It’s so funny that Motley Crue fans in the 90s hated this line-up because John’s vocals doesn’t suit for them and request to bring Vince back. They got what they wanted. The one cool thing about this era also is it did allow Motley to for the only time possibly really show their musical chops in a more technical sense. It's so much more technical than most of their stuff, it doesn't even sound like them.
And yet we will never see Vince attempt a John song, popular as this album has become, because he KNOWS he can't pull any of em off. Hell Vince can't pull of half the songs he's done with Motley any more.
Reminds me of the story of Sabbath. The original singer had a much more talented replacement. Comparing Corabi with Neil is like comparing Ozzy with Ronnie.
That is a great comparison and so true. I preferred Ronnie to Ozzy and John to Vince. All of them have their place in Rock history and not to take away anything from the original artist. But the "replacements" far out shine the originals.
I wish they had recorded this version in the studio with Corabi as a bonus track. Such a cool vibe. No it's not the OG with Vince but it's still awesome.

@@stephanea5364It's really hard to say based on the fact that they only did one album with Corabi. From all accounts in The Dirt, it sounds like the rest of the band (except Corabi) really didn't know the sound they really wanted. If you look at Motley Crue, their first album wasn't a massive hit for them either. I think the Corabi era Crue did not do well because it was not Vince Neil fronting a cockrock/ bar rock rock band.
I have heard many times that Corabi is an excellent musician, and I agree. However, I have also heard that he used to blow out his vocal chords rather frequently. So, that is not so good. Vince's problem is alcohol. When he is fit and sober, he is on point.
Not sure if that is really true. Look up some isolated tracks w Vince. It's not real pretty, and if you listen to Vince live, even back in the day... its not great. I still love him though.
Always been an amazing song, but this is another level. Acoustic, and bluesy vocals. Nice to have a better quality of it though. There must be a recording of it in their vault somewhere.
John is so much better than Vince in every way. as a musician, singer, guitarist, performer & person. in fact Vince just got convicted again for DUI, not to mention he actually killed & destroyed lives by drinking & driving... not trying to hate Vince because he's had his share of pain in life to, but why would anyone choose him over John to be in a band with? Vince doesn't even have a voice left anymore, John does.
Vince is the one and only original Crüe singer, but John is a far better singer (songwriter, lyricist). And the Crüe finally chose the fame, and succes, and let the quality go.
I believe it was 2011-2012-ish...I don't remember the exact time frame, but he didn't seem pleased with Crabster coming out & killin' it. I never actually got to see any of the show clips. They seem to all be gone

In live Vince is shit
And you are a moron. The old Crue songs sounded far better with Corabi singing and adding his guitart play with Mick's. Corabi is a far superior singer than Vince Neil. Corabi also played guitar for the entire shows letting Mick Mars play leads he never could when he was the only guitarist in the band. Motley Crue were 10 times better with John Corabi. It's not even debatable. Mick Mars has stated numerous times that his favorite Crue album is the one with John Corabi.
Way better then Vince!! Vince needs to retire!
Like him but i like original doesn't sound the same
badass \m/
History repeat over and over again. This is like David Lee Roth and Sammy Hagar, Ozzy Osbourne and Dio. They have the best voice in their time, but unfortunally not as popular as the other guys.
if you love the song you can sing the song with soul anybody can learn the song American Idol is a fine example of that my question to you is who's the singer of Motley Crue the man is seen more heartache more trauma more life more ups for Downs every note every lyric drips with his soul it might as well have Myles Kennedy sing this song
I prefer Corabi. This could have been a much more legitimately timeless band.
Without any hits
@@stephanea5364It's really hard to say based on the fact that they only did one album with Corabi. From all accounts in The Dirt, it sounds like the rest of the band (except Corabi) really didn't know the sound they really wanted. If you look at Motley Crue, their first album wasn't a massive hit for them either. I think the Corabi era Crue did not do well because it was not Vince Neil fronting a cockrock/ bar rock rock band.
Crue was on the right path with Primal Scream, I would have love to hear the next record with Vince, but I still love MC94@@jamesstrevels5447
Why they dont play in woodstock 94
Can u imagine if they play there just before aerosmith take stage ?
I have heard many times that Corabi is an excellent musician, and I agree. However, I have also heard that he used to blow out his vocal chords rather frequently. So, that is not so good. Vince's problem is alcohol. When he is fit and sober, he is on point.
Not sure if that is really true. Look up some isolated tracks w Vince. It's not real pretty, and if you listen to Vince live, even back in the day... its not great. I still love him though.
I was at this show. Stayed overnight for tix the night before. Have any other vids of the show?
@rch9000 I could argue that, BUT I WONT, because clearly, that is their best album!!
You said it best!!
Always been an amazing song, but this is another level. Acoustic, and bluesy vocals. Nice to have a better quality of it though. There must be a recording of it in their vault somewhere.
Band should have stayed together and called themselves John Corabi & Crue
💯🎸🙌🎤🇵🇪
awsome!!!!!!
Corabi is excellent!
John Corabi is an amazing singer. But it's not the Motley Crue sound without Vince Neil.
SeaBass SeaBass to me the album with Corabi was their heaviest and best. Didn’t sound as commercial and glam rockish. But I’m weird like that.
Gary Burke And the guy can still sing to this day unlike Vince.
Corey Conley well Vince sings with higher pitch so it puts more stress on the voice
I can see how people feel it's not motley without Vince, However I have no problem calling the 94 album motley crue.
Vince is the one and only original Crüe singer, but John is a far better singer (songwriter, lyricist). And the Crüe finally chose the fame, and succes, and let the quality go.
is true a great rock stars Corabi
Corabi sings it so much better.
That is 1000x better than any rendition with Neil.
Was this Karaoke night damn that guy sucks
Corabi is a fucking legend
Your comment explains the idiocy of Vince fans perfectly. Flat out say John does the song better...but that Vince is better. LOL
Wow, John Corabi is so cool; great singer too. I wasn't paying attention all those years ago because I was team Vince.
I believe it was 2011-2012-ish...I don't remember the exact time frame, but he didn't seem pleased with Crabster coming out & killin' it. I never actually got to see any of the show clips. They seem to all be gone
If only they had stuck with Corabi, they would’ve been poised for a second act of Decadence the late 90s were soon to bring. They style they had during this time was perfect.
I love John's take in this, he's not trying trying to copy Vince. If I had to choose dare I say it but it's got to be John
