"Maggie Campbell Blues" was Tommy Johnson's version of the well known C. C. Rider or Easy Rider; I find it the most moving of the variants I've heard. The vocal line is like that of a spiritual in its free, moaning quality. The guitar is returned "in Spanish", an open chord tuning. Shirley explains that "Maggie Campbell was Tom's old lady." ~ Art Rosenbaum

Whoever thumbs this down , get a fecking life. This is a blues master piece both vocally and guitar wise. Playing a different rythm from what you are actually singing is super duper hard.
For the verses he switches between double and half tempo.
I love this version, Tommie would to
In very loving memory of Mr. Shirley Griffith (1907 - 1974 R.I.P. Gone but NOT forgotten).
