7-3-4 Sick Federal Signal Thunderbolt 1000T Siren Alert Test, Wetumpka, AL

On July 3rd, I got on up and got down to the Montgomery area for some siren tests (stopping briefly in Jemison to film a CSX C249 on the way). My first target of the day was this Thunderbolt in Wetumpka, near the downtown, mounted with an old and long out of service Darley Model 3 siren. Met-up with ‪@DJ2226‬ here as well, which was fun. Elmore County ran a bit late with their test, and about five or so minutes after 9 AM, this siren fired right on up! Definitely nice to get another Thunderbolt recorded, wouldn't mind filming a 1000 or a 1003 someday though. You can hear a few nearby 2001s sounding during and after this siren's test as well.
Sadly, as you can see, this siren is a bit sick, as the pitch on it fluctuates a bit during the test, though it seems to go the majority of it without fluctuating. The blower also doesn't seem to sound the healthiest? Though that may just be due to it being fairly loud. Either way, it was definitely nice to film this siren finally, since Elmore County cancelled their test the last time I tried for it due to some severe storms rolling through the night before.
Also, for those curious about the Millbrook Thunderbolt I and several others had tried for last month: It appears it was still dead. One of the controls' doors was ajar still, the horn appeared to be pointing the same way, and a firefighter at the station next to it said he didn't hear it go off for the test. As such, for August, I'm gonna focus on some sirens up in the Tennessee Valley again.
Elmore County, AL, tests on the first Wednesday of the month at 9AM, weather permitting. If the test is unable to be done that day, it's delayed until the following Wednesday, at 9AM, weather permitting.
