A little tip i picked up from another resin crafter (can't remember who).... if you fill your molds with water when you get them, and then measure it, you can write on your mold with permanent marker how much it holds for future pours! Helps for bigger pieces. Just make sure your mold is completely dry before pouring resin.
I’m by no means an expert on your videos or certainly your craft, but this was my favorite video of yours to date. You showed various techniques and the reasons why. You showed your studio and how complex your work is. You showed the finished product. It’s not perfect in appearing how you imagined it, but showing that as the artistic process is amazing. Thanks for the video!
I didn't think the black would effect it that much. With the lighting in the photo, it is beautiful. Looks so real in the photo. Thanks Dave for showing is the pressure pot. 😊
Very pretty. Julie I watch a lot of wood turners who use pressure pots on the regular. They run duck tape across to bottom of tray and up the sides fold the tape over on itself leaving about about 5 inches on each sides for handles to raise and lower the resin wood pour trays into the pressure pot. Or the use a bucket with a handle that fits inside your pressure pot to lower and raise resin pours. ❤❤❤
Just a tip, I tie mine to flower or other objects prior to putting it into the resin to paddle pop stick etc. I also put resin into flowers in a cup and let it cure. Helps to stop the floating
That was really neat to have Dave show us to use the pressure pot for resin.Your rose turned out Very Beautiful . You might have to put it on your outside table different times. ❤
I love watching your videos, Julie. You never disappoint. I did notice at the beginning when you were pouring the resin into the petals that the red was getting darker. I was thinking maybe if you had a darker pink rose, it would do the same thing, and the rose would appear to be more red. Just a thought. And what if instead of adding glitter to the resin, you lined the edges of the petals with uv resin and sprinkled a fine red glitter on them.
Just an FYI. If you are going to continue to do deep pours, keep a close eye on your depth. Because you can't see what is happening, you run the risk of thermal cracking when using the pressure pot. Sprague Woodturning is an excellent reference on the subject.
@@monicas310no- the moisture in the flower reacts with the resin, and it won't turn out. You'll get a nasty brown mess, that often won't cure properly! It really is necessary to be fully dry. There are great ways to dry a flower that keeps them looking good- lots of great videos!
I love this. Julie! On Temu they have holographic roses. All different colors. They're beautiful. I did one in a small sphere, and forgot to pull it away from the bottom but you could do an amazing one.
It's really pretty, I love flowers in resin. A thought, maybe you can drill a hole in the bottom and put a small light in. Don't know the logistics of that idea but worth thinking about 😅
Thank you for the trial and error. I will watch them all. I love how your mind works. Oh I love the flower I think it is beautiful. I have wanting to see how a flower would look in resign. Have a blessed day 🥰🥰🥰
Ha! That pressure pot looks so very much like my American™ pressure cooker! Don't have to put air into a cooker, so no compressor, but same wingnut arrangement, pressure gauge, and pressure release rocker (instead of a release valve). Thanks for the demo, Dave!! 👍 Oooh, those red glitters are gorgeous! 😍 The rose is sooo pretty! ❤ It tirned oit really well. @PouringYourHeartOut IDEA: spray artificial - and dyed! - flowers with hairspray or varnish to prevent dye-bleed. I don't think the black base is making it that dark. Would love to see you do this again! 😊❤👍
That last pic shows it off beautifully! I’d love to get a pressure pot. Especially for pours like this, those petals can hide a lot of bubbles. I do know for safety reasons it’s important to clamp the lid down very tightly the way Dave did. When I do get one, I’m going to be asking for my hubbies help too, I just don’t have the strength to do that properly. I recently discovered an easier way to de-mold large pieces. If you set the mold resin side down on a silicone oven pad.. ya know the kind with the waffle texture? It won’t slip and the mold can just be peeled off. Thanks for the pressure pot demo and a great project!❤
great project video, thank you, beautiful result, imagine any color rose is a candidate, yellow, white, orange, the black bottom as you say might have been clear for more light let into the resin ball, thanks again, that took teamwork , but wow what a result, its gotta weigh 5 lbs, little bit larger than a softball
I love that Dave is in this video with her! So sweet! ❤❤❤ I would LOVE to have tea with this couple! I think they would be a great bunch to be with! Love it! 😊
Hi Dave 👋. Thank you for your help Dave. This did turn out beautifully. You'll just have to keep it outside when possible lol. This was fun to watch. ✌️❤️🤣 peace, love and happiness
Very pretty. Ms Julie I’ve bought one of your molds and didn’t received a puffy heart😢😂. Love your vids and ideas. You always give me a smile. Best wishes from South Africa.❤
I think you should give it another go & since the flower is so large. Try doing it in the larger mold & of course don’t use the black. As always I did enjoy your video. Have a wonderful day 💐
Perhaps two lolly sticks and cloths peg the stem lay across the sticks. A stone either side of the peg for stability. The rose is beautiful🤩! I love it! Puffy hearts were an added bonus.❤❤
I love this because it was a learning adventure.i also loved it because it was a happy accident and we learned together not to use black on this type of pour
Awww, I love that Dave helps you with the pressure pot, so sweet. My goodness, this is a chore. Interesting how dark it is. The photo looks great. xoxoxooxoxoxo
Hi Julie, I have been watching your videos since August when I started resining. You have inspired me in so many ways. Thanks for that. I was watching your video with the rose in a silicone ball. I thought if you used a darning needle through the stem of the rose it should hold it up so the face of the rose wont touch the bottom of the mold. Anyway was just a thought and I would love it if I helped you in any way as you have helped me so much. Thanks again xx.
A rubber band around a popsicle stick will hold the stem exactly where you want it. I wonder if spraying a sealant lightly before-hand on the rose will hold the color better?
Turned out really pretty despite being a bit too dark of a base. 😅 ...Maybe you can get Dave to help you drill some holes from the bottom all the way up through the black layer and either add LED or fairy lights or just fill the holes with plain clear resin so the light from a light-up base can get through? 🤔 Using the wireless LED lights that need the special wire base to glow might work best for that (Evan & Katelyn used them with the official copper charge wire in a base for game dice but Daniel Cooper recently used one on a Rudolph pendant with a wireless phone charger which you might be able to hide in a pretty resin base too) because you can just drop them in drilled holes around the base of the rose, fill with clear (and maybe a bit more black) resin and it should light up when placed on the appropriate base. 😉👍🏼
Have you considered using Chamelion Powder to punch up the flower before putting in the clear? Just make sure you remove loose powder as much as possible. You could tip the flowers with the powder or even with an acryllic or metallic pen, too. Just a couple of ideas I had when you demolded the piece. The black background might not have been the best idea, eh? 😆I wonder if using a silver or even a pearl shade would make things pop even more. I love watching your work, and am a beginning resin artist who also works with precious metal clays and polymer clays for making jewelry. I wish I could afford to get your molds, but I am, alas, in the United States. The shipping is killer! 🤑
Thanks for the tutorial on the pressure pot. Is it for removing bubbles? Why did the rose have to sit inside the pot for 2 days> Is the pot also for curing as well as bubble removal? That rose is just gorgeous!
I just thought u could use a big clothes pin (that clamps) to hold the flower up...if u ever see any at a store..or even the kind that just has a slit thru it...a stem would fit perfectly
It's interesting that you are the 2nd channel I follow who has a husband named Dave, and she is in Australia as well. If the rose was floating, you could have just not filled the mold all the way, then add a top coat after. (Edit: I guess you did use a top coat).
I'm new to all this...but can you please explain why you have to use Resin A and a Resin B? I follow you all the time and I love what you create. You have some creative talent Chica. Love what you do, keep on Glowing. ❤🎉😊.
Beautiful piece! I liked the suggestion to drill into the base&put a light into it, not sure how that'd affect the resin but u cud easily fit a LED or3 into a tiny hole.. if u went far enuf in 2get past the black layer..oooh..i bet it wud b SUPER COOL as an accent/night lite!🤩🥰🌹 wish i had mats 2try a hibiscus(brought 1in 4winter&it bloomed-x8!!-mayb someday I'll hav enuf$$ 4craft materials as sparkly&neat as urs lol..doubt I'll find such a good helper💞dave!💘) Love ur cheerful videos-&ur🩷❤️🧡💛💚💙💜💖!! &thank u 4always makin me smile🤗🫶🤍🩶🤎🖤🫶🖖may u b 4evr blessed 😇
I'm wondering if you do a dried rose the same way ? I was glad to see that you were doing a rose sense this turned out so dark can you do another rose ?

Pipe cleaner or needle and thread through does stem then tied on a pencil think the needle and thread idea is the best

Thermal cracking? Gonna go look that up!
I love sprague he is so informative
I love his creations!!! Absolutely mind blowing!!! Plus I love being able to support other Canadians!!!
Is it possible to do this with a living flower? As in a flower that hasn’t been dried?
@@monicas310no- the moisture in the flower reacts with the resin, and it won't turn out. You'll get a nasty brown mess, that often won't cure properly! It really is necessary to be fully dry. There are great ways to dry a flower that keeps them looking good- lots of great videos!

8:30 stick a pin thru the stem at the depth and prop up on sticks
Reminds me of those paperweights from years back!!

Hello, Dave! You have a lovely voice.
Yay! You finally got that third hand you needed. 😁. Keep that fellow. 😁.
Oh wow looks fantastic Julie, if you done it with a blue rose that would look amazing, thank you Julie and hubby 😁😁
I think in this case, since the opening is not so wide, you could just clip a wooden clothes pin on the stem
Your right clear would be better with a light under it because the rose dose look very pretty and really makes it stand out.😊😊
I just love hearing your giggles while you are doing your beautiful art ! Hehehe
Very pretty. Ms Julie I’ve bought one of your molds and didn’t received a puffy heart😢😂. Love your vids and ideas. You always give me a smile. Best wishes from South Africa.❤
I wonder if a white base would make the rose stand out more
I think you should give it another go & since the flower is so large. Try doing it in the larger mold & of course don’t use the black. As always I did enjoy your video. Have a wonderful day 💐
I like it. I always wondered about a dark base! I'm so glad you did it. I wanted to see how it looked. Great video.
Oh noes! On the positive side, not a bubble in sight!
Perhaps two lolly sticks and cloths peg the stem lay across the sticks. A stone either side of the peg for stability.
The rose is beautiful🤩! I love it! Puffy hearts were an added bonus.❤❤
It’s good having a handy man about the house! 😂 great job! Looks great!
Thanks for helping Dave and showing us the pressure pot. I would be like you Julie, not interested in learning to use that one😂
I love this because it was a learning adventure.i also loved it because it was a happy accident and we learned together not to use black on this type of pour

The rose is beautiful! It would look so pretty on a windowsill. Loved the puffy hearts, too!😍
The bowling ball in king pin

You can use a peg, it works really well ❤
Love it, I use a pressure pot for almost everything. I've never used a Vacuum chamber before, I feel it's to complicated. Lol
Gorgeous.
Well done Dave! Precious helper.❤
Commented to soon, the paper binder clip is a really good idea also!
Very pretty. You could drill up from the bottom a little and put a LED light inside
A rubber band around a popsicle stick will hold the stem exactly where you want it. I wonder if spraying a sealant lightly before-hand on the rose will hold the color better?

Love that you show your oops❣️🙏🏼🫶🏼🙏🏼👍🏼keeping it real ❤️🫶🏼❤️👍🏼
You can use some wire.... Twist ties, jewelry wire to twist the end of the flower, then around the Popsicle sticks.
Alligator clips work really well. That's what I use.

Hermosa ! Hay bases con luz para que la figura se aluce desde el fondo ❤
Happy Sunday morning!
Lovely Julie. I think it’s dark because the dye has come out of the rose not because of your black background. 😊
Thanks for the tutorial on the pressure pot. Is it for removing bubbles? Why did the rose have to sit inside the pot for 2 days> Is the pot also for curing as well as bubble removal? That rose is just gorgeous!
This is gorgeous, tbat rose is so realistic 😍
I just thought u could use a big clothes pin (that clamps) to hold the flower up...if u ever see any at a store..or even the kind that just has a slit thru it...a stem would fit perfectly
Love roses. Would like to see this.❤
I think a clothes pin would work just fine. ❤😂❤
You could use a big needle or wire to poke though the steam, where you want it to rest on the mold. Love your videos.
I have made many of those but yes need a clear bottom I even put lights in mine very nice though
This is a good idea. I like a lot. Thanks for the help Dave!🌹👍
bubbles are so pretty on flowers looks like dew drops
Pretty though but hard to see. I’ve a lot of roses I dried this year. Need to use them. This would work well. ❤ the concept. 💕
It's interesting that you are the 2nd channel I follow who has a husband named Dave, and she is in Australia as well. If the rose was floating, you could have just not filled the mold all the way, then add a top coat after. (Edit: I guess you did use a top coat).
Maybe just the red glitter in clear resin.
Put it near a window with plenty of light coming in so it shines through it.
With the styrofoam as a frame for the stem, use a corsage pin through the stem to hold it at the desired location.
I'm new to all this...but can you please explain why you have to use Resin A and a Resin B?
I follow you all the time and I love what you create. You have some creative talent Chica. Love what you do, keep on Glowing. ❤🎉😊.
The rose looks so nice in the sun. Maybe sand off the black so the inside reflection lightens up?
Thanks, Dave! I love this, Julie, I wonder if you just do a clear bottom with the iridescent crinkle paper?
This might help with colors running, use spray coating for ceramics or spray polyurethane finish!

I hope you make another one!
I would try putting it on a light just to see if a little light does come thru. Just a thought
Thanks Dave
It's beautiful 😍
I'm wondering if you do a dried rose the same way ? I was glad to see that you were doing a rose sense this turned out so dark can you do another rose ?
You could try to sand the dark resin off and clear coat it.
Just use a chip clip or a hair clip to keep the rose in place.
Use a peg or a crocdile clip to hold the stem up on top of the polystyrene.
Hi Dave 😂 that was cool!🎉
I use a clothes pin or chip clip to hold mine in place
I use clamps for so many things
Amazing❤🎉
😊this is a great idea. Could you drill a hole through the black and shine a light on your rose that way? Thanks for sharing this with us.
A close pin might be a good idea to hold it up
I didn't think black would help show much, probably gold. But beautiful with the torch!
Is it possible to cut or grind off the black base of the beautiful red rose globe then add a clear base instead?
Sticks will be better with washing peg on top?
Beautiful. I can see that as a paperweight
Very beautiful ❤
I just started watching and you are in the process of trying to suspend the rose, what about using a clothes pin to suspend it?
If you soak the rose first and let that cure, maybe the ball will not get stained?
Hi, have you ever done an insect in resin, and do you have a video as I have a butterfly i have dried I want to use. But not sure how thanks
Love, love !!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Maybe lowering arms on clamp will help hold it center
Very pretty x❤
Love it ❤ could you do this without a pressure pot?
Yes, but you wou would have lots of tiny bubbles 🫧
You could drill a hole up into the bottom and put a light into it?
Hi Julie are we going to see your husband make some resin art, like Michelle husband Don at Glitz N’Glitter or is he shy?
Pretty
Is a pressure pot required to make this? ❤
Maybe the rose did leak a little bit of color out, There can be also why it's a little dark. It's still cool
