We grow vegetables with waste heat

Boden in the year 2021: Next to our data centers and new, green industries there are hundreds of greenhouses where fruit and vegetables are being cultivated all year round. The greenhouses employ hundreds of people and provide large parts of the region with produce that we previously had to import from all over Europe. A large part of the fruit and vegetables sold in stores are now grown in Boden.
This vision might sound far away, but the determination and much of the heat is here already. At this moment we are completing a 300 square metre large greenhouse where we will make use of the waste heat from a data center. Here we will experiment, hone the technology and see what we can grow. Jobbcenter will also manage the social fund-project Växtzon oändling here, where the greenhouse will become a workplace and give new skills to people who for different reasons have been outside the labour market. And the idea is of course to be able to sell fruits and vegetables in stores.
