth and Carter had to learn pivotal lessons in this episode. After our "hamburger helper scene" in the last episode, I was ready for Carter to start receiving advantages and blessings from everyone since he appeared to really understand what Rip meant about "not deserving this" as well as working hard. I thought he got it and maybe Rip could even ease up a bit. I was happy Beth insisted like only she could that the boy was done and her and Carter could spend some potential Mama and son time together. Boy, was I wrong...and I have a son. I know how they test you as parents. I got suckered in to Taylor Sheridan's amazing writing and never saw the unexpected turn he's known for doing when telling these stories. I won't ever sleep on Carter again, nor will I question Rip's tactics for training and disciplining the boy. He knows exactly how to handle this boy...this boy was him years ago.

Alot of people are hating on Monica for this episode. But what Kacey says about fighting for the land and fighting evil triggers her people's fight against those who took the land. There's more to those comments than just that scene. I'm sure it will dig deeper here this season.

Taylor's vision for the telling of this country is walking a fine line around so many issues that exists in today's timeline and what has evolved from such a sorry time at the beginning of Yellowstone to today resonates with everyone who sits down and actually watches and listens to what is being said.
As a history buff and one who dreamed of being a cowboy in his youth,to this Old man now, I love this show more than ever. It brings to light many issues faced by our Native Americans and their chitty treatment as well as the politics that have made it so,to the corporate raiders who are trying to destroy what is left of the West. All while keeping us captivated by the visuals and endearing music and the action sequences.
While I know that this show will end in a couple of seasons, I know that it's effect on me will last a lifetime.
Thank you to Taylor and the cast and crew of this...

I appreciate the music selection. "All I See Is You" is a Shane Smith and the Saints song. Yellowstone has done a great job in using "Red Dirt" Country and New-Traditional Country Music each week. Not that crap that Nashville puts out these days. I mean real and honest music from rural America; music that real people that "cowboy" for a way of life choose.

Nothing much on the Rez, I mean we do have a lot of culture, but the majority of theyounger generation isn't much into learning their culture. Just a lot of alcohol, addiction, and pain, you will find on the Rez.

Mia doesnt even deserve Jimmy. She has done nothing but make him feel less since the beginning. she must have KNOWN he is the type of guy to prove himself everytime. She drove the poor kid to make him prove to everyone he still could rodeo. Still after the first accident.
