- Solo climbing the famous Cinque Torri in the Dolomites.
I climbed the route a day prior with my girlfriend, and it inspired me so much that I had to go climb it Free solo the very next day.
We had a great few days in the Dolomites, and I'll be back (hopefully in September) to climb a hard 500m route I've been planning to climb this year... More on that when the time comes.

Would love some rope solo videos
Great Andraz! Greetings right from Italy. I really enjoy your videos, but I think that your decision to switch to rope solo is right. Not only you will climb harder routes making video more interesting, but you'll be safer too. Looking forward to see this new kind of content from you! Bye :D
Thank you brother! Appreciate the support 😀 greetings!
Rope Solo is much better in my opinion, I would prefer watching You rope solo rather than free solo.
Its funny seeing how you risk your life climbing without a rope but also you use a machard to do a safe rappel😂 Pd: I really like your videos
Thanks, a perfect early morning climbing alone on great rock with those views. Impressive.
Thank you!
Impressive. Glad to hear you switch from solo to rope solo. I subbed!
Thank you brother 🙌
17:50 You are a 'tourist'
True 😆
Great video angles - we can really nicely see the routes. I mostly interested in the easier free solo stuff (not much such good coverage from other sources). It would be great to add link to some topo/more information about routes that you are doing (if it doesn't cost you too much effort) - that way it is easy to check the difficulty and potentially if I'd like to climb them as well.
Thank you!
But I don’t like sharing route info publicly because I don’t want to be responsible for anyone trying it. There are plenty of topos online for the Cinque torri :)
I hope you understand.
@@andrazegart I totally understand - it's always a fine line regarding responsibility, especially with free solo. Honestly, the idea to get more info for routes came to me much more in your videos from Slovenia where there are many routes on the north face of Triglav and it wasn't clear to me which one were you climbing.
Hi Andraz, what's the name of the first rout?
What were the UIAA grades? Around IV+ and V-?
great content, impressive stuff! i really enjoy your videos. calm and collected =) stay safe
Thank you very much 🙏
Super interested in watching the process of rope solo on tough routes. Excited for the future videos keep it up
Thank you brother! 🙌
You are so talented wow wich u the best
I love to watch your videos man. Simple, but I always watch them till the very last second, because I enjoy the style. Keep making videos, no matter if you go climbing solo with ropes. I always wanted to try and learn how to climb especially outside, but I got no real opportunity, yet. Maybe I will get there someday. At least your videos keep me interested in this topic :)
same here man!
I really appreciate that brother!
You should definitely give it a try, but make sure to get proper training/courses first! 😀
this is my first video and you make great videos! and wise change of mind with the rope soloing. showing some harder routes will be much more interesting, especially to learn something and take part of your problem solving ! looking forward, you got a new sub
Thank you, I appreciate the support 🙌
This is where I first started via ferrata and first realized there is stuff outside indoor boulder gyms :) great memories
I'm glad you are making these videos and I hope you'll keep on doing them. As someone from hungary I mainly climb in the mountains you do, so its quite nice to see someone free solo or rope solo in some occasions the very same routes i've been on. Thank you for the nice athmosferic content you upload every now and then!
Thank you brother! I’m glad to hear that 🙏. Maybe one day we cross paths in the mountains :)
Sure we will enjoy your rope solo content too!! I hope you will show your method to climb rope solo, I tried differents options and I like learn different ones. Greetings and keep it on mate!!
Bro. I love your channel. I have to ask I haven’t seen that brand shirt since I was kid. Who makes it again?
Thank you brother!
If you mean the one with the stripes it’s helly hansen :)
Yeah it’s a pretty old shirt, but it’s really good quality.
My father gave it to me a few years ago.
Love your videos and your attitude and commentary while climbing. ❤🙏
Btw, how long is the rope in this video?
Thank you brother, much appreciated🙌.
The rope was 60m long and I did 3 rappels from the second tower. Although in the video it looks like one rappel because i cut out most of the rapelling.
Great climb session. What is the device you mount on top of your helmet to get this amazing 3rd person view
Thank you!
It’s basically just a 20cm gopro extension pole mount from ebay :)
going to the dolomites in a months time! whats the name of this route??
Keep up the good work!
Thank you!
Via normale quarta Alta & Bassa
Brave
That mrtal that was alteady there. How do you trust repellling off that and not placing your own anchor
You can see if the anchors are trustworthy or not. And usually they last quite a long time, as long as the rock quality is good.
If everyone made their own anchor then the mountains would be covered in metal :)
love it, seeing you climb in the dolomites where i live. Who know maybe we’ll see each other on a mountain top or bottom someday💪
keep up the great work and enjoy our mountains
Thank you brother! The time I spend in the dolomites is probably my favourite time of the year 😀
Looking forward to the harder rope solos!
Much appreciated! :)
Super bravo. Stay Safe !
Thanks! You too :)
What's the name of the route??
Torre quarta alta/bassa - via normale
Did you not put a knot on the end of the rope when rapeling? Did I see that right?
Otherwise, I really enjoy your videos!
Thank you!
I did put a knot on all abseils :)
Only on the last abseil I probably didn’t because I knew the rope reached the bottom.
haha @@andrazegart easy to miss! Keep having fun, stay safe!
I would never free solo a route, am too scared think of breaking a hold…
Then you never should haha 😀
@@andrazegart Well not on this kind of stone. I would rather free solo on granite, where the stone is far more dense and stronger
crazy :D
😊🙌
nice video
Thank you :)
Bravo dude! Is that a single rope you're bringing up to rapell down? Probably worth picking up a thin rap line if you're gonna be soloing with it. Worth the money, worth your life!
Thank you!
It's actually a twin rope (8mm, 60m).
Love your videos so much amazing content
Thank you very much! 🙏
Whats the name of the first route?
Torre quarta bassa - via normale
Thank you! Looks great! @andrazegart
In America we call them balls. Great climb, great video. Stay safe
Hahah thank you!
Greetings from Slovenia 😊
Cool video! But never let go of your rope when repealing. Even if there is a prusik on. Just be careful! 🫶🏽
Thank you!
As long as the prusik is not damaged, it’s totally fine to let go of the rope. But of course it doesn’t hurt to be extra careful :)
I'm happy to hear that you are switching to rope solo. Be safe, old mountaineer is the best mountaineer.
Thank you!
Very true. Climbing requires a lot of focus and smart decision making, and sometimes even a bit of luck :)
what’s up brother! what has made you focus more on rope soloing instead of free soloing?
Ayoo.
Because I want to solo climb harder routes, which I would not feel comfortable free soloing :)
I will still free solo every now and then, but that is not my main focus.
Well done Andraz, I throughly enjoyed it. 👏
Thank you 😊
Hey which route was it? Nice video thanks!
Via normale Quarta alta and Quarta bassa.
Thanks!
Hello from Turkey, You are a wonderful man, may God bless you.

Thank you brother! I love the Dolomites :)
Do you know the name of the rout? looking forward to see you rope soloing!
Thank you brother! The routes are Via normale quarta Bassa & Alta
👏👏👏 Excellent!!!
This is one of my top three favourite vids. Non chalant, casual.
Thank you, much appreciated 🙌
@@andrazegart 🧊 ⛏️
Brilliant ascent! Congratulation! What pants do you wear? Is that Karibu?
Thanks! Yes it is indeed Karibu :)
@@andrazegart which one Karibu? Are You satisfied with them? Sorry for bothering 🙂 greetings from Croatia
Great content bro, can’t wait to see rope solo as well
Thank you!
Rope soloing will be back on the program as soon as the snow melts 😀
nice job!

Great video! Hope to see you one day climbing in Bosnia. I would love to show you around Bosnian mountains. Stay safe.
Thanks brother! That’s definitely a possibility in the upcoming years 😀

Alex Honnold Will be proud of the next generation 😮
OMG marvelous! Please take care! My good friend Christoph Klein died last december...
I’m sorry to hear that, my condolences! 😞
This is wrong on so many levels my friend. You have no margin of error, no safety procedures, no back ups, nothing. Remember, all the idiots in the comments below saying "Bro your videos are great, etc." will be still alive the day after your hand slips from the grip you were holding.
There has been countless times I was in much bigger danger while driving on the road. (Because of idiotic reckless drivers)…
In life there are situations where you are in full control of your life (free soloing), and situations where your life is in the hands of reckless drivers for example.
