I can only recommend the Road5 tires, they have excellent grip even in low temps (like 35F). Thanks for the review I, just ordered the 2019 version of this bike.
Lol you had traction lights come on cuz the stock tires dealerships give are the budget shit that's on sale/bulk purchase. I blew through my Bridgestone S20's in like 5300 KMS. I just got some Dunlop Sportmax Q3+ for next season and I can't freaking wait!!
@@CaliMotoTV I have 2 friends who tried the Power RS, now we're all trying the Q3+'s due to overall better ratings. Q3+ apparently lasts longer too... My buddy went through 2 Power RS rear tires in 1 and a half riding season... They don't last if you do wheelies.
@@CaliMotoTV Clearly not. He had belt showing after 1 season... Same with my Bridgestone Battlax S20... Utter garbage those tires, continuously saw TC light coming out of corners.
Just got myself a 2020 MT-09! Upgraded from an R3. Bike is a monster and I love it! Definitely want to get out to a track eventually, but as a pretty damn fat guy I need to get the suspension redone and order some custom leathers.
Do those Michelin Road 5's stick well all the way out to the edge? I have been using the Michelin Pilot power originals since they came out. I have them on my MT09 now but the mileage is not the greatest. If I get 3k miles out of them they are toast. Been curious if the Road 5 tires would work as well in the twisties.
Don't you think it needs a suspension upgrade? i am about to buy the same bike 2018 MT09 . I had a 2016 that i put a ZX10R rear shock and i loved it!! let me know
Great riding and VLOG! Are you are still using the stock shocks and forks on the 2018 in this video? Would you like to comment on the damping and preload settings on the shocks and forks for track use? Is the 2018 suspension sportier than the old models? How does the stock s20 tires do in this track? I'm thinking of getting a 2018 version. Thank you.
Depends on a lot... I love my buddies Z900, that sound is very impressive... but it lacks the low end torque/power that I just LOVE about the MT09. I get up on 1 tire with EASE 1st 2nd and he struggles a bit in 2nd. I also do not like the gauges on the Kawa... Whereas the MT is absolutely gorgeous. Try them both I would strongly suggest.
Z900 costs a bit more, better suspension for sure, deff heavier and you feel it. But I won't lie I kinda liked the more "aggressive" sitting positon on the Z900 but the MT09 you get use to it and I don't have any issues... Worse case change the bars for lower ones and it's fixed. Sorry but I am addicted to wheelies and the MT09 is built for that.
Its stock on the 2018 base mt09? Is it up and down quick shifter or only up? Im looking at possibly getting one next month. I saw online that its ride by wire but some some its throttle cable. Im new to bikes 😂
Pulls and Pulls and Pulls.....incredible. Love Yamaha bikes Always well engineered and amazing engines.

@@CaliMotoTV compared to other tires, they're crap. The Q3+ I got next to me feels stickier to the touch.
That was the sickest video on the MT 09 Ive watched so far!

Cali Moto TV thanks for the quick reply bro!
ABS does not shut off with traction control off. The ABS light goes off at around 6 mph
What kind of tire hugger did you use
Great riding! 👍

Whats the name of the song at the bikeporn?
Well that cleared up a lot of questions! Thanks!
Man there’s a 2018 at a dealership near me, left over for 6999. Should I???
