The best tutorials on the web. You watch them, you understand judo. And with practice the throws become very technical and do not need to be compensated with power. Thank you sensei
I watched a video of Sampson in competition back in 1990. He had complete control throughout the match and incredible balance. Didn’t even look like he was trying at all. Unreal.
When you bring uke to your chest , you lift him up or pull him forward or both ? Some slow -Mo demo is done bringing him more forward or way up ( uke totally on toes) . But when the throw is done in one motion , the difference isn’t huge .😵💫
Love that throw, but injured myself badly trying to execute it. It’s good, it’s real, it’s effective, and I don’t recommend it. Because against larger people, if I mess up the footwork, get stuck on the mat/seams or just tired, then I’m loading my weight and uki’s weight all on one leg in a twisted compromised position… and that’s how I injured my knee. Good throw, just for me not worth the risk of it goes wrong. Thank you for the details. For other body types or those that have the time and prioritization to drill it enough, excellent and more power to you.
Well explained but I would add information that weight should be on the lefts leg toes + leg should be bent in the knee + don’t forget about body rotation in the last part of the throw

Great teaching thank you! A great example of kuzushi and Tsukuri in nage waza.

I pull my hands up to my chest, when I bend, he bends, we bend
That´s the way I like it, no makekomi or overtwisting with your torso.
I love judo

That usually happens with tai otoshi but too bad it happened to you with harai goshi.

Good points! Sadly only 60s allowed on shorts - I have a full Harai Goshi video on my channel, check it out!
