My issue was a plugged vacuum hose that went from the air filter box to the valve cover. also - it was the same engine... a HONDA GX25, but it was on a garden tiller, instead of a string trimmer.
I have the same motor but it is in a star picket driver, have the same problems as mentioned, I’ve been told if you leave fuel in it for prolonged periods it will clog up the carby, I went a bought a new carby form Honda shop very expensive could of go a cheaper one online am fitting it up tomorrow il re-comment on its outcome, plus I bought a new spark plug so il try that first 🇦🇺🤙
Are you the bloke that sings for Cold Play and was married to Gwyneth Paltrow? If so, will you send me your signature as I might be able to make some money from it...
fixed "for now". I have a gx35 and a couple of gx25's and they all suffer. I have cleaned carbs and fitted car kits, new hoses, filters. All which got the engines running perfect again. But they dont last long. Either sitting for some time you come back and they bog down. Or with consistent use they eventually start to give problems again. I love honda gear but not these small honda engines.
Hello my friend, I have a problem with my Honda GX 35 weed eater. It starts fine and idles ok, but, when I increase acceleration, it bogs down and eventually dies. I have replaced the fuel lines that go into the gas tank, cleaned the air filter, and changed the gas filter inside the gas tank...The problem still exist. There was a recent oil change as well. I in live the Philippines where corruption is out of control and there is a possibility of watered down gas. Do you have any other suggestions that I might apply to remedy the situation? Thanks, Santy
This motor sucks ! broke after 3 months of use and Honda refuses to fix it or replace it. Honda offers terrible support. Stay away from those motors and Honda
That's a bummer. Mine lasted over 5 years before it gave me any problems, and I ran it hard cutting brush 4-5 fit tall. It was on a Husqvarna 224L. Thanks for sharing. Best Wishes & Blessings. Keith Noneya

Empty fuel between uses. These carby's use rubberized parts and fuel kills them. ALSO DO NOT USE ETHANOL which creates worse issues!

The carburettor may need a clean - Failing that you may want to check spark plug and ignition coil
Hi handsome. What do you drink during your job? Or videos?
Hi..do u keep the choke open or close for operation.? Mine shuts down if i close the choke.
Choke is only to start the motor. You shouldn't be running it while the choke is on. Once the engine is warm, choke isn't often needed to start.
when will you release a new album
Probably when you stop asking.
I tried this and now it's worse. Hmmm..

Don't replace it with a new Stihl!
If you think this motor sucks, then you just suck at maintenance and reading an owner's manual.
