This is my absolute favorite Megadeth song! this guy went through every single part step by step but my favorite part was at the end when he said good luck Like first you got to do this and than that than this and this and this and that while you are doing that but dont forget theres this as well oh also this this and that and than theres that so what hes doing is this with this combo while doing that and also that now he does this twice while doing that and he does it 3 times and goes back to do this while doing that this and that and than does it 3 more times oh and lastly he does this that that and that Good luck
correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe Mustaine uses 'sweep picking' during the intro chords. What I mean by this is he plays the high note with a downstroke, pulls it off to the open string and then plays the remaining two notes both with an upstroke (similarly to what he had done later on in Lucretia). But I guess it's not that important as long as you can make it sound good!
exactly dude, i just had it going finger style and snappier sound sounded pretty cool, practice it as many ways as you can i guess, a lot of thrash metal stuff makes for great exercises!
I find It annoying when people say 5th string, 2nd second string. Just say Low E or B string. People should learn their string names anyways. Standard EADGBE.
... sounds like a difficult song to explain... you've got some patience breaking this one down like this.... cool lesson!
Great lesson
way to go. you did "my last words" love this jam. absolutely love it
i feel the same, it reminds me of the sound of the first album, it has more of a MWOBHM sound to it.
the intro is so melodic and evil

I find the east way is to play it with economy picking starting with an upstroking. UP > UP > DOWN > repeat
That arpeggio was pretty hard in the intro though, and I complained about the arpeggio in The call of Ktulu.
Both are written by Mustaine so it explains
Metallica is child’s play once you get introduced to Megadeth lol
Feels more natural to sweep the intro for me even though I don’t even sweep that much, anyways if anyones having trouble alternate picking try it out!
Start with an upstroke though obviously
That’s my strategy too. You just have to be a clean sweep sweep picker
yes yes yes
The boring rhythm part is awesome
it is
yeah bro whats your pedal/amp because that tone is giving my life meaning
you ever think of doing arch enemy tunes or conquering dystopia/Keith morrow or Jeff loomis riffs
Can you figure out the chord harmonizations on Awaken the Guardian songs by FW?
please do 'cemetery gates'

you learned this by ear right .. I learned the intro years ago but it's kinda different from what you showed here
nicely done tho if I ever tried anything like this I'd fuck up and have to redo the whole thing
Mostly by ear... I use tabs tho when I get stuck. Sometime it helps... sometimes it makes it worse.

no one cares

Your username is pretty apt I feel.
yes i agree
Yo cat stfu your not that impressive trying to sound smart.
You're totally right, it's not that hard and it sounds way less boring than saying "5th string, 1st string"
When is face reveal ?
Metallica riffs are teletabies riffs compared to this
Wtf
Assem CR Ghannam 🤣🤣
Potato Man most of the time
I found a lot of metallica riffs hard
Master of puppets is hard tbh
