These are two excellent videos. Thank you for posting them. I have found them very helpful when learning these dances. If you have any similar videos available I would encourage you to post them. Greetings from Edinburgh.
@ewangoc Hello Ewangoc We just posted our performance for this year. It is a dance that one of our members put together just for this show. Let us know what you think. It is labeled RSCDS Twin Cities - 2011 Festival of Nations Thanks Andy McCracken
@Jennyanyrats : I am sorry --- it must have been a trick of the light: I have timed a few strathspeys on You-Tube, both those that look slow and those that look fast, and they all come out within a second or two of 62 seconds for 32 bars of strathspey music.
@TwosStepUp We're kind of confused by your question. It doesn't seem especially fast to us. The music is the original recording by the San Francisco Branch, which published this dance. Could it be playing faster on your computer for some reason?
Welcome to You-Tube! Thanks for your videos. But I am very intrigued with the dance---it is very fast for a strathspey: in fact it is not much slower than the reel you have posted for Shiftin' Bobbins. Is that your normal style? or is the dance special?
