@@annann3745 But you wouldn't know who he is (meaning that during the serenade you still wouldn't know that he's like that with everyone) XD Smart move though hehehe
Unfortunately at the Met, Kwiecen is usually in the first cast, with Peter Mattei in the second (Giovanni, Onegin). It should be the other way around. Mattei is by far the greater singer.
Dave Glo Kwieçen in fact has a better control of vibratto than Mattei, and Mattei seems to sing a little tired, also, after the bad performance on the Wagner premiere last year I don't think he would have an important first cast in a long time.
Why must one be seen as better than the other? Both are excellent interpreters of the role, both are talented and intelligent musicians, and versatile in their ability to create character and charismatic enough to hold the stage. Another is Ildebrando D'Arcangelo. I've seen all three of them perform this role, and to compare them is quibbling and rather pointless; all were excellent and I'd be thrilled to hear and see any one of them do it again.
I agree. Many people say it is the best lyric baritone: Keenlyside, Mattei, Kwiecien. I like D'Arcangelo and Ervin Schrott. Everyone knows a lot about the role and makes a lot of music.
Kwiecien is such an amazing artist.
La plus belle voix que je connaisse. Et quel Don Juan ! Insurpassable.
A Giovanni to die for. Who wouldn't fall in love with such a Don?
He has incredible vocal skills and also a great acting ability here as Don Giovanni but also as Oneguine and my favorite Posa in Don Carlo👏🙏🙌🤲
Great voice! He knows how to sing like a bass. He knows singing.
Magnifique , belle voix, beau personnage
Genial! Super Stimme, absolut geeignet für Don Giovanni. Erinnert fast an den großen Siepi.
Super mandolin playing, well done!
Mariusz = 🎼 🌟 🥰
Don Giovanni szívolvasztója...
BRAVISSIMO!
The best Don Giovanni ever! And a singer/actor with the second name: Vor Gott!!
Exactly : The best Don Giovanni ever! Such a voice !
Great sound!!
What a great singer. Nice Don Giovanni, simply perfect. Bless for my ears
Edgar Vee My thoughts exactly ;)
Wonderfull
que granvoz genial
I love his look at 1:33: "Come on, still nothing?" :D
Hahahahah nailed it!!
I would have been down there with him after the ending of the first phrase XD
@@ellavoslinsky_flute I would empty a chamber pot on his head.

He's thinking about performing the aria, not the woman. You cannot seduce someone who understands acting!
Grazie 🙏!
Aspirated

I can't agree with you. I prefer Mariusz to Peter but that's only a matter of taste ;)

Dave Glo subjective opinion, isn't it?

he tried to copy siepi's singing but nothing worked
Deh pefforza
Bravo,ma Dmitri khvorostovskiy è imparagonabile 😢😢😢
Woofy too covered and boring.
Zero sex appeal. Does he know he's trying to seduce Donna Elvira's maid?
Cannot agree, but it's your opinion. He would definitely seduce me lol
@@krowapaulinka4351 And I would empty a chamber pot on his head at least.
constricted and ingolata at times. not good
Bad singing
