Thank you for the video. When I inspect my grandfather clock the rack for the strike gets stuck and only chimes once no matter what time it’s at. So I usually send hours trying to get it to work and I haven’t had this issue for some time.
When it happens it’s not an easy fix and it takes me all day and last time it happened I got it working later in the evening. It gets annoying at times.
I know how it feels and thankfully it only happens when I work on the movement and thankfully it’s not due for another one of my inspections for a while.
It either comes like this from the factory sometimes or the bushing gets loose and throws it off. Or someone moves the hour hand not realizing that the mechanism doesn’t care where that hour hand is.
I'm sorry but it might be a bit. I've been somewhat overwhelmed with customer work that I haven't been able to work on my own clocks as much. But I'm thinking about you.
@@samsclocks2084Sam instead of doing things as fast as possible you should try to delay things a bit by taking breaks and going one clock at a time most people aren’t in a super hurry to get their clock back

I've encountered that problem before and usually it's an easy fix

I understand that feeling. Sometimes I beat myself up over taking a long time to fix a problem.
